  1. Rumors they are going to hire assistant on staff.
  2. This job is going to be rough for whoever takes it.
  3. They hired Butler assistant and former AAU coach Coach Deshawn Pendleton.
  4. Heard he was eyeballing the Assumption job all year. Just rumors, just rumors.
  5. They may have eliminated his school based job or was going too. Also heard the parents were clowns.
  6. Anyone hearing of any coaching changes are openings for 2018-2019?
  7. Player A was 1st or 2nd leading scorer at a Private School last week, and has left and supposedly be Eligible for public school this week. Player C was leading scorer for Public School last year, was ineligible first 5 games this year and is now eligible at new Public School this year. The KHSAA has the least amount of restrictions on transfers in the whole entire USA. You can literally play at 2-3 different high schools per year if you really wanted. Just make a good claim, give a phony address of an aunt or uncle or friend of family, say you live there. #JOKE This is ruining the girls game.
  8. JCPS is a Public School System that skims off the top for the highest achieving students and the highest excelling students and corrals them into 4-6 High Schools and then the rest average about a 16 on their ACT. https://www.bizjournals.com/louisville/news/2017/10/13/what-jcps-school-has-the-highest-act-score.html#g/421825/11
  9. Its not Butlers fault, or Manuals or Males, or Easterns. Its JCPS allowing things to happen that always give those four schools an upperhand, but continually make those other schools in the distrcit play them. Those 4 schools against the rest of JCPS in the last Decade is like 200 wins and 7 Losses.
  10. Is this tournament a recruiting tool for the programs AAU teams? Will teams with poor records allowed to participate in this event in the future or is this for the elite teams only.
  11. As an onlooker, could someone please tell me why JCPS would allow 4 schools to beat the brakes off of every other school in the district on a yearly basis. These scores a flat out joke. 83-2 , 97-7, 73-5, etc. Butler, Eastern, Male, and Manual should be in their own league. There is no other schools in all of the other JCPS schools, that can even have a competitive game with them. Those four schools could beat NAIA schools and small D2 schools, while many of their competitors could not even beat elementary travel ball teams.
  12. Just an overtime question, in wake of the college and shoe company outing. Do you know of any players on your respective high school teams that get free trips to Events paid for by shoe companies, does anyone hear of teams with Star players getting their high schools hooked up? I have heard Nike and Adidas pump in Merch to High Schools that have Elite Level Talent. Just curious. I know all schools will purchase Nike or Adidas , but are there any that get it for FREE?
  13. Covington (Holy Cross) should be in there. Butlers JV players from last year are eligible for Varsity action after transferring in last year and sitting out a year. (JV players already with D1 scholarship offers......HMMM) Dupont Manual
  14. I have a comment and a couple of questions: I assume most KHSAA coaches conduct their own conditioning/open gym programs prior to the first official date of practice mid-October. I would assume most programs will train 2-5 days a week, during this time. So my questions are as follows: 1) What are most high school coaches responses to AAU programs that want to simultaneously conduct workouts, during this same time frame of conditioning with several of the same players you are wanting to prepare for in your upcoming season. 2) Does your school allow AAU programs to utilize your high school facilities for their workouts, during the same time you are conducting your conditioning/open gym program?
  15. Will that kid have to play Junior Varsity for transferring?
  16. Lately, I have been seeing some funny post throughout social media and messages boards from AAU coaches about high school boys and girls basketball programs and High School coaches about AAU coaches. Its quite comical to me and it seems there is some pure jelly and hatin going on. You are comparing apples to oranges and I called it passive aggressive hating on both sides. The usual AAU whining sessions are as follows: 1) I taught my AAU kid more than their high school coach did in a whole season, and in one or two practices. 2) My AAU kid came back out of shape when they are with their high school team. 3) High School Coaches dont have the best interest of the kid at heart. 4) College Coaches only see kids in AAU events and in Exposure Events 5) The AAU coach got them the offer not the High School Coach 6) The High school coach only wants plays, we want players 7) The High School Coach Sits in a Zone and We press and play man to man The Usual High School Coaches Whining Sessions are as follows: 1) AAU is nothing more than street ball 2) AAU coaches dont play defense 3) AAU coaches dont practice more than two days a week and act like they are really working a kid hard 4) AAU coaches handpick their players 5) AAU coaches are taking kids money to go on trips 6) AAU coaches make some kids pay and not others 7) AAU coaches dont play zone because they dont have to with a recruited team. I am putting my two cents into this and you can take it for what its worth or telling me to stick it where the sun dont shine, regardless I don't really care. I just want all people that have the "Kids Best Interest at Heart to think of the message that is being sent. You are not doing what is in the kids best interest when you talk bad one way or another. Im going to present FACTS and OPINIONS to each Statement Fact 1 Let me remind you AAU teams are "recruited" teams, once again AAU teams are "recruited" teams, once again AAU teams are "recruited" teams, and one last time AAU teams are "recruited" teams. Now I am not blinded to the fact that several high school teams recruit, but the majority dont. OPINION It would be nice if that same AAU coach that talks crap would like to take on depth chart players number 6-20 on any teams roster, however most are only looking for each teams "top dogs". If AAU programs want to take bench players from high school teams, and JV players and make some JV varsity AAU teams let me know and I will be happy to pass the word around. Just let me know I get the word throughout the whole commonwealth that your AAU program is going to work with the same personnel the high school teams has too. Since there are miracle workers out there I am sure their will be numerous takers. I'm being dead serious send me your info and I will send emails to every high school program in the state and tell them you have room for their role and JV players in your AAU program. FACT 2 High School Coaches may be around their players on the court over 400 days in a 4 year period and even more if they are teachers (700 plus). OPINION Nobody gives a crap who feels entitled that they helped a kid earn a scholarship, so why not try get both the AAU and High School coach together at their signing, if they are fortunate enough to get a scholarship (no matter what level). FACT AAU teams will have more college coaches and scouts watching than high school games. College Coaches want to see the best players play against the best players and usually that is what happens when a recruited AAU team forms. This also only makes sense , because the college teams and scouts have their season going on simultaneously during the high school season. Regardless, Sack up and quit acting like whiny kids !!!!! AAU and High School Coaches Need to Stop Hating on One Another

  19. Mercer County and Sacred Heart are the two best teams IMO at the Shootout. Bullitt East is still pretty good. They put a hurting on Nelson County today. One coach (Blue Team) was acting a complete Donkey. Would not want my daughter playing for him or if I was an athletic director or principal I would be calling him into office to talk. Male is scrappy, unsure why Champ wasnt coaching them. Calhoun from Christian Academy is pretty good. Elizabethtown is pretty decent Manual is pretty good. Covington to Holy Cross has some big inside players and solid guards.
  20. Here is link to Prichard Coach Prichard Honored as HBCA District Coach of the Year | Charlestown Pirate Pride
  21. It seems that Deshaun Pendelton (Butler Assistant and PRP graduate) will be looking to take over his alma mater. PRP fell off the map last year and Pendelton who has close ties to the community, middle school coaches, AAU players, and the PRP athletic director will indeed be named the head coach. The program will try to replace their top to leading scorers in Perri Mitchell and Amani Saunders.
