You got me to thinking and Trevan Faulkner would be my pick to date. He scored over 1,300 points at the D1 level. Anyone that watched him play in high school knew that he was the real deal.

I have been told that Mercer has lost 9 players in the past 2 seasons that should be playing this season. If that is the case, then their current district 1st place standing (however briefly it may be) is really amazing.

Suspect?!? They should win 20 with no problems considering the teams that they are playing.

Collins beat Anderson last night. I was not there but it looks like they won pretty easily.

What a good surprise to wake up to this morning.

I talked to someone who does know the situation at Mercer and here is the real breakdown. One kid transferred last year to Danville to seek playing time and he is doing good this year. One kid transferred this year to Anderson because his dad thought he should have been starting last year instead of Trevor Ellis. Evidently, there was some major friction between the parent and coach during the season that really escalated this move. One kid transferred back to Boyle once the coaching change at Boyle to place. One kid got injured and is out for the season. Scoring big against mediocre teams does not translate to scoring big against legit opponents. Sometimes numbers can be misleading if you don't really dig into them. It seems to have worked out for the kids (which is good) but their actions have created a mess at Mercer for sure.

21 a game against very weak competition. Definitely a different situation for sure.

That is a pretty good beat down by Great Crossing. I thought that they were in the middle of a rebuild year this season?

Great job! I am surprised at South Oldham but I do not believe that they have been playing at full strength so far. I really look for them to improve as the year goes on. I am also surprised by Anderson's record. However, once you look at their schedule, it is easy to see why. This might be the easiest schedule that I have ever seen for a school their size. Opponents record to date is 31-53 and this does not include Bluegrass United home school. The atmosphere at Collins has to hard on the remaining players. Such a shame that it has come to this for them.

Definitely agree on Anderson having more wins in them. Have you seen their schedule? Pretty weak at best.

Is Somerset maybe not as good as some have said? I have not seen them. I understand the lights out shooting that West had but only scoring 28 points is not a good look.

Dunbar is not very good. I don't think that I would take much from this win other than Driver's size is going to be a problem for most in the 12th.

I heard that Mercer lost at Clay 30-80!! Lincoln also played Harlan Co. before that and did not look good against a revamped team (from what I was told).

Any word on the Anderson scrimmage this past weekend?

I was disappointed with the way that Noah Beasley at Anderson was used last year. I am looking for him to make a big jump as they will have no choice but to use him this season.

Tightening up the transfer rules and enforcement of the rules would help as well. This is way out of hand. All you have to do is have the money to hire a lawyer and you can play 2 different sports at 2 different schools in the same year.

I agree with all that you just said. But you still haven't answered the question as to why they fouled at the end of the game. That is the question. Not if Steve Adams is a good coach (which he is).
