GC, how would you describe Graves Oline and Dline?

Oline is young, (4 sophomores) but decent size. They seem to be getting better each week. Its hard to say how far they have came, because the schedule is pretty weak throughout the district games. Owensboro game was rough, but I don't think we played to our potential at all.

Defensively we are quick up front. Similar to offense not huge, but decent size. Much more experience on that side and I would say very athletic for a D-Line.

We have shown flashes of what we could be. We played with Bullit East for a quarter and a half, we played with Mayfield for almost 3 quarters, and we gave Paducah a scare. This is before Paducah completely fell apart. I'm not saying in anyway do we beat those teams or had a realistic chance of winning against Mayfield or Bullit, but at times we held our own. We just have to do that for four quarters. Might be my blue glasses I’m looking through, but I believe these boys can.

I thought Denis Marrs was a good back, but don't think he's played since the Bullitt East game.  Is he out for the year?  I know he took a good shot in the 1st series of the 2nd half of the BE game, so was just wondering.  I know Graves will play hard, especially being at home, but having seen both teams in person this year, I think South Warren will have just a little too much for the young Graves team.  I'll take South Warren by 3 TDs.

That is accurate. He hasn't played since that game and was the workhorse. Him playing is not injury related. Personal issues. He’s a good kid, but he's a kid, and feel we should leave it at that.

Graves has developed a 1-2 punch with Katzman and Goodman running the ball. Goodman plays wr and then will move inside to run it some. The offense almost had to restart when it lost him. A lot of adversity for our team this year, but they have handled it well and I hope it pays off this week.

Yeah I don’t get it. Either they really are that undisciplined and poorly coached or they think they’re HOTT stuff. Surely it’s not the latter because this team has proven nothing. They haven’t won anything! They got beat by Murray and blown out by Beechwood last year. This year they have won 1 meaningful game. I know it seems like I’m bashing them, and I’m not, I just want them to play the way we all know they can. Cause this isn’t it.

    Poorly coached?

You guys are hilarious, try living in a state like Colorado where teams travel 5-6 hours to play teams in their district and if they make it to the state tournament, they can travel as much as 8-10 hours on a school bus to play. Example would be Durango High School in southwest Colorado playing in the Denver area or further north for a playoff game.

Seems like they need to completely overhaul their system if that is the case. I understand traveling once in the playoffs, but don't make it cost thousands of dollars in travel every week for kids to play high school football.

There certainly are districts in Kentucky where that still happens. Take 4A District 6, for example: Boyd County, Harrison County, Holmes, Rowan County, Scott.

Rowan County is 96 miles from Holmes, 95 miles from Scott, 64 miles from Harrison County, and 51 miles from Boyd County.

Boyd County is 131 miles from Holmes, 130 miles from Scott, 113 miles from Harrison County, and 51 miles from Rowan County.

Harrison County is 113 miles from Boyd County, 64 miles from Rowan County, 57 miles from Holmes, and 56 miles from Scott..

The only game in the entire district with less than a 50 mile drive each way is Holmes vs. Scott.

Graves has to have everyone beat in travel for district games

    Muhlenberg County - 90 miles

    Ohio County - 110 miles

    Owensboro - 110 miles

    Grayson County - 140 miles

Breckenridge County - 140 miles (county roads for a fourth of the trip)

  6. I imagine the Eagles are setting pretty much where they expected to be at this point. Very young team that has gotten better as the season has went on. Against Mayfield the defense held on as long as possible, but offense gave Mayfield too many chances by all the 3 and outs. They had Paducah on the ropes and could have stolen the game, but just too many missed opportunities. They clocked McCracken which is now significant after seeing their score with South Warren. Bullet East was the best team on the schedule and it showed.

Since then they have added wins through district play. Many new faces have started showing up on this Eagles offense. The Offense will be the deciding factor on if the Eagles can play with Owensboro, can the offense put together drives and keep the defense off the field? The defense is actually pretty dang good and my Eagles are known to win a game or two they aren’t suppose to each year. They haven’t yet this year. Hopefully, that changes this week.

Final from Marquette Stadium. Mayfield was pressed into using some really young players due to the injuries sustained last week. To the Mustangs credit, they went after those young guys and scored some points.  Mayfield also lost the starting running back, Starks, during the game. No word yet as to how severe the injury.

Dang. That is not good. First Jax and now Starks? Hopefully, a sprained ankle or something. I saw in another thread Jax is coming back? Did he not tear his Acl?

  8. After a high scoring affair last year, the Chargers will make the long journey to the Jackson Purchase Region to face the Eagles at Jay F. Buckley Field. The Chargers brought a ton back while Graves lost almost everything offensively. The Eagles are 1-2 and are starting to find their groove offensively, while their defense has been pretty solid this year. Chargers are 1-1 and to be honest, I know very little about their team this year. I would imagine they have the edge after missing a FG to win it last year and bringing most of their guys back.

    Thoughts?

Mayfield should take care of business and get it done with whoever it is that is healthy enough to play. Last week with Tilghman was an all out war and we won the game, but at what price? Huge blow to the Cardinals to lose Rogers. But even without him, Mayfield wins by 3 touchdowns.

Hopefully, you guys can get healthy over the next few games. I just looked at the schedule and the next 5 opponents have a combined record of 1-17. This is good news in terms of getting healthy, but might absolutely kill the rpi for that home game in the final four.

Is the Heath, Reidland and old Lone Oak starting to show up now that PT has the momentum?

It’s a long story and I only have second hand knowledge. Local millionaire didn’t get his way at McCracken so he took kid and like 30 other kids and certain coaches to Paducah when they were in middle school. Buys turf field, indoor facility, uniforms, etc.

Theres more to the story I’m sure, but that’s the gist of what I have gathered.
