  1. Romo's numbers will have a huge decline this year....Huge difference when you line up without your best player out there. I don't see him being much of an upgrade over Eli, and he isn't going to find anyone close to Bryant left at the WR position this late.

I agree. Between Romo and Bryant, I take Bryant. After the first couple of QBs, they're a dime a dozen. Romo's better than Eli, but...

  2. What, specifically, from her judicial philosophy leads you to those conclusions, leatherneck? And what of her previous rulings and opinions? Those seem to contradict what you've described.

I've heard Sotomayor on many occassions say that a judge should make decisions on his/her feelings and not on the law. It's up to the judge to act fairly on how they see fairness being enacted.

  3. "This nomination hearing is critically important for two reasons:

First, Justices on the Supreme Court have great responsibility, hold enormous power, and have a lifetime appointment.

Just five members can declare the meaning of our Constitution, bending or changing its meaning from what the people intended.

Second, this hearing is important because I believe our legal system is at a dangerous crossroads.

Down one path is the traditional American legal system, so admired around the world, where judges impartially apply the law to the facts without regard to their own personal views.

This is the compassionate system because this is the fair system.

In the American legal system, courts do not make the law or set policy, because allowing unelected officials to make laws would strike at the heart of our democracy.

"Indeed, our legal system is based on a firm belief in an ordered universe and objective truth. The trial is the process by which the impartial and wise judge guides us to the truth."

    Couldn't agree more senator! :thumb:

  4. Its not a national story because there are examples of perversion every day. NBC News is not going to carry it when they have 22 minutes of broadcast time. Online news did report this.

Duke LAX, on the other hand, had more factors that made it a national story. Affluence, sex, race, etc.

This is , sadly, just another sick puppy.

This story absolutely has sex and race. Gay white man adopts black infant. Sexually abuses child. Offers child to others to molest across state lines.

  5. While browsing one of my favorite websites, The Acton Institute for the study of Religion and Liberty, I found this:

Gov. Sandford: But I think the Bible says, “Let your light so shine be fore men that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father that’s in heaven.“ Hopefully, by the way in which you act. The way in which you make decisions.

 I'm going to cry. This guy was an amazing politician, principled, smart, and unafraid. Now he is either a hypocrite or an idiot.

I'm not sure his recent actions support that.

  6. What the military did was illegal. There is no provision in Honduran law that would allow them to pick up the president and dump him in Costa Rica. I still find Obama's position very disturbing. Maybe he wants to be president for life too.
