  1. The interim is not getting the job, may stay on as assistant but is not getting the job. A lot of names circulating for this one, coaches with state championships, coaches who have coached Mr. Basketballs and coaches who have coached undefeated regular seasons. Will be interesting to see if they go old or young.

There are a lot of rumors flying down in Wayne County right now.  Parmley is the most prominent one.  There is another rumor that would shock the 12th region but it just doesn't hold water in my opinion.

Parmley does have experience as an assistant coach with Monticello which consolidated with Wayne about 10 years ago.  Parmley also started Kentucky Premier AAU with another person and coached girls in that organization for a few years.  I believe he sold his part of KP a couple years ago and started MaxRPM Elite.  Wayne players are familiar with him from camps and such that he has put on.  Some players even have individual workouts with him on a fairly regular basis.

Whoever is named coach, their first order of business is trying to keep the roster intact.  Second order of business is building a quality staff.

That is great information was unaware of most of that. If he is the coach, I personally think that makes him pretty decent hire and he might be able to hold the roster in tact. Wayne County going into next year will be one of the top 2-3 teams in the 12th region if not the favorite. If Coach Woods had returned on the sidelines for 24-25, I believe most think they would have been the favorite.

Will be interested to see how Jasper Johnson on Link Academy (Woodford Co.) plays as well as any players who have committed to Kentucky. Enjoy @LouHSJunkiewhere is the tournament being played at?

Jasper started and played essentially the whole game both games.

In two games he went 4-24 from the field, 1-13 from three and had 1 assist in two games from the PG spot.

  4. Allen County Scottsville is open and posted on the KHSAA site.

The patriots haven’t seen a lot of success recently, they haven't won a regional title since 1996 and I don’t believe been in the championship since then either.

The principal in Scottsville is from Hardin County, will he try to lure someone down 65 or take someone with 4th region connections.

That’s a solid list of names.  I keep hearing Steve Wright.

I haven’t heard his name but it wouldn’t surprise me. Anytime can get a coach with a state championship on resume.

I am surprised he would go to West at this stage considering they aren’t projected high in the 12th next season.

  6. They have a phenomenal group of incoming 7th graders stacked with two good classes behind them who have dominated the area on the youth football scene.

Whomever takes over this job if they can hold it, by their fourth year they will be competing for hardware and by their sixth year competing for a spot at Kroger field.

  7. I believe this will be an internal hire for the Pirates as the middle school coach will be brought up to the high school level. They just graduated a good senior class and have a similar class or two coming up he has coached and had success with.

Big Joe and the locals in Stanton are perplexed why the Pirates never contend for the region title while being one of the 3 largest schools within the 14th region.

  8. Three names immediately come to mind for this one.

1.) Andrew Case, internal hire if he wants it this time.

2.) John Michael Reitz, dad was former coach there for years, he played there and also been head coach at Williamstown and Nicholas County. He was runner-up to Brooks last time for the position.

3.) Matthew Taylor - former player for the Breds, started on the last team who went to state from Cynthiana. Taylor was head coach at St. Pat and I believe elsewhere in the area at one time. Taylor is currently in Texas or Oklahoma so not sure if he would be interested in a return to the 10th region. Taylor also has college experience at UTEP.

@DragonFire I know it’s been long time since somebody other than BG or Central has won the 4th region, who was the last to do it?

Greenwood in 2008 is the last time someone other than Bowling Green or Warren Central won the region.

Russellville in 2001 is the last time someone outside of the 14th district won the regional title.

Glasgow has multiple internal individuals within the system whom could be strong candidates if they choose to apply. A former multi decade head coach boys and girls side, a former boys head coach and also a former UK player and Mr. basketball.
