Fryman walked. Runners on first and second no outs. Pitching change for Ryle. AJ Davis pitched well. Issac Curry coming in.

Lead off hittter hit a ball to center and the center fielder dove but dropped the ball. Tyler Fryman up.

Tigers dodged a huge bullet there. The bunt was a curious call as all it did was move the runner from first to second. Lost a chance to get the run in.

Ryle starts the inning with a base hit. Next batter hit a chopper that went over the 3rd baseman’s head as he pulled in expecting a bunt. Next batter hit a fly out to right and the runner tagged at second and went to third. Next batter bunted and was thrown out at first but runner stayed at 3rd with 2 outs. Next batter lined out to first to end the threat. Tigers due up in the bottom of the 5th.

Zac Tru flies out to left and Tigers get a run on the board as Brooks Becker tagged and scored. Next batter grounded out to end the inning. Tigers lead Ryle 1-0 headed into the top of the 5th.

Bases loaded 1 out as Mando walked. Zac Tru up

Tigers have an inning going 2 on 1 out. Arrasmith just had a bunt hit. Both stole so scoring position.

Whoops sorry about not posting anything. Been chatting away. Score is 0-0 in the bottom of the 4th Tigers coming to bat. AJ Davis and Sawyer Carlisle both pitching very well. Tigers have 1 hit and Ryle has 3 hits. All hits have been ground balls in the right holes.

South Oldham wins the 8th Region Crown beating North Oldham 11-1 in 6 innings.

Beautiful evening for a Region Champion to be crowned. I might be the most unbiased observer tonight as I have loved and rooted for both of these teams for a long time. I will be happy for whoever hoists the trophy tonight and be proud of the team that came up just short and feel for their Seniors. I hope for a close down to the wire game tonight!!!! Good luck to both teams.

Tonight’s game was a real pitching duel till Bushman wore down in the 7th. Both teams consistently had runners on but each pitcher figured ways out of it. Arrasmith went the distance for the Tigers and he started to get a little erratic in the 7th but got the last 2 outs to move Tigers to the Regional Final. Once the rain stopped after the Ryle game it was a beautiful night for baseball. Looking forward to Thursday. Beechwood in a better spot pitching wise as Ryle used 1 and 2 the last 2 games. Should be fun.

It also gives more importance on the entire regular season and not just your District games. I feel like the regular season is just to get you ready for the post season push and it doesn't have any bearing on who you will play or if you lose now its no big deal. I think you should be required to play all the teams in your Region once through the year and then take the overall records from the regular season and sort it that way. I know you will have teams playing lighter schedules to get a higher seed but could be to their determent.

All the seeds have been confirmed but I still haven't seen if the drawing has happened. Here are the 1 and 2 seeds heading into the 9th Region: 1 seed: Beechwood, Dixie, Highlands, and Conner. 2 seed: Cov Cath, St. Henry, NCC, and Ryle. Hopefully the drawing results are posted soon.

At this point we currently know the 8 teams that will be participating in the 9th Region Tournament that will begin on Memorial Day from Thomas More Stadium. The drawing for the bracket will be on Thursday 5/21. Those teams will be: Beechwood and Conner as 1 seeds Cov Cath and Ryle as 2 seeds On 5/20- Highlands plays NCC for their District title. Dixie plays St.Henry for their District title. The last time it wasn’t these 8 teams representing in the 9th Region Tournament was 2019 when Boone county went in instead of Conner. All of these teams are very familiar with each other and I anticipate the Memorial Day first round games to be great. I will update this thread as soon as the drawing has been completed and released on Thursday.

Final! Beechwood will get a 1 seed and CCH will be a 2 seed on the opposite side of the Regional bracket. Memorial Day is one of my favorite days of the year. All day baseball at Thomas More Stadium (formerly Florence Yalls Park).

I have him at 193-46 (80.7 Winning Percentage) from 2006-2022 with 5 Class 1A titles and 3 class 2A titles.

Should have lined up in wildcat and let Fryman try and run it in. Didn’t run that at all tonight.
