I agree, @Brown...hate it for him, his teammates, and the staff. -

Different ballgame with Wright....Trojans struggled to pick up 1st downs. Hard to win like that. Defense and special teams kept them with a fighters chance! -

Followed along, heck of a switch-up by Coach Wallace...really wish Lavell played and they could've gotten them full strength. That's 2 years in a row they haven't been able to give X or T 100%. Last year, Wimberly, who was qb basically all season with more explosive wideouts, injured his leg and couldn't play. Congrats to X. They eliminated NH in this round 16 years ago. -

I think I agree with you there, Purple. -
Completely understand...Trinity still looks like a longshot. Male, I think NH's D would keep them in the game and it'd be similar to the Douglass game.
-
NH may not be as explosive offensively, but their defense is better. I think they are better than last year. Enough said.
-
Male and NH are a close #2 this year, so not sure the reason for the slight.

It's no different than in basketball with the first round of the district tournament, there are often blowouts. This is literally the same thing. The first round of the football playoffs are the first round of district basketball tournaments in Kentucky. Like someone said above, if they did away with the district lock down and let maybe the top 2 in each district in and used the RPI to let the next top 16 teams like a "wild card" instead of the top 4 in each district, I think that'd help make some of those games with the 1 seed more competive. -
Happy for the dogs! Whatever happened to Coach Jim Franklin?

Tip of the hat to the dogs...with very little depth, they pitched the s/o! Tip of the hat to ole Coach Hopkins! Happy for Coach Nevels! Edit to add: Holmes just clobbered and goose egged a team who's RPI is considerably better and would have them rated 5th and Holmes would be 10th in 4a. -

Crazy, because I don't think that was one of Meade's strengths?

LOL at the not last night part. That's a good question, I haven't seen BG play yet this year, so I can't give an honest opinion. They only have one common opponent in South Warren, and NH plays them this Friday, I guess we'll be able to have a hint to how them and BG would match-up after that. Another part of that might be seeing how st. X does with Douglass this Friday, also.
