Highlands playing CCH tonight? If so where at?

Another great game against these two teams. Down to the wire as usual. Wouldn't have it any other way. Camp Ernst had a great balanced attack and everyone contributed and really showed grit. Battling back from a late deficit. They have a good coach and are well disciplined and got solid contributions from the bench. Kevin Center's hit a big 3 to tie the game with only a few mins left and really swung the momentum. Issac Sulter is continuing to play better and better. Hopefully the hand continues to heal. He was more aggressive and hit some good shots when they needed them. He has the potential to really dominate a game if he wants to. He has the talent. Hunter Ahlfeld has continued to impress and seems to be making great strides this year. From the tip they tried to face guard him to take him out of the game but didn't have anyone that could guard him off the bounce. Seemed to have ton of steals as well. Still no Huddleston, hopefully back after the holidays? Finally get Jack Delagrange back next week I'm hearing.

Is South Laurel a pretty big school? What "A" are they considered? I don't ever remember playing them.

Yeah, they look like there going to be really strong for years to come. Some really nice kids on the way as well from what I'm hearing. A little hard to watch being a Bluebirds parent. HAHA I'm just hoping when my son's class(8th grade, and the 7 grade) gets to high school they can continue to help Highlands get back up on the map. Coach Listerman(Ex Cov-Cath'r) really seems to have the program going in the right direction.

I think SSSGodwin is correct. I believe his name is Gage Ashcraft. He's a great kid. Comes from a great family.

Who are the really good freshman team's this year? Any freshman standing outs thus far?

Huddleston and Jack D were out, Salter came back but was limited in offense as his hand was wrapped pretty good and Nate G was knocked out of the game(knee). Ahlfeld played well again tonight. They have CE and Summit View coming up and will probably get crushed in both games. HMS has to get healthy. They aren't going to beat any of these good teams right now. You can't play good teams without support. Birds will be fine for after X-mas and when the tourney starts.

I should've worded that last one differently. Sorry, I wasn't taking a shot at him or implying anything. He was held back and is currently supposed to be a freshman right now, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he's doing well at the JV level. Kudo's to him. Keep up the hard work Jared!

I know Jared's supposed to be a Freshman now anyways but its nice to see him do well on a bigger stage with the JV. Impressive for sure. Neil is a legit 8th grader though correct? If he keeps it up he's gonna be a special player as he continues to mature.

We played them last night he was not on that team. They are a much different team now. They have 2 taller guards playing now that seemed to help them. Still struggled pretty bad with the press but they are a improved team from previous seasons.

Yes, Camp Ernest always gives HMS a great game. This maybe Camp Ernest's year to finally get them. HMS will be without one of there big 3, Huddleston. That could be a tough task to pull out a win on the road without him.

I didn't catch the 6th grade game but both 7th and 8th won pretty easily. When Huddleston comes back, the 8th grade team will get scary real fast. Halfway through the 3rd qtr Ahlfeld had out scored the whole Grant Cty team for the game and Sulter was grabbing boards and blocking shots. Sulter is starting to get more aggressive underneath which is a big bonus. Also with the loss of Brycen they have a couple of post players getting more minutes and showing flashes. They should really be able to help down the stretch.

No doubt Highlands started slow but they really seem to be hitting full stride at the right time. I don't think the Birds will be favored in this game but you never know what can happen playing at HHS, it's a tough place to come in a get a win. Go Birds!
