Rounding out the field will be Little Rock (Arkansas) Central and Chicago De La Salle.
Two schools with quite extensive non-athletic histories. Little Rock Central was at the center of desegregation following Brown v. Board of Education while De La Salle graduated all the Chicago Daleys, both Greg and Bryant Gumbel, and a host of other prominent people in American history.

I have heard Drakeford got hurt in football and might be out for basketball season.
He got rolled under while blocking in their game against Garrard last week. He looked to be in a lot of pain and they carried him off the field, but he didn't leave in an ambulance (at least not that I saw). It didn't look good, but hopefully he'll be able to bounce back before basketball season.

This one is exciting. Should be a great game. Typically you’d say this is just for bragging rights but a win here could have huge RPI implications for both teams.

When was the last time O lost a district game?
They were 1-3 in district in 2017 with losses to Christian County, Apollo, and Graves County. Prior to that, the last district loss had come against Madisonville in 2012.

Impressive season thus far for the Rockets. I thought this game would be closer, but Rockcastle County seems to be playing at a very high level.

First district title for Ludlow since 1975, their only other district championship season. I saw the Panthers lose to Dayton and wasn't impressed but they've really turned it on since then winning five straight.

First ever district championship for Atherton.

Garrard can win if they take care of the football and limit the big plays from Drakeford and Mays.
This is the key for Garrard, in my opinion. Take care of the ball, maximize your own scoring changes, and keep Mercer's offense off the field. Avoid turnovers if you're the Golden Lions and maybe get a couple from Mercer would help, too.

District title on the line, should be a great game.
Winner here avoids a likely long trip to Union County in the second round. Lots riding on this one.

Rock will win but Knox will score some. Rock 48 Knox 21
This is my thought, too. Knox Central has scored on just about everyone while Rockcastle has allowed quite a few points to the good opponents on the schedule. I could see this one being a little closer than your prediction, especially being played at Knox. I'll say Rockcastle County 49 Knox Central 32.

Pulaski has had stretches of football where they have looked like the best team in the district. But I don't think they have put a four quarter game together all season. Pulaski is very young and their youth has been showing week after week.
I thought that might be the case. Pulaski has played a very solid schedule (Pikeville, Corbin, Woodford, plus district games) and their competitiveness has been a mixed bag. It just feels like Southwestern is the better club this time around.

Probably not a game much of the state will be talking about, but this should be one of the premier games in the commonwealth tonight. I'm really excited to see how it plays out.

Huge game tonight. Winner would get a home playoff game and will host the loser of tonight's Logan County/Warren East game. I think the District 1 team would be favored, but I'd much prefer playing at home. The loser of the John Hardin/Nelson County game will have to travel in the first round, playing at the winner of the Logan/Warren East game.

Assuming Franklin County beats Western Hills, tonight's Shelby County/Henry County game will be huge. If Shelby wins there will be a three-way tie between Shelby, Spencer, and North Oldham, which RPI would break. If Henry wins, Spencer would be the 2-seed, North Oldham the 3, Henry the 4, and Shelby County would be on the outside looking in.

Really liked this one. I think it would make a good period piece movie.

I think every team ranked 4-10 is capable of beating and being beat by each other. I trust Belfry more than any other team in that group. I don’t believe any of them can beat CAL, LexCath, or Central.

Caverna clinched their first district championship since 1985 and only the second in school history. Caverna is one of the smallest football playing schools in Kentucky and has had their share of struggles over the years. However, their improvement has been noticeable at the middle school level and now at the high school. The Colonels won first round playoff games in the old Eight-Man system during the early 2000s but will be looking for their first ever playoff win when the postseason starts in a couple of weeks. Congratulations to the Colonels!

It seems like North Laurel is wasting a very good defense with their inability to score on offense.

Good to see two "12th region" schools (to use a basketball term) playing in an important game near the end of the season!
Two old "46th District" schools if you want to get really old school!

Fifth loss this season by a touchdown or less for East Jessamine.

I’ve been telling people for weeks Campbellsville is really good, and I think they will make a game of it with Raceland and Pikeville.
I don’t believe they can beat either of them, but do believe they could hang within two or three touchdowns of them. For people more in the know in Class 1A, how might this Campbellsville team compare to the Russellville team from two years ago that no one really talked about but gave Pikeville all they wanted before ultimately falling by three points in the state final?

Starting to click a little bit. I thought winning at Rockcastle County last season was a good first step for the team and Coach Crutchfield in his first season. A home playoff game in year two is another positive step for the program. They'll be an underdog against Mercer next week but it will be interesting to see where they stand. I'm excited for it.
