  1. who would of thought MNH would go scoreless in 2 games at state! Scott County out in 2 as well. MC Cracken beat MNH 3 times this season.
  2. Because the girls are better than the coaching staff! I don't mean that to be a complete jerk, the girls are very good.
  3. I like a seeding system based on ranking and strength of schedule. It's not perfect, after all, there are always unhappy teams in the NCAA who didn't make it. But we are talking about 16 teams that make it to state and 3 or more days before the tournament is played. How difficult would it be to look at 16 teams rank and schedule? The coaches poll and/or True Rank could be considered by the KHSAA. If the current system is the most objective, it's certainly not fair to the stronger teams in the state the last couple of years, IMO.
  4. I agree wth the best playing the best. The best 2 teams should compete for the state title. That can't happen when they are eliminating one another early on.
  5. I agree about E Jessamine. I think it will come down to E Jessamine and Warren East in the bottom bracket. Ashland has very good pitcher but the only ranked team they beat was #25 Boyd County 3 times. So I'm suspicious of their offense against tougher teams.
  6. McCracken because of pitching but it wouldn't surprise me if they have to come out of the losers bracket to win it. That upper bracket is a bear!
  7. The highest ranked team in the lower bracket is E Jessamine at 17. Then I believe it's 19, 22, & 24. The upper bracket has #'s 1,2,3,4,5,10, & 12. If Daviess County wins the 3rd region, they are ranked 14. If Apollo wins they at least received 41 votes in the last poll but were unranked. I wish the best of luck to all teams, these young ladies play their hearts out and coaches coach their hearts out. My problem is with how the teams are paired by the KHSAA. This has been discussed in other threads, but jeez, this years pairing are worse than last years. Not sure it could be worse if they tried.
  8. I will apologize up front because I don't mean to offend anyone, but I doubt any team in the bottom bracket can beat any team in the upper bracket.
  9. The softball teams 3 starting pitchers will be seniors next year. I don't know what kind of pitching they have after that.
  10. McCracken County gets it done in the 1st region blanking Murray 6-0. Audrey Dodd gets the win giving up 2 hits and striking out 10. Jenny Chapman who pitched a perfect game against Carlisle County, Keely Barnes, and Tori Humphrey made all tourney team. Audrey Dodd takes the MVP award.
  11. McCracken County was too much for Carlisle County winning 12-0 in 5 innings. Jenny Chapman pitched a perfect game striking out 10 of the 15 batters she faced. Kali Harris and Kelsey Henson with home runs.
  12. From what I hear the only thing the Mustangs need to change is their 3rd base coach.
  13. According to McCracken's schedule, that game is tomorrow night at 7:45 p.m. Still not the 9th region though.
  14. I believe they beat McCracken 2-0 last year, but will be a tall order this year.
  15. Marshall County is ranked 24th in this weeks poll so add another ranked team they play. Although not in the 1st region, they will pay #6 , #2 or 4, #19 , & #10 before the end of the regular season. There maybe another ranked team they play in Bowling Green this weekend, so they are not shying away from competition.
  16. McCracken County continues to dominate in the 1st region beating Tilghman 15-0 tonight. Hannah Ridolfi takes the win giving up 2 hits in 2 innings and 1 strike out. Chapman pitched the 3rd and Dodd the 4th. The girls are ready for the Best of the West in Bowling Green this weekend. First game is Anderson County Friday night.
  17. Mustangs prove to be way more than St Mary could handle tonight. With Chapman pitching, St Mary's lead off hitter pops up to the catcher and the next eight batters strike out. McCracken scores 3 in the 1st off an inside the park HR by Henson. They score 15 in the 2nd with Hannah Ridolfi hitting a 2 run homer and Hannah Jones with a 3 run dinger.
  18. Well, they did beat Butler 10-0 earlier in the year. Don't know if they overlooked them or not, good teams shouldn't do that. Butler also beat Madisonville North Hopkins. I think a coaching move cost McCracken the title last year. Of course hind sight is 20/20 but I thought Chapman should have been given another couple of batters to show she still had it before being yanked. McCracken is my pick to win it but they can certainly be beat. The next 6 or 8 is a toss up to me but are contenders.
  19. Thanks P2, I thought maybe I was going crazy in addition to bad eye sight. Glad to know my eyes are no worse but the crazy thing maybe a work in progress. I was surprised about Butler over Scott County. I knew Butler was pretty good, but Scott Co is really tough. Hats off to Butler for a big win.
  20. Well, today on the scoreboard it shows Male beat Allen County Scottsville 9-3. I know my eyes aren't that bad. Sorry Male folks.
  21. Good point PH2 so here's that info: #1 McCracken County, #4 Madisonville North Hopkins, and #5 Woodford County have not lost to an unranked team. #2 Scott County lost today to unranked Warren East 5-1 but beat #9 Mercy 3-2 today. #3 Male lost to Allen County Scottsville last night 3-0 and lost to #1 2 Owensboro Catholic 3-0 today. #6 Anderson County lost 2-1 to Collins, 2-1 to Oldham County, and 7-2 to Madison Central. I had not figured todays games in my previous stats. Thanks for pointing this out. I'm new at this so hopefully I'll get better with my posts.
  22. Congrats to MS Cansler. Chapman doesn't give up many HR's let alone multiple hits to the same hitter. I believe Chapman has committed to Louisiana Tech. But she will be back pitching for McCracken next year, along with Dodd and Ridolfi.
  23. My apology, messed up my own notes. Thanks for pointing it out for me.
  24. In reference to another thread on Stats, I compared the top 6 teams in the state (based on last weeks poll) to see how they did against other teams in the top 25. Individual stats are great, but teams win and lose games, so here goes: 1. McCracken County - In 11 games are 10 & 1 against the top 25, losing to #1 3 Daviess County. They have scored 84 runs and given up 26. Against top 6 teams they are 5 & 0 out scoring them 42 to 15. They play #6 Anderson County Friday in Bowling Green and then will play either Male or Madisonville North Hopkins and possibly another ranked team in the Best of the West. They also have games against #1 0 Union and #2 0 Christian County before the end of the season. 2. Scott County - In 11 games are 7 & 4 against the top 25, losing to #1 0 Union County, #5 Woodford County, #1 McCracken County, and #6 Anderson County. They have scored 60 runs and given up 44. Against top 6 teams they are 1 & 3 scoring 18 and giving up 23. They play #9 Mercy twice, #7 Ballard, #8 Meade County, and #1 5 Ashland Blazer before seasons end. 3. Male - In 10 games are 7 & 3 against the top 25, losing to #8 Meade County, #2 Scott County, and # 1 McCracken County. They have scored 40 runs and given up 25. They are 0 & 2 against the top 6 being out scored 8 to 4. They play Madisonville North Hopkins at the Best of the West and either Anderson or McCracken County and possibly another ranked team while there. They will also play O'boro Catholic before seasons end. 4. Madisonville North Hopkins - In 11 games are 7 & 4 against the top 25, losing to McCracken County twice, Butler, and Anderson County. They have scored 61 runs and given up 33. They are 0 & 3 against the top 6 being out scored 14 to 4. They play Male at the Best of the West and then either McCracken or Anderson County and possibly another ranked team. The also play @ 24 University Heights before the end of the season. 5. Woodford County -In 10 games are 6-3-1 against the top 25, losing to #1 McCracken County, #7 Ballard, and #2 0 Christian County. They show a 0-0 tie against Christian County at the Big M in Etown. They have scored 45 runs and given up 37 in those games. They are 1 & 1 against the top 6 and were out scored 24 to 15. They play #6 Anderson County before the end of the season. 6. Anderson County - In 5 games are 3 & 2 against the to 25, losing to #9 Mercy and #4 Madisonville North Hopkins. They have scored 13 runs and given up 10 in those games. They are 0 & 1 against the top 6 losing 2-0. They play #1 McCracken County in the Best of the West and either Male or Madisonville North Hopkins, and possibly another ranked team. They also play #1 9 Butler and #5 Woodford County before seasons end. Info gathered for the KHSAA (Riherds) Scoreboard. Info is not meant to be a prediction for anything, just that good teams need to play good teams to compete and learn from their losses.
