Behymer & Weinrich talk constantly.
Sounds like they have decided to make nice then. I'm only going off of what he told me 🤷♀️

I am hearing it is Brian Weinrich.
That'll be interesting.
At the point in time that Highlands canned Weinrich, Behymer told me that Weinrich was barely on speaking terms with him. As of right now, Behymer is the defensive coordinator at NHS.
If Weinrich is really headed to Newport I guess we'll see if those two can make nice, or if Behymer heads up Memorial Parkway to inquire about job coaching running backs that recently came open. Or maybe he'll surprise us all and head over to his brother-in-law's alma mater and see what the Colonels are up to. -

Has nothing to do with it. I just want to know why the family of the kid in the car with him was told to get it off of Facebook yet Joe feels the need to post it. As I said the kids are fine outside a couple bumps and bruises because they had seatbelts on. Why were their no prayers offered for the passenger by Joe?
You're right, it's just crazy of Joe to ask for prayers for his friend's kid. Shame on him.

Interesting. So Joe Fredrick posted this on Facebook? Why did he post it when the family of the kid in the vehicle with him was told to get it off Facebook shortly after it happened? By the way he and the passenger were not injured as they were wearing seatbelts. Can someone tell me why Joe Fredrick has anything to say at all about the matter?
Joe is a lifelong friend of Chandler's dad, Keith, going back to their youth basketball days. I don't know about you, but I've seen an awful lot of folks post on social media requesting prayers for loved ones and friends. Also relevant, Leann Starks (Chandler's mom) liked Joe's post on Facebook, so I think all is good here. Thanks for your concern though.

I understand Horn will be moving on, any thoughts where he will be? I assume Highlands is in equation if this is true!
Walker has wanted to be back in Texas since the day the Horn family arrived in Kentucky. Given the fact that he was moving away from the place he grew up after a year of high school, I can get it. At one point I know the family was researching whether or not there was a correct channel to allow Walker to move back and stay with an assigned legal guardian while his parents stayed on in Kentucky so Darren could continue as coach at NKU.
Anything can happen, but I think assuming Highlands is the obvious option for Walker's transfer is far off the mark, particularly taking into account the fact that he only has one year of high school left.

Jones is a very good basketball player too. Looking forward to the fall and seeing him back on the grid iron.
Jones is definitely getting attention for football though. An outfit out of Louisiana did a write-up on him last month.
https://www.louisianagridironfootball.com/diamond-in-the-rough-aiden-jones/
"Aiden Jones, class of 2023, is a dual position athlete as he plays both Middle Linebacker and Tight End for the Covington Catholic Colonels out of Park Hills, Kentucky. As a 6’3 225lb Linebacker, Aiden is an aggressive tackler who makes sure that the runner is down. He brings his toughness to every play as he never runs away from a blocker, rather, he runs through them and disengages when need be. Aiden is a pure run stuffer too, he has good patience to allow for a hole in the line to open in up and has the burst to attack and fill the gap. When lined up at Tight End, Aiden is a serviceable blocker, and has solid footwork in his routes to get separation, surprising speed to add on to the initial separation, and finishes it off with good, solid hands to secure the catch. Aiden Jones is very versatile athlete with a good mixture of toughness, speed, and hands. With this mixture, Aiden could be a menace all over the field on Saturdays and has another year to make progress and get even better." -

Starks isn't playing football.
I was dubious from the get-go. But there was certainly a lot of talk about it.

It is hard to believe Cov Cath last won the region in 2005. Could this team break the 15 year drought?
If the 9th region tourney still happens on turf, doubtful.

Hi! My name is Johnny... Johnny Rain Cloud. No matter the situation I enjoy finding the negative in everything!
Hey, haha I only said it made me chuckle. Never said anything about positive or negative. You're the one who mentioned negative 😁

Highlands is doing these senior spotlights on Twitter that I think are a pretty cool notion. One of the details about them gave me a good chuckle though. The 2021 goal for everyone is apparently to "WIN STATE!" But then, there are two things on each of the senior spotlight graphics that are typed in significantly larger text than the 2021 goal, one is the player's name, and then the other one is.......

Did I hear correctly that CCH is gonna have a turf baseball field next year?

Sphire seems like he knows what he's doing. Ain't no school that loves a good hashtag like Highlands loves a good hashtag.

So do we have a new two-sport athlete on the football team?

I'll say it, I think this schedule, THIS year, is a bridge too far. New QB, likely a young QB, and you're throwing him and them to the wolves. You could, conceivably, start out the year 2-3...and if you open with 3 straight losses, who knows how the young men will react. Full faith in Eddie & his staff, but this seems like a tough ask to open the year two those three games, and follow them up with a Dixie team that about got you this year, and then at Beechwood (which is always an odd game given the "rivalry" aspects of it).
I think the results of the first 5 games will tell us how far Eddie has taken the program. If it's a program with a great coach that has top NKY talent or if it's truly elite and just plain reloads.

That is untrue about St. Henry. St. Henry played CCH last week after the freshman tourney starting.
Thanks. I was curious why they any of them would have cancelled in the first place. Did St. Henry end up playing Cooper in Rd 1?

Someone told me that HC, WV and St. Henry all ended their freshman seasons prior to the first round because of COVID precautions.

Marcum played less than 12 minutes total in the game before fouling out. I think he only play 2 and a half minutes in the first half.

Is it a coincidence that local residents don't speed as much when their city is a speed trap?
Newport hires Brian Weinrich as new head football coach.

Can't say I blame him for wanting to get the hell out of Dodge, what with comments like the ones from Against The Grain coming out of the Highlands crowd.
