I think Dawson will be playing DB at the next level, but yes, still a big loss. I'm thinking another year of Tavey will be able to make up for anything they lost from last year's team. I can't think of a more slam dunk pick for Mr. Football at this point of the preseason than Tavey going in to this year.
He's playing QB and baseball for Air Force.

How does St. Edwards compare to the Hoban team from Akron that Frederick Douglass played last season?
They beat Hoban.

Top 5 is high praise for what is returning next season. Maybe I'm not as familiar with them, but I would say Pulaski Co, Rock, DCA, Wayne, Mercer, Lincoln in some order before I would think of West Jess.
Wayne may be taking a hit this week.

I once heard someone say when you have all the measaurables colleges look for it's not about proving you can play, you have to prove you can't play to lose offers.

Boyle has found their week 3 game. They will be traveling to play St. Edwards Ohio. St. Eds finished #31 in Cal Preps and #16 in Max Preps for the final HS rankings. They have won 3 state championship in a row. The game will be played Saturday September 7th at 1PM EST.

I think if Paducah played at least 3 of the 4 of Mayfield, Bowling Green, Owensboro, and South Warren. Added a team from across the border that was solid. Then played their 5 team district that would go a ways for them. It doesn’t help a team with multiple 2-4 stars playing McCracken, Graves, Russellville, and Hendo.

Sounds like your saying Graves county is not a good team which they are.
The best team Graves beat all year was Greenwood and they got shellacked by Bowling Green 51-3. I'm not sure how good of a year that is. Good with wins and losses I guess.

Let's take out Russellville, which we all agree needs to be replaced on the PT schedule. Beyond that, PT has the defending 2A champion, the 5A district 1 runner up, the 6A District 1 first place team and another 6A team but their schedule is terrible? If PT could replace Russellville with a top level 3A-6A team, their non district schedule will be above average to top 10, depending on who they can replace Russellville with.
Mayfield and Henderson County are the only two good teams on their schedule. I know they're pushed far out West, but they should be able to play a really good team out of Nashville each year. Boyle played Gibson Southern and it's not like that killed their RPI. With PT going undefeated and still having the fifth best RPI, (albeit I know RPI isn't the end all be all), but it does sort of show they need to beef up their schedule.

Wayne Mills returns back to KC where he had originally coached back in 2004 before going to Bell. He was currently at Corbin coaching DBs before taking this job.

It feels like the old heads are jealous of the attention she’s already getting without having played anytime in the WNBA. I could be wrong, I’m just going off the vibe I get.

Bug was a heck of a RB in middle school. Surprised he doesn’t have any packages at all that get him the ball. Really solid player.

I would think Allen Mitchell would be a front runner. Was hired as an assistant. Wasn’t doing a bad job at South before they brought in Hines. Knox has good talent coming up, just have to keep them there.

What is not true from the 2020 season and going into the 2024 it will be the 4th coach in the last 5 seasons. If a kid was a freshman in 2020 he would have had 3 coaches in his 4 seasons it doesn't matter how long the coach was there before that season. However as I said in my post starting with the 2020 season to this upcoming season it will be their 4th coach in those 5 seasons.
I get the narrative you’re trying to paint. My bad. Could’ve also said 4th coach in 7 seasons. Either way.

This job was posted on the Knox Co. website on Thursday. Not sure if Coach Buckner resigned or relieved of his duties. Coach Dustin Buckner was 5-6 last season and was 10-12 in just 2 seasons. This upcoming season the Panthers will have 4 head coach in the last 5 years.
That’s not true. Dustin Buckner was HC 22-23 season. Travis McDaniel 21 season. Fred Hoskins was 2017-2020.

Ouch. Yeah, those are some huge losses. I didn’t know about the early graduates.
It’s not for sure. But just speculating, they’re all pretty high football recruits who will want to get a leg up on the competition.

I doubt Boyle is more consistent. They lose Avery Bodner to graduation. But will also like lose Montavin Quisenberry, Demauriah Brown, and Brock Driver to early graduation for football.

13th Region Off-Season Discussion Hub
With the 2023-2024 season over, all the talk will be what happens next? Harlan County went on a special run that led them to the state finals where they just came up short.
- Will the return of Maddox Huff, Jaycee Carter, Reggie Cottrell, and Brody Napier be enough to help Harlan County repeat?
- South is likely the preseason favorite only graduating Hunter Bundy. Can Jordan Mabe and Colton Rawlings get South Laurel back over the hump?
- Bell County had zero seniors, can they push Harlan County for district and be a region dark horse?
- Corbin graduates energizer bunny Zander Curry, Carter Stewart, and Trey Worley. Can they repeat in the 50th district?
- Clay County had Harlan County on the ropes. They graduate Elijah Bundy and Hayden Harris, but they bring back Jerrod Roark, Ethan Jackson, and Adon Grubb. Can Coach Jones keep things turned around and continue to build in Manchester?
- Pineville brings back Moser and Sawyer Thompson, can they knock off Knox Central in the 51st?
- Knox loses Gavin Chadwell, but brings back everyone else. Can Coach Madden build off of the momentum of making it to the region semi's?
- Can North build back with the trio of Jordon Rawlings, Reece Davidson, and Kole Jervis?
- Will any players or coaches change squads in the offseason? The 13th region offseason shuffle can get interesting at times.
Notable Graduates
🎓 Trent Noah (Harlan County/Region POY) | Caleb Johnson (Harlan County) | Zander Curry, Carter Stewart, Trey Worley (Corbin) | Elijah Bundy, Hayden Harris (Clay County) | Bryce Anderson, Danny Ellis, Lucas Queener (Whitley County) | Brody Brock, Cole Messer, Krish Patel (North Laurel) | Gavin Chadwell (Knox Central)
Feel free to discuss all things 13th region related.

Was there wiggle room on the contract? I think Lincoln was originally scheduled to play Lafayette last season but something came up and they added Scott County pretty last-minute. I'll assume it was a 2-year deal but someone more in the know can maybe confirm.
There wasn't. They paid the money to buy out of the contract.

Can you blame them? lol.
Yes. Don't schedule and agree to contracts that you don't plan on fulfilling.

Appears from the schedule Lincoln is now playing Danville in that week 3 game. Which must mean Lincoln bought out of their Scott County game.

Admin should keep the parents out of it. If Atney and Fugate are better they should’ve started. It shouldn’t be based off who’s went to school there longer. Sucks for Coach Story.
