Non-Football
Georgetown
Villanova
Notre Dame
Depaul
Marquette
Along with Providence, Seton Hall and St. John's. That makes an eight-team conference.

Why would Stonebreaker be a good hire? He took Casey and gave them a cupcake schedule, they won like 1 district game and he got them into the playoffs. Since then what has he done at Garrard?
Agreed. If anything, the Garrard program has gotten worse under his direction. There is a complete lack of discipline within the program and wins are few and far between. Finally, his coaching style has not improved one bit during his tenure; the same coaching mistakes he made as a "young" coach he's making as an "experienced" coach.
Lincoln County is a traditionally strong football program that is really on an uptick right now. Hiring away the head coach from eight miles up the road will only set them back to the pre-French days.

This site may help you in determining what middle class is.
Not being in poverty doesn't mean you're middle class.

Too poor to be rich...
Too rich to be poor...
Enough not to be uncomfortable...
Not enough to be comfortable...
I fit all of those categories!

Lincoln has a very tough game with Madison Central, who are the Raiders playing friday night.

Have the Jenkins/Lee County and Jackson City/Cordia games been rescheduled? They were supposed to play yesterday but I see no scores.

The news of his death has bothered me all day.
I agree. I don't know why, but I can't get this story out of my mind. Maybe the fact that a quality actor of my generation is dead. It's been very troubling.

Andy Stephens at Casey?
Seriously?
-
Neal Brown that played at Boyle County?
Yep.

whats the chances guys like Carter, Williams, and Porter possibly transfering so BCG can free up some roster spots for JUCO's
I could see all three transferring. Carter perhaps to a smaller Division I school, or maybe back home to Georgetown College. Williams going back somewhere (although he might be a big-man project UK keeps, if they don't land any centers). Porter making the move to a lower-Division I school.
I'm not saying it will, it just wouldn't surprise.

What is the word on Hopson's Miss St commitment? I've heard he has very high interest in Cincy. It would be nice if Billy G could grab him!
Hospon says all the right things, basically that he'll be in Starkville next year. All the media reports tend to tell a different story. I don't know who to believe.

Pass Defense. Look into getting some.
They have struggled defensively lately, just looking at points per game allowed:
2007: 21.6
2006: 23.9
2005: 23.8
2004: 21.5
2003: 23.9

On a serious note, wouldn't this be a great time to push to make the Bush tax cuts permanent?
It seems like that would be a Republican feather-in-cap in this election season.
-
Previous meetings this year:
Dec. 6 - St. Patrick 71, Augusta 55 (@St. Patrick)
Dec. 28 - St. Patrick 77, Augusta 72 (@Bracken County)
-
Could the draw have set up any worse for St. Patrick?
The championship would seem like an afterthought, but with so many tough games, you could see a possible upset looming in that round.
Beat Deming, beat Augusta, beat Brossart and then Bracken County or Calvary Christian in the final. St. Patrick would be a huge favorite in that final, but the tough week might get the best of them.

Darius Miller has the edge because of his commitment to UK. Hopson and Mack are fantastic players, maybe even better than Miller, but Mississippi State and Butler recruits don't usually win this award.

Schedule needs upgraded IMO.
The question is who within 100 miles is wanting to play Belfry? I don't see that many. With increased gas prices and tighter education budgets, I don't see Belfry getting too far from the mountains in the near future.
-
I can't find the link, but I read an article that stated 1A-5A are probably going to change back to the old format for this upcoming season. They haven't decided exactly how 6A will be done (it might go back to normal like the other classes), so it is still in the open.
But from what I read, the changes will occur this fall.
-
I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts or information about Belfry's schedule for 2008. Will it be the same except for the Pike County Bowl?
They will play Louisville Holy Cross in the PCB instead of Corbin. I assume the rest of the schedule will be the same. I'm not sure about the East Carter game, but I'm assuming it will be on the schedule again.
I would think the East Carter game would remain on the schedule because this is year two of most contracts. If East Carter cancelled for some reason, maybe a West Virginia team would come on board or one of the schools left without a game because of the Harlan County merger.

Having a night off between games is beneficial to St. Patrick, but this one will be a barn-burner. I'll take the Saints by two.
-
Wow. One might say Rose Hill will win this regional tournament now, but Fairview and Bath County both have quality teams.
-
Why do we think they'll beat Pitt?
I want to say "Dave Wannstedt," but one could respond with "Charlie Weis."
I'll just give the home nod to Notre Dame, although they didn't win much there last year. Just guessing!
Should the Big East split into 2 conferences, Non Football and Football Schools?
