I did one about a year ago, but in my case I had no knowledge of my own genetics. I did it for the sake of having an idea where I came from. While I have no interest in knowing who gave birth to me or who donated the other half of the genetic material I was curious as to the genetic markers and where my ancestors came from.

Did both J-Town and Seneca drop to 5A?

Never saw a game there. It was before my time.
Wait were you not there for the Trinity-Male game 2002?

I am struggling to understand why the state doesn't make this the standard and why it took so long to do this.

Nice little article but I'll always dislike what happened in those '93 playoffs as the Ads win streak was snapped.
Not going to complain with the outcome on my end.

I saw it in 3D and was very impressed. With such limited footage available today, this helped paint the picture for us. Well done. Side note - modern dentistry has come a long way in the previous 100 years. :lol2:
To be fair, they were British...so you know...

I can't see where this is playing anywhere in Cincinnati this week. Disappointing.
Well heck, it looks like they're only showing it in a couple places and only today.
See you On Demand...
They will be playing it again on 12/27

I am still horribly upset over the fact that I couldn't make it to Kansas City for the centennial of the end of the war in November. I want, so badly, to go visit the WWI museum there. It will be some years before that happens though with the twins on the way.

100%. I’ve argued that WW I was the worst World War of the two. The horrors of outdated tactics n modern warfare. The % of the European generation lost in that conflict. The upheaval of traditional governments after the war.
If you look at the numbers a higher percentage of combatants were actually killed in WWI than in any other war in history. The total numbers obviously slant toward WWII, but if you look at percentage killed of those who fought the numbers are way worse for WWI.
On top of that you had the Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918 immediately during and after the end of the war that ravaged so many. Yet we forget...

Thanks, if we go...I was planning on getting there at least an hour early. Wasn't sure if that would be enough.
Weeknights are your best bet, weekends it can be a quagmire of traffic.

I have spent a lot of time on WWI in my life and I get viscerally angry when I see people not give it the respect that it deserves. Most of that, in the US anyway, is lack of knowledge and education on the subject. It was a long drawn out war of attrition where there were no heroes and no real villains.
There is no movie where you can watch it and not feel sorry for everyone involved in the hopelessness and horror of a modern war just coming into its own. Some of the most jarring and unnerving images of war in the 20th century are the weird juxtaposing of the old ways of war with the new while looking at the pockmarked moonscape that no-man's land became.

I recommend "The World Wars" by the History Channel. It was made about 4 years ago. Covers WWI, the interwar years, and WWII by following some of the major players. Hitler, Churchill, FDR, Wilson, Stalin, Mussolini, Patton, MacArthur.
There is also a YouTube Channel that breaks down WWI week by week called "The Great War." It is long and dense (hell I haven't finished it, I am still in 1916 on it), but it is a good thing to watch or listen to in the background.
Martin's "The Great War," is a good book for WWI. It was our textbook for my WWI class at Bellarmine. His bibliography is a great resource for finding all sorts of details about the war.

I don't know nearly enough about WWI. I'll need to potentially try and check this one out.
Peter Jackson perks up my interest too. Thanks for posting about this CWB.
You're in the same boat with most Americans. Truly sad that we more or less ignore it in our history classes, to the point where many of our memorials to the men who died in WWI are now crumbling and in disrepair.
I don't blame you for it, it's just the nature of how we cover it. It's less cinematic and there is no one that really fits the narrative of cartoonishly evil bad guys like the Nazi's in WWII so it is harder to cover.
Americans may like an anti-hero but we have traditionally struggled with not really having a villain when telling our stories.

I’m glad to see them win but until private schools are prevented from giving any tuition assistant to athletes I will support a public private split.
So if a student has tuition assistance and then after a year decides to pick up a sport then he has to be cut off?

Louisville has whatever money Brohm would ask for, but will they pay it is the question. I wouldn’t want UofL to let Brohm extort them just because he’s a hometown guy. If they can make it work, great. If not, move on and find somebody else.
No, pay as much as needed! His boys need to go to Trinity. :lol2:

Meh not interested really, despite living less than 10 minutes away. Then again I find most decorations superfluous and unnecessary. Considering who I am married to, this has obviously caused problems in the past.

Would Jefferson Co. be allowed to cherry pick all the best talent from Floyd Co. (Indiana)?
Let's say no, but given the size disparity in Jefferson County's population compared to everyone else it wouldn't really matter. I mean we are look at around 26 or so high schools combining into one. That school by itself would be more populous than most counties in KY.

Pretty sure it was 87. Beat a Boone County team in the finals they had lost to pretty handily in the regular season.
Thanks, couldn't remember the details.

What he means is you won’t ever get a response. Or if you do get a response it will be one sentence usually only vaguely related to the original premise of your question.Or passive aggressive dislikes.
I feel almost guilty for laughing as hard as I did at these 2 posts. :lol2:

Based on population, one would think that Shelby, Oldham, and Bullitt would also produce very skilled teams if each county merged their high schools, no?
Shelby County only had 1 HS until relatively recently and they didn't end up with many titles. I think there was maybe 1 in the 80s.

If you’re going to bring that kind of pregame heat, you can’t go out and lose 50-0.
I honestly am not the kind of person to usually harp on that, but that is pretty indicative of the T-Ballard rivalry.
T-X is our biggest rivalry, but T-B is our nastiest. There is no love between those teams at all.

I don't know, for some reason my gut says Trinity is going to win it all again. They seem to be getting it figured out at the right time.
And getting healthy at the right time

After the embarrassment of this season, it seems to me that a solid blue stadium at the Governor's cup would be the least of their worries. On another note. If Brohm comes to UL, does Moore come with?
That would be a huge get.

Is Trinity going to win the state championship? I'm getting the feeling that after all the chaos of 6A this season it may end up just as always with the Rocks holding the trophy.
I certainly wouldn't object

Not sure the FB score between the two would be this close. :bunny:
