  1. The stadium is being designed for easy expansion. If they're selling out 21k every game for two or three years in the new stadium, they will have room to increase to 25k with relatively easy installation. I believe they are also working on ways to bump up to 30k beyond that with a second expansion if necessary. We'll see how necessary that is, though. If the team is still mid-to-bottom on the table in year three at the new stadium, I doubt they'll have need to expand. But that's five years out, and attendance should be good until then just based on hype. Two years of 25k+ on average at Nippert behind the MLS hype, followed by a year or two of sellouts at the new joint regardless of how good or bad they are based on "new home" hype. Year three in the new place will start to tell the story.
  2. Sounds like Cincy will start MLS play in '19. They'll play in Nippert for two years while the new stadium is built. I also think there's a chance they try to keep a few guys from the current squad. Ledesma, Albadawi, and Lasso are guys that had been tabbed as having "MLS potential" before Cincy signed them. Pretty sure Albadawi even signed a multi-year contract so he could be one of the foundational players if they made the move. Of course, if the expansion pool is attractive enough, it could be a 100% overhaul. But Ledesma and Albadawi are both creative enough in the offensive third to at least be bench players for an MLS side, and Lasso is solid enough to be a depth piece on defense.
  3. He said that he would shut the team down? I think that would have been a pretty big headline, but I haven't seen anything.
  4. I don't think that's true. Sounds like fear-mongering or rumors from people unhappy with Berding. There will absolutely be a scale-back if they don't get the MLS bid. They will work with a roster, support staff, and payroll closer to what other USL teams work with. But there's also another round of expansion if Cincy can't figure out the stadium and gets passed by Sacramento. That would give Cincy another year to figure out the West End site. I don't think the franchise would ever "close up shop" at this point, though. They would keep playing in Nippert and wait for the day in the not-so-distant future where the USL can challenge MLS, or when there is promotion/relegation.
  5. Probably going to get Holtmann over anyone. Going to be tough for OSU to hold on to him.
  6. But coaches can take new jobs and the players that came to play for him and not some school have to stay for a new coach they didn't sign up to play for. Seems fair. Freedom to transfer should happen.
  7. You are correct. They'll probably get a 3rd round comp pick. He'll get a big enough contract to deem that so.
  8. I think Bobby's days are numbered. He & Jurich were really tight (Montana boys). He lost his only cheerleader. Unless he wins 9+ games, he's probably gone. New AD will probably want someone new, his guy.
  9. You would think banning themselves last year should suffice, but who knows with the unbalanced punishing of the NCAA. MSU will probably walk scotch free like UNC (and probably Baylor).
  10. He has to be better than Peter Sirmon. Probably moving back to a 4-3D.
  11. Yeah, just a generalization. Still they get to count their 10 championships before 1947 (Jackie Robinson & Larry Doby). Seems silly the NFL doesn't count NFL Championships before the Super Bowl.
  12. UofL alum Eric Wood (and Elder HS grad) has announced his retirement. Sad to see him go with this type of injury. Another UofL Football player from that time (05-08) has to end career with spinal/neck issues. Mike Donoghue, Deantwan "Peanut" Whitehead, & Marcel Benson all had similar-ish injuries that ended their careers early at UofL. Eric Wood of Buffalo Bills has career-ending neck injury
  13. I would hope Brohm would jump at the opportunity to jump back to UofL.
  14. UofL hires former NotreDame D-Coordinator Brian VanGorder for the same position. Louisville names Brian VanGorder new defensive coordinator

  16. It's absolutely ridiculous. If the Yankees get to count their World Series championships from the 1910-20s on, then the Browns should be able to count their World Championships.
  17. This Michigan St craziness may help UofL somehow. The NCAA is so screwed. If their President really new about 37 reported assaults, how can any school take anything they state seriously.
