I think the key to this game was defense. Ashland kept Shepard under control and defended the rest of the team too.

Agreed. Ashland took away the fast break rather well too. Noticed NL likes to leak out and get the break started. When Sellars nailed one, stole it, then nailed another in the first quarter you could tell it was going to be a long night.

You can make faces all you want @nikeman49 but when it comes down to it, Allen just really only does one thing well right now and that's stand still and shoot.

I think he will add quite a bit more to his game, even going into next year, but right now, he just isn't that good and if he wasn't from KY, no one would be begging for him to get more time.

Hit the nail on the head.

It's also a local rivalry game. Are you advocating Corbin drop Whitley and play Beechwood?

Not at all. I was referencing the statement of being a cancellation away from the 1 seed.

Corbin would get more though from Beechwood than Whitley. I predict Whitley does worse next year than they did this year.

Corbin had a heck of a year last year and even with that loss to Beechwood was a cancellation away from having the number 1 overall seed in last year’s tournament the way it was going. I would like to have kept that Beechwood series on the schedule myself. This team will have a lot of talent ready to play this schedule. Some nice matchups and I look for Corbin to have another great year.

Whitley was 2-5 with teams like Bell, North, South, and Hazard on their schedule (bad records for opponents opponents win percentage). I believe that game could have lowered their RPI.

Cats get a commitment from Trevin Wallace a consensus 4-star LB out of Georgia.  Picks UK over Georgia and Auburn among his many offers.  Big-time pickup for the Cats in a position of need.  Wallace is the 4th highest ranked recruit in the Stoops era behind Justin Rogers, Landon Young and Jager Burton.  Kentucky finishes off this class ranked #31 in the nation while only taking in 18 commits.  Including all the transfers this is a very solid class coming in.

Huge get today for the Cats. #2 ILB in the country and top 40 player in the country. He's the real deal.
