  1. BE should be able to put up points on Fern Creek.  The question will be if Fern Creek can run the ball on BE.  If they can keep their offense balanced, this will be a close game.  If they have to rely on the passing game because BE shuts down their run, it’ll be a long night for Fern Creek.  Regardless, these two teams tend to play each other closely, so I’ll go with:

    BE - 27

    Fern Creek - 14

"Best" is such a difficult definition in HS football these days because College "projection" does not always line up with just how good the kid is.  Plus, its really hard to compare across position groups.  Is Benke playing great?  Absolutely.  Could he be the Travis Egan of this year?  Looks like it.  Is he the "best" player in NKY?  I think he's in the conversation, but there are a handful of kids who can lay claim to that.

Absolutely agree with 💯 of this!

What about? Start a new thread to talk about them. Those two are great player and deserve their own thread.

Don’t have a dog in the fight, but the title kinda invites some others to refute that if they have a difference of opinion.  They mentioned Austin Alexander & Cam O’Hara. In a normal discussion, you then state why you believe Benke is the better player.  The floor is yours….

Thanks and these two teams are not even close and Roncalli looks decent.

Roncalli defense simply can’t keep up with Male’s speed on offense.  The Roncalli offense is moving the ball with the run game, but Male will get 1 or 2 TFLs & put Roncalli’s offense in passing situations.  When you want to run the ball 80-90% of the time, having to rely on the pass is a recipe for disaster.

Yep, that stinks, but even if it was the playoff format from two years ago where the first 2 rounds were intra-district, 2 of those 4 top 25 teams still wouldn't make the quarterfinals.  I'm actually interested to see how the KHSAA does things when it gets to the 3rd round.  There are scenarios where Districts 1-4 could have 5 or 6 teams left in the quarterfinals and Districts 5-8 could have 2 or 3 teams left and vice-versa.  How would they do the quarterfinals then?

Can you post the same for Trinity so we can compare them with this one?

Basically, you’re punished for playing ANY out of state competition.  You could play the #1 team from a state & win or play the worst team from a state & your opponent RPI for that game is .51060.  It’s something the KHSAA needs to learn how to tweak & has been since the inception of RPI.

I was too TBC!  So I went and looked at the info on the riherds KHSAA page and noticed 2 important starters for Manual didn't play.  SO RB Gerian Traynor, who had 160 yards rushing vs South Warren, who I know you know is a stingy rush defense and WR/S Aiden Blakey.  2 pretty important guys for Manual.

    Manual had -15 yards rushing.

Not to take away from a very talented CAL team, but just to balance the equation some.

No doubt that hurts Manual, plus not having Zeke Washburn, but they still scored 36 points, which to not have those players and still score that many is surprising.  However, what surprised me the most was them giving up 54.  I know CAL has a nice offense, but I would not have guessed that Manual would give up 54 points to them.
