  1. I'd be surprised by a 4 goal win, not saying it can't happen with cob caths talent, it just would surprise me. Coach Sutherland is a very good coach and will have his team playing well.
  2. Going to have to agree with groinpull here. JMO
  3. Tates creek will be hard to handle, they two players mentioned above are both very high quality players. If you can contain them and hit them with a quick counter attack you may be able to squeek one out. As for Henry clay, they may have the best defense in the state. Good luck getting through
  4. It's way to early for anyone to know how good anyone will be. This might as well say #1 Cov Cath then pretty much a blind draw. Imo there are a bunch of teams in a cluster that will battle for second all year. I think the next 6 teams could all compete for the title come the end of the year. Give it a few weeks and teams will have found out who they are and where they stand....
  5. Well put yellowcard He can be a real asset to the team this year, just needs to sharpen his decision making and he will turn out just fine. For never playing goalie he is a natural. He plays behind a solid back line and communicates very well with them. I have seen keepers play their entire lives and not communicate the way he does. That was a good first game on a scale from 1-10 I'd give him a 6.5. He was out of position on every long throw in the first half, stepped out of the 18 to pick up a ball (lines were hard to see) his form was just above awful. The positives were that he is very athletic, he communicates to his team, he has a decent punt. This kid will do fine Btw this is just an opinion of an old washed up guy who knows very little about today's game.
  6. It looked like Cooper didn't know how to keep their foot on the pedal. Once they went ahead it seemed they lost interest in the game, guys arguing with one another, no one winning balls. That's when sk turned it on, sk was one or two miss traps or bad passes away from coming back. Cooper looked pretty good early, they have what I think to be the best forward in nky and a kid in the center who can distribute the balls very well. Can't wait to see how these two teams progress throughout the year.
  7. They disigned this area horribly, to make this field any wider you would have to rip out the track. Maybe starting over would be a good idea. I believe the girls played at home last night and the boys do the same tonight. Then I would imagine the field goes down hill from there.
  8. You should keep those goats around, they did a neck of a job.
  9. Yea I thought that was you cleaning the porto potty. You did a wonderful job.....
  10. I see you guys have taken a liken to me andmy posts. Maybe it should read Newport Central Catholic6 Cooper0 Oh wait a minute that was last year..... Good try guys, I'm going to bed, long night at JCole
  11. Cooper lost to a down highlands team, good thing they have that new assistant over there....... Lol Highlands 2-1 I heard Cooper goalie situation is comical
  12. I didn't see Scott play but was told by my inside source that they have no real possession nor any plan to play soccer. Everything was more or less a kick ball game. The keeper was decent but the back four were lost and they were easy to defend.
  13. Hotspur what do you know about soccer? You Tottenham fan
  14. Borny was a good technical coach Never offside, thanks for my very first trophy. I will except it with honor, maybe one day pass it along to my kids.
  15. Hey step over, calm down..... I think you got out possessed 80-20, Ncc was the better team. We need to finish better, we will work on that this week I'm sure.
  16. Yellow Card, thanks for the vote Come on out tonight, you might see good soccer
  17. Cooper and ncc are tied????? For fifth????? They lost about the same on the field but ncc picked up a new (better) coaching staff. If you think Cooper was good last year, look at what ncc did to them in regionals.
  18. From what I hear, they couldn't find a date. I hear they tried
  19. We will score plenty of goals Our scoring won't come from just one person this year. It will be a team effort, same as last year.
  20. Ncc looked very good and very in shape at bg games. That's what they've been working on in the off season, so they did what was asked of them . Oregano thanks and maybe we can rest after soccerama. I doubt that will happen, no rest for the best
  21. Now that dblyellow has gone into hiding I feel safe posting again. I was fortunate to be at bluegrass and catch as many nky teams as possible. My rankings would go like this. Covington Catholic, the mix of returning starters and the talent of the up and comers is down right scary. This team could be the first nky to bring home that illusive trophy. Bishop Brossart, I saw this team at bluegrass. Not super technical but very big and physical, with the new coaching staff I think they will become more technically sound and if they put all that size and skill together they could be dangerous St. Henry They were just the opposite of bb, Steve Hahn has these guys moving off the ball and finding slotted balls through opponents back line already. If they can solidify their back line they will be a tough team to beat. Cooper, IF (big if) Cooper can find a way to stay organized they will be ok. I know they lost a few key players last year but they could be dangerous again. While watching them at BG they seemed a bit of a kick ball team at times, when they started to pass the ball and stay composed they looked totally different. Seems like a lack of leadership on the field, young program like this will struggle unless a true leader steps up. Ncc Being a former ncc guy I know this team very well. They too lost a few key players... I think the younger talent they have and some of the returning starters should make for a good squad. They may not be clicking just yet but I'm sure that they will find away to do so come tournament time. The one thing they lack is a true goal scorer. If you were to compare this team to any from the past 4 I'd say they will be like the 2012 team that had lumps through out the year (5-9-5) then found themselves in the regional finals Scott, song know much about these guys except they return a few really good players. Look for them to re-identify themselves without Treadway. Highlands Should be an above average team that can find the back of the net offensively but struggle a little in the back. Look for the to make the regional again.. Ryle, ryle should be the opposite of highlands. They return a couple of defensive studs. They looked to play a kick ball style as well. I'm not sure they will get a ton of possession in the middle of the pitch like they have in the past.
  22. Dblyellow I have the utmost respect for the Ncc program and would love them to continue their winning ways. When they were doing so under the old coach their wasn't that much chatter. He liked flying under the radar, refer to Texas tea and take his offer of humble pie.
  23. My goal is not to tarnish Ncc or the former coach, my opinions have been supported by facts. Weather I am a former player, parent or on the staff isn't the issue. That's why we can hide behind fake names Flops & Hacks where you at to back me up
