  1. Here's a likely scenario: A. Round 3 Districts 1-4 -(1st RPI v 4th RPI): Edmonson County at LCA/Somerset -(2nd RPI v 3rd RPI): Owensboro Catholic at Mayfield Districts 5-8 -(1st RPI v 4th RPI): Walton Verona at Breathitt County -(2nd RPI v 3rd RPI): West Carter at Beechwood B. Round 4 - Seeding no longer by district. Now based on RPI of remaining teams -(1st RPI v 4th RPI): Beechwood at LCA/Somerset -(2nd RPI v 3rd RPI): Breathitt County at Mayfield
  2. -Laziness -Lack of appreciation and/or feeling of entitlement due to past success -Maybe NCC is no longer considered a rival after 10 year class separation? -Failure to engage with surroundings due to obsession with cell phones and social media (and this is coming from a "millennial") -Hoarse voice from cheering on the Bengals during a bye week -Opposition to loud noises and contact sports -Taking melatonin for dessert Maybe none, some, or all of the above? I don't know. I just know that BW fans need to turn it up.
  3. Everything regarding the game itself has been said. What stood out to me, however, was the lack of enthusiasm and cheering by Beechwood fans. I have never been so disappointed in Beechwood's crowd. The attendance was decent/good, but it reminded me more of a dull golf tournament. The crowd made nearly ZERO noise (apart from a few dads who cheered loudly) before every big defensive situation in this game. Even when Beechwood scored or made a big play, nearly no reaction from the fans. The only time a majority of Beechwood fans were on their feet was during the last 2 minutes of the game when NCC got the ball back. And even then it was underwhelming. As a former 13 year student, football alum, and lover of everything Beechwood, this is the only time I have ever felt true REAL disappointment with anything Beechwood. Honestly, I was disgusted by it. I was sitting third row center on the bleachers and personally had to try to get people to cheer louder and stand up during big plays. Beechwood fans need to show some excitement and cheer on their players. Those who have played in the big games know that the crowd has an enormous effect on the morale of both teams. It can change the outcome of games. Kudos to NCC fans for showing up and voicing their support. Beechwood fans showed up, but were dormant. Rant concluded.
  4. Any idea why the Highlands quarterback was replaced in the second half with the 3rd string QB, instead of the QB that starts for Highlands' JV? I thought the JV starter (a sophomore) had beaten out the young man that got the start in the 2nd half...
  5. Corbin does not have the size/athleticism combination up front that made Somerset so formidable. Good size, but not the same combo as above. Beechwood has been able to hold its own so far up front. Very impressive. And throwing the ball well.
  6. 5 St. X 3 Somerset 3 Anderson County 1 Owensboro 1 Campbellsville 1 Ironton (OH) 1 Central 1 Hopkinsville 1 North Hardin 1 Scott County TB - 40
  7. How does Somerset's line stack up? Beechwood doesn't have much size this year. With three athletes sidelined with injuries and not able to back up the line, Beechwood could be in for a long night if Somerset has good size. With that said, Coach Rash will still likely implement different looks this week to confuse Somerset's offense. Still, size takes a toll, especially when playing both ways. I just hope it's a good game with no injuries. Will be interesting if these two meet up again in November!
