He was informed that he would no longer be head coach and school wants go in a different direction. Good luck with that PRP. Under Coach Williams PRP has been pretty competitive and got a win over Bullitt East this year. I think they are making a mistake getting rid of him.

I agree 100%.  I'm not sure what they think they're going to find.  Outside of a couple of public schools in Jefferson County like maybe Ballard or Central, it's tough to consistently win at a JCPS school.  I will say that he and his entire staff do a great job truly caring for their kids.  I've seen multiple coaches, especially their DC Coach Kelly, taking kids to offseason camps.  Those guys go above and beyond when it comes to taking care of those kids.  Again, I also think this is a big mistake by PRP, but some other program(s) are going to reap the benefits of it.

With that being said, if they don't go with an internal hire, this would be a good landing spot for a person like Anthony White from Atherton.

Not sure the reason for switching district 4 and 5.  Not usually like that.

I actually like it a bit b/c it gives some variety.  I honestly think, for 6A at least, you could experiment more with moving some districts around in the playoffs.  I think district 1 has to stay playing district 2 just because of the proximity of schools like McCracken County, but the other 6 districts (3-8) could be interchangeable.  Next year they could do 1V2, 3V6, 4V5, & 7V8 or even mix it up further.  From Meade. Co to Campbell Co. or Madison Central is just a little over 2 hours so the drive isn't bad so I don't see why you couldn't even have 3V8, 4V5 & 6V7 and so on.  The rest of the classes might be a bit different due to geography, but 6A could change things up and not cause teams to have to travel great distances for the most part.

As mentioned, Ryle had no cupcakes. 8 of their 11 games they were underdogs or at best, evenly matched games. The other 3 were Campbell County, Conner, and Great Crossings who aren’t push overs. I would assume that with a weaker schedule, his All State #’s would look even better.

So they were underdogs or at best evenly matched against Southern?  Anyway, nobody is disparaging the young man.  I guess it’s a good thing they have a cupcake tomorrow night, with the weak schedule BE has played and all.  Anyway, question for everyone….what is a good place to eat in Union?

I believe it is RO working on one of his passions in life, analytics.  I do not believe there is any way that RO would ever take a shot at a high school football player.

I can't see that either.  But to be honest, it's not the TD/INT ratio that surprises me per se.  Ryle puts the ball in the air quite a bit so the 8 INTs aren't necessarily surprising to me, but the fact he only has 24 TD passes this season.  As solid of a QB as he is and the fact they put the ball in the air as much as they do (they have almost more pass completions this year than rushing attempts), I figured he would have well over 30 at this point in the season.

I think what's hurting Bullit East in the polls is the lack of a signature win. Theyre best 2 wins are Fern Creek and Woodford. Ryles best 2 wins are both convincing wins over Cooper and Dixie Heights. Also if you look at their schedules. Male is the only impressive team that Bullit East played. On the other hand Ryle has played CovCath, Cooper, Highlands, Cal, and St. X. So they're coming into this game more battle tested. As much as I'd like to see BS get a rematch against Bullit East, I think Ryle will be the one making the trip to Lexington next Friday.

Fair points, but I think BE’s best win might be Central.  Same Central team that played CAL & St. X closer than Ryle did.  Now, what does that mean?  Nothing come Friday night.  It’s just a question of which BE shows up.  That has been their problem all year.  They’ve been terribly inconsistent.  BE will have to generate pressure on Verax Friday night.  If he’s able to sit back and play pitch & catch with his receivers, it could be a long night for BE.  Offensively, BE has to establish the run.  In fact, if they can average 5 or 6 YDs per carry, I think their offense can somewhat keep pace with Ryles offense.

Just re-read how I came across relaying that information. It wasn't meant to be a snooty retort. I asked this question to a friend of mine who use to officiate, because the exact scenario happened. As one would guess we were all confused.

I didn't take it that way, but even if you did, I would have deserved it 🙂  I was wrong on the ruling and criticizing, which is not a good look.

The enforcement of DPI was the correct one. If a defensive penalty occurs on a scoring play the offense can choose to enforce on the try or kickoff. So maybe you don't know the rules like you think you do?

Maybe I don't.  I appreciate you pointing the correct ruling out to me.

That is one of the worst officiated 3 minutes in the history of KY high school sports.

No way that white hat has a game this weekend.  None.

I never gripe about officials in terms of calls, judgement decisions, and the like, but this was a lack of game control...among other things.

Reminds me of the white hat BE had against Meade Co.  It was late in the game & a bit chippy.  BE was up by 30.  It was a running clock b/c earlier the lead was 36.  Anyway, one of the last plays of the game, Meade Co. throws a TD pass & an official throws a PI flag on BE.  Meade Co. obviously takes the TD instead & kicks the XP….or so we thought.  On the ensuing kickoff, the officials place the ball at the 50.  When they were questioned, the white hat explained the PI penalty was being enforced on the kickoff 🤷🏻‍♂️.  Tried to explain it wasn’t a dead ball foul so either Meade Co. takes the result of the play or they take the penalty.  The white hat insisted the rule states the PI penalty is enforced on the kickoff.  Now, I try not to get upset about judgement calls & typically try to put myself in the officials shoes & think to myself “would I have possibly made that call?”  But, there is absolutely no excuse for some of the calls, non calls & lack rules knowledge & enforcement we see today.  I know official numbers are low, which means experience is low, but I see why some people get upset.  Then again, even when I get upset at an official, I don’t do or say some of the things that some “adults” do or say from the stands.  That’s ridiculous.

I feel like it's been called a lot in the games I've watched this year.

I couldn't find stats on high school, but it's 1 of every 5 penalties called in the NFL.

I wish we had the refs you’ve seen in the high school games you’ve watched then.  Holding occurs on every play, but as long as it’s kept inside the OL’s frame, it’s fine IMO.  The problem I have is when it’s obvious & egregious & a ref is right in front of it…. and just stares with no flag thrown.

Simon Kenton usually has a pretty decent defense. I was extremely disappointed in their defense this year. And the worst part was, it didn't seem to get any better during the season. Never really improved.

For the last 4 years, SK averages giving up about 30 pts. per game each year.  That might get you a winning regular season & even win a playoff game or two, but eventually, you have to play defense to advance in the playoffs.

You do realize he and Chris Wolf( Male) were HS and college teammates? Two good guys. Brian knows football. Continued good luck to him and the Camels!!

Everybody has faults so I don’t hold it against him 😆.  In all seriousness, I wonder how much administrative support they get?  They had a pretty decent crowd come down to Mt Washington last night so it seems the community support might be there.
