  1. Death. Taxes. And suspect refereeing during CAL games. Like clockwork.
  2. Based on the cal preps preview the only saving grace for South Oldham could be the D line vs O line matchup although like mentioned above that no huddle offense is an easy way to work around it.
  3. I believe Anderson was put on the schedule by previous Head Coach Jamie Reed just before he resigned. Admittedly Coach Reed liked to play a really tough opponent week 1 and take some lumps to start the season but Anderson is on a different level. It is definitely a question mark when you could probably schedule a tough team from Louisville like a Manual or Ballard and it would probably be closer than against Anderson.
  4. To piggy back off that I think this game is probably decided early. Anderson wins games by putting up a lot of points. So South Oldham is gonna have to figure out their offense really quick in order to stay in the game.
  5. Look I’m a South Oldham guy and they are definitely better this season vs last season. But Anderson is a very very good football team so I would be shocked if Anderson didn’t win.
  6. My main takeaways: CAL will be good. Connor Hodge is not quite as good as his brother but still a more than capable high school QB. CAL has some athletes that can do some things with the ball in space and CAL system is very sophisticated. They will be atop of 3A once again. South Oldham CAN be really good. The pieces are there: big physical defensive line, thick run stopping inside linebackers. Good speed in the defensive backfield. Offensively they have a mammoth at right tackle that they know they can run behind with some talented backs (some of which were out tonight). But they have to learn to execute. There were 3 plays CAL had offensively where there was confusion in the defense and it resulted in a very deep pass play. Take that away and SO was getting stops pretty regularly. The offense was not there tonight to be honest. But I imagine with real football the playbook will be opened up quite a bit more. I mean imagine taking away the qb’s ability to run the ball from a triple option team. If Coach Sams can get the pieces to fit together they can be a very tough out but if not just another decent South Oldham team.
  7. If I had to guess I would say QBs being one hand touch had a huge effect on SO’s offense as most of their plays rely on running with the qb.
  8. Looks like JV will take it from here. Varsity ended 24-7 CAL.
  9. CAL turn over on downs. Punt team coming out. Varsity still out there.
  10. Well CAL varsity O and varsity D out here to start the 4th. I was told 4th quarter would be jv.
  11. end of 3rd quarter and Varsity play is over CAL up 24-7.
  12. SO pass incomplete on 3rd. Punt team comes on.
  13. CAL field goal good. 10-0 CAL 9:19 left in the 2Q.
  14. CAL pass incomplete. Field goal unit coming out.
  15. CAL 3rd down and 4 coming at the 8 yard line.
  16. CAL incomplete on 3rd down but roughing the passer called. 1st down CAL. Tough break for the dragons.
  17. QB keeper for no gain. Not sure why because it’s one hand touch for qb.
