  1. Thanks, I was wondering from where he came. I've seen a lot of 14 region BB and never noticed him before that game.
  2. Glad you're so sure! On most collisions like that half the people in the gym think it's a charge, half think it's a block. But you can say for 100% certain that the kid had both feet set before the player took his last dribble? That's why in most cases with the game on the line, in the final seconds it's a no call and if it goes in fine, if not then someone rebounds. And how do you "mistakenly" call the charge on the wrong kid, when the kid is on the floor at the other end of the court? And then refuse to even ask the other refs? The guy was bad,no two ways about it.
  3. Post their names, that was the worst call I have ever seen in my life and I'm a Breathitt fan. The fact is Davidson was laying on the other end of the court and got his 5th foul for a charge that another kid did! First of all, 90% of the referees probably wouldn't call the charge in the last few seconds on a made basket that would have given Jackson City the game, and then to call it on the worng kid and put Jackson's best player out of the game with still a few seconds to go and refuse to confer with the other refs is inexcusable! The guy was horrible and I sure do understand Jackson City's disappointment but it's on film if anyone wants to question the facts.
  4. I thought the same thing. That's why it struck me when it said "he won a regional championship". In addition, he coached the middle school team at Jackson City, not the high school, I think.
  5. Just out of curiosity but what year did he win a regional title for Breathitt and when did he coach the Jackson City Tigers?
  6. True, and now they're having a losing season. You may be right about Fugate and the point guard thing. I never was sure what a point guard was supposed to da anyway.
  7. Dusty Allen. And you asked for the 3 kids who chose not to play this year that had played last year who could have contributed some solid minutes, Fugate hurt them a great deal when he left. He was the best athelete on the team and the best ball handler and passer. Point is, they left or did not play for a reason, things just didn't happen. And actually, I'd say Noble leaving had the least impact. I say this because this team was winning their games witout him at the beginning of the season.
  8. Two Allen kids and Epperson I think just to name 3. As for the freshman one has to figure that more then one or two kids played basketball in the 8th grade?
  9. Sort of makes it sound like things just happened. But with about 3 solid players electing not to come back out this year, Noble leaving, the 2 Fugates quitting mid-season, as well as the Combs kid quitting mid-season, and I'm told only one or two freshmen came out for the team this year? Doesn't take a genius to figure things out.
  10. Final Not exactly a scoring exhibition by the Bobcats.
  11. He's playing against Breathitt right now.... PCC is up 21-13 at the half. My bad, the radio called him John but I think it's Jordon.
  12. It was a bit better of a win then Cornerstone but that's about all you can say. I thought he had tried to "throw in the towel" but the Super told him he had to stick it out until the end of the season? ( Another poster said that) I don't have anything against him, just didn't think he was ready for this job and all that goes along with it. Events would seem to bare out that idea. Whatever the issues, he's the reason the team fell apart and many of the players left. There is no way around that. I want to see Beathitt around the top of the 14th region again and this ain't looking too good.
  13. I know. I didn't figure anyone who had weighed in would agree but it seems to me that we keep making the same mistakes our parents made and we whinned about, ie. judging people (or team in this case) by their dress or hair. I truely do not think it makes one bit of difference in how a kid plays as to what he wears to a game. And as for college scouts? They don't care how a kid is dressed or if he's listening to music before a game, they are interested in how he plays the game. I know everyone thinks "it looks better" and so on but I'm telling you, it's just not nearly as important as what's in a kid's heart and mind!
  14. They also make inmates dress alike in jail. Aside from basketball teams impressing a few spectators by dressing up/and/or/alike I really don't think it serves much of a purpose. I don't think it leads to a cohesion of the team and I don't think it makes them play better, which is where they really represent their respective schools. I think they should have to stay within the framework of the dress code at school but other then that, dress as they wish. Now if they choose to wear warmups or dress alike, that may lead to some teamwork.
  15. 107.1... just picked it up again, Hazard leads by 11 in the closing moments of the 3rd. The Cox kid is not playing for JBS.
  16. JB was down about 18 at the half but I lost the radio signal.
  17. IMO Al Hollon's (14th region Hazard) "working" of the officials is worth 6-10 points a game sometimes. It's like this, if a call could go either way, like a charge of block, it goes for Al just so they don't have to hear it.
  18. 1996 I think. Rosco Denny. Then we replaced him with Jim Rose the very next year = nose dive, winning 3 or 4 games a year for 2-3 years. Coach Baker arrives and revives the program. Breathitt plays in regional final and or semi-finals his 2nd and 3rd year. We fire him and hire Coach Hall and are considered top or 2nd in 14th region for two years. Then a rebuilding year and we fire Coach Hall and enters Coach Banks. Wins a lot of games with an easy schedule his first year then the wheels come off this year with so many quitting the team some of the kids on the bench look like 7th graders. A lot more information then you asked for but many of us who support Breathitt Basketball around Jackson are frustrated!
  19. If their most talented 'insiders' keep quiting the team, you'd beter hope for all the transfers you can get.
  20. I remember that. I think the KHSAA ruled the kid ineligible and then it was appealed through the court system with the Judge granting a stay, whereas the kid could play during the legal challenge. Neeedless to say, by the time anything got around to happening, the season had come and gone, rendering a ruling useless.
  21. Allen Central is the only common opponet they've had that I noticed and they beat both of these teams. That was before Breathitt's recent shake up. But, Topperdad says they've got it back together now so I'll take Breathitt in a close one.
  22. Breathitt Bobcats 1996 Scott More against Clay Co. 65 points 1991 Tim Gross against Newport 54 points 2005 Andrew Sewell against Owsley 46 points
