Highlands freshmen beat Elder tonight 31-7 at the Cincy Elder Pit.

To everyone of concern in the football game Cov Cath 35 HHS 21. After much Discussion and Frustration with everyone of concern I talked openly about HHS Team, Coach Sphire, 859sportsradio.com, the attitude of attendees, language of the students, and various other aspects. It’s not a one man operation, it takes a village, as we all know. I will retract my statements that caused all the misunderstanding about this game, retreat back to the nest and keep my Beak quiet. Let bygones be bygones, hopefully everyone will do the same, concentrate on your school, not speculating on what another school is doing, have done or is going to do in the future. I fully understand what you are saying. I have grandchildren in the school and am mortified at what I see and hear. My children went to HHS, hence some of my grandchildren. I wholeheartedly agree, it starts at the top and needs to have the trickle down effect, just like at home. I am hoping to see a difference in this week on the gridiron, in the stands and all around. If not, the Administration needs to be addressed. Thank you for your time to respond to my “rant” in backing me and addressing the situation, as one person cannot be everywhere. It is not a laughing matter, it is sad in my thoughts. To see any High School with lack of self discipline, discipline from any Coach, discipline to put any School Uniform on and display yourself causing personal fouls, several flags thrown and a personal foul on your Coach. The only other thought I can hope is that any School Administration would step in and make it LOUD and clear that the display of discipline would NEVER appear in any game or practice, again. Once you put a Uniform on representing your school and community, you should be the epitome of self respect, school and community respect, playing by the rules of the game. Many people hope the display of said game 8/25/2023 will never be seen again by the team showing such lack of self discipline. I sincerely hope this game can be put in the archives and never be discussed again.

Having watched many Football Games over the years, especially these two teams, I don’t recall ever seeing HIGHLANDS being so undisciplined. Walking on the field, walking off the field. Running in both directions was the norm. Penalty calls for Personal Fouls, Flag, after Flag being thrown against HIGHLANDS, including a Flag thrown on a Coach? Where has the Spirit gone, where has the Pride and Discipline of the School gone. Where has the discipline and Control from a Coach of a TEAM Gone? This game was embarrassing from a School, City, Parent, Grandparent, and Supporters of HIGHLANDS including no need for a loss. 859sportsradio.com It was my belief that whoever was announcing any game should be impartial towards the game. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case last evening. How very sad and disappointing.

I personally don’t think the score reflected the game. Lots of flags thrown, game played closer than the score reflects, IMMHO.
