  1. Coach Rankin told me he is playing freshman and seeing jv time. To bad grey ran him off if he turns into half the player his father was you have a great player
  2. I wasn't there. I coach a lot of the Summit kids and was just getting updates.
  3. Coach Rankin does that to try and develop the kids not required.
  4. Conner won 12? 8th grade 6th lost big, 20+ 7th won by 10, starters played about 1/2 the game 8th...not sure, left at the start of the game but looked like it was going to be a good one.
  5. He is throwing the ball well. Seems to me his receivers don't go get the ball
  6. Dayton usually has a xmas tourney
  7. Leon maybe out for another 2weeks at the least.
  8. Invite the younger kids to a varsity practice or a game. Assign a varsity player to come to the younger kids practice. Have the middle school coaches teach the same plays and talk the same lingo, then when the younger kid comes to games he is hearing the same stuff being coached. Have the younger kid sit behind the bench at a basketball game. Bring the younger team into their locker room after games. Let the younger kid into the game free if they have their school uniform on. The varsity coach should come to the 6th grade games and practices, and talk to the younger kids. Bring some t shirts and give them to the younger group. The varsity program should know all the younger kids in their program. Some coaches are not their for the love of teaching the game they are just going thru the motions.
  9. The problem is the Dixie coaches are not involved with the middle school. Make the kids feel part of the program. Cov cath, Highlands, Campbell co and Scott all do it. I'll bet that the varsity football and basketball coaches at Dixie don't know the 6th grade coaches. I bet they don't know the kids. That's the difference.
  10. Murray the head coach is a super caring coach and a great leader. I have seen that personally and I like the guy. He would fight for his kids and lead them in the correct directions in life. I don't no if he is a great coach or not. Even if he was the best coach in the world that doesn't always make you the rite (right) coach for a certain individual. What the statement is trying to say Leon has a ton of raw talent and skills. It wasn't in no way talking about his coaches. The statement meant if the correct person gets Leon he will be a terrific player in the future. I know Leon better than most. Leon needs a coach who makes him believe in himself then Leon will excel.
  11. . I'm close with a lot of the Turkeyfoot kids and believe friendship is why they went to TUrkeyfoot together. By the talk of the parents they are staying together and attending Scott together. Only time will tell.
  12. No one knocked his coaches. It was said with the Rite coaching.
  13. #22 Turkeyfoot. Leon Marshall. With the rite coaching could be a terrific player.
  14. The fouls was like 26-6 with 2 min left. The worse thing I haver seen. The top 3 players were in foul trouble in the first period
  15. Because bradd Carr is the BEST coach in the state. He's not into the business of just winning. He is a true mentor and is about teaching life lessons. He will sacrifice wins for discipline, he holds kids accountable. If he had the DEPTH of talent he would win state championships on a regular basis. He makes all of his kids winners he keeps kids in his program at times because the kids need him not that he needs the kid. Bradd Carr makes everyone around him better and holds all of us accountable. He's a true winner on and off the court.
  16. If anybody thinks the basketball in nky is good they have never seen basketball. You make a great point majority of the kids that are good now won't be good in 2 years. The best players don't play school all or aau. Go watch eybl. The Conner team is good because they play as a group year round. Some of the better players in this area play way different out in aau. A bad coach can put their kids in a system to fail a good coach can take mediocre players and look good with the correct system. Any middle school team playing any type of zone is setting their kids up for failure to win games today.
  17. Kenton co will never be as successful as they could be in sports because of their school board. They for the most part only hire teachers as coaches and don't allow any competitive sports until middle school. Plus they lock their gyms down unless their is a paying customer. They need Tim Hanner back he was out for the good of kids.
  18. The most impressive thing about the vile team is they all go to the same school. That's their school all team I heard
