It is at best a lateral move, but never underestimate the appeal of home. I turned down a very good out of state job one time for just that reason. I've never regretted it. Besides, if he moves back to Louisville his sons can attend Trinity - Priceless.
This honestly may play a bigger factor than people think too.

That's a tough age. Us sixteen year olds are here to help if needed! :lol2:
Crikey that means my membership is old enough to start driving.

Seriously I hate to bring this guy up, but I think I know one of the infamous recruiting trips Zach Smith didn’t show up for. How the hell does Ohio State miss on Rondale Moore? That’s embarrassing.
By that same token, as I know it has been mentioned before, how the heck did Rondale not win Mr. Football?
-
Manual also. Seems more than usual.
Okay so it's not just me noticing it then.
-
Do there seem to be more injuries this year than usual?
It is entirely possible that I am more aware of it this year due to the sheer number of injuries T has sustained, but I seem to recall seeing a number of teams struggling with injuries more than usual this season. I know X has had their fair share and I seem to recall seeing something about a few for Male too.
If that is indeed the case, what's going on? Is it bad luck, something else, or am I just more hyper aware due to the volume of injuries the teams I follow most closely have sustained?

Once again Trinity loses a RB in the first quarter. Geremiah Smith was in a sling the rest of the night. Great job by Carter Martin. I saw Luke McGuire dressed but he didn’t play.
Trinity are district champs. Hopefully in two weeks we will nearly have our week 1 and 2 lineup back.
Good lord not again.

Dingle will not return.
That's who I was thinking of, brain fart.
-
Luke McGuire to practice this week. Nick Palumbino should play in the first round of the playoffs.
I didn't think Palumbino would be able to return this season.

Not much love for CAL on this site. Feels like they are the Louisville area version of Simon Kenton
Bad comparison, CAL has actually won something before.

I guess we’re still trying to figure out how that “tough schedule” is going to benefit this Trinity team.
This may well be the first time that it hasn't
With such a young squad this may have been a bit much for their psyche.

Last time St. X beat Trinity during the regular season?
2014
-
Good job X, looks like we have work to do.
-
If X can hang onto the ball I think they keep it within striking distance. This is one of the more intriguing matchups the last few years, because we don’t really know the identity of either team.
Exactly. New coach and injuries for X and a bunch of injuries for T.
Honestly I just hope that neither team has anyone added to the injury list after this game.

Bruh, BYE is BAE! :ylsuper:
-
1. Cov Cath- size, speed, depth
2. Trinity- still better than rest
(notice the spacing)
next 5, flip a coin...
3. Male
4. Freddy D
5. Scott Co
5b Boyle Co
5c Corbin
Not to be difficult but you do know that one of our losses was to Male, right?
-
I’m glad to see T scored a couple of times late. It sounded in the updates like the offense was atrocious.
At this point I just want them to get healthy. If they get healthy they will show their mettle, at this point though I have no issue with dropping the Rocks dramatically in the rankings. We can be the underdogs in every game the rest of the season, that's fine by me. As long as they find themselves, get healthy, and show what they're made of by season's end, I will be happy with them.
-
Had another injury. Good lord how many is that for the season?
-
Are we talking about Trinity or are we talking about Trinity? 0-4 and all I have heard is excuses we have injuries and we had to start 6 Sophomores. We are talking about a team that dresses over 100 plus kids? I can understand some schools making excuses but Trinity? Your beloved Rocks are having a bad down year own it.
We have lost 4 in a row, we were in a position to win 3 of them. Is that an excuse? No we still lost, were we competitive enough against tough competition to indicate that we should be fine against 99% of KY teams? Yes. Male and Scott County are the only two teams that legitimately can claim to be better than T right now. Both have signature wins, with Scott County's arguably being more impressive.
We are young. We are injured. Not an excuse. It is just something we are lamenting as we see things that likely wouldn't happen were the senior leaders not out.
In the end these rankings don't determine anything except for those who want to boost themselves out of insignificance by claiming records are the most important thing. Trinity will take a top ten ranking or a bottom 10 ranking at this point, because it doesn't matter yet. It matters in the playoffs. That's when put up or shut up comes into play, and given our history and our coaching staff's history I feel just fine about where we will end up.
Does your schools' staff, history, and experience instill the same confidence? If so then the playoffs will be more fun. I'd hate to see lopsided games against nobodies especially in a title game. Not much more embarrassing than crowing and getting shut out 48-0.
So rank us where you will, our performance will speak for itself by playoffs end.

I've thought about the image below quite often this week as we've seen hand-wringing about an 0-4 club being ranked.

Exactly, had I not seen something nearly identical to this in the past I would be more concerned.
-
This is a really good point. If Trinity does lose to Naperville Central and St. X then it will be hard to rank them above 4th or 5th, just because while they were competitive they will not have any wins against top quality teams. Besides Ballard, the district slate of Eastern, Jeffersontown, and Seneca is bad. With that said, a Trinity team that is 4-6 at the end of the year is likely still better than all but a small handful of teams in 6A.
Honestly I can't find fault with that thought.
-
6A
1. Male
2. Scott County
3. Frederick Douglass
4. Simon Kenton
5. Trinity
You may want to put on a heart monitor, I am worried that the excitement may do you in. :sorry:
-
In which case I suppose the Rocks should follow the NKY 6A method and schedule the school for the blind and a bunch of middle schools.
Oh well. I suppose we should write off this season, since clearly T has never come back from anything like this ever before to convincingly win a state title. :idunno:
6A Playoffs: #2 St. Xavier vs. #3 Male

Honestly it seems like the Big 3 this year are all defense with only a little offense. Kind of old fashioned really.
