As you know I have been a big fan of the super-regional and have been trying out different regions to see how it all would play out. Here is the 9th Region version using the current BGP rankings. The first round is hosted by the higher seed, everything else will be at NKU. Please rememeber that this is just chalk and their hopefully will be some upsets

I think for this to work, you need to have it as standings and not rankings. Meaning that each 10th region team plays each other with tiebreakers agreed upon. One team is home one year and the next year they are away in the series.

The only reason NCAA started to come out with their top 16 teams is because it draws more interest in the sport!. It gives us BGPers something to talk about til the actual tournament.

Liking this concept more and more. Thinking to add real value to Districts have both Championship and 3rd place game. Champion gets a 1; Runner-up a 2; 3rd place a 3; and 4th place a 4. These numbers are added into the overall seeding as a 4th factor. Don't know if all 4 factors are equal weighted or some other matematical weighting is assigned

Here is your con, nearly half the region can't find a way to seed a district. Getting half of that region to agree to find a way to seed a tournament four times the size of a district... good luck!

You guys are funny. All this clamering that Districts should be seeded when your state tournament is a blind draw. lol.

Well said @8th Region Warrior like I said earlier in this thread they (KHSAA) control every aspect of football and teams may have to play 4 to 5 games of their football season on district games. I just don't understand why they are afraid to make the same requirements for basketball.

Beacause people are afraid it will eventually lead to classification, which the KHSAA is terrified of.
