  1. Holy cross's coaching staff has got the guys playing good soccer. Year in and out everyone dismisses them and forgets that they have had some very good teams in the past (glory days). The staff that Dave has now is probably the right fit for the kids they have, some times coaching just isn't teaching the game. Some times it about having a connection with those players and getting them to believe in your system and getting them to play for one another. I believe this is what's going onat HC this year and kudos to them for figuring it out.
  2. I believe it said wwdys What would double yellow say
  3. You poked the bear..... I told you that McDonald teams don't focus enough on conditioning. Ncc is the most in shape team in nky and it will wear you down. Last night was a good example of that, by the 20th minute of the second half Cooper kids were gasping for air and couldn't keep up that high work rate ncc was bringing at them. Justin Randee shut snow down all night long, he had one chance and couldn't convert. Look for him as your defensive player of the year. Cameron Hoover is a beast anddominated the center of the field by winning 50/50 balls. This game proves that McDonald is washed up, he still can't get his team to win big games. Signed: still young and much better than you
  4. I will say this, and you know how much I defend the refs in the area. Keith Hill ran/walked the center last night along with a crew that had no business doing a varsity match. The game got chippy and both teams should have been awarded a few cards. That was the worse display of officiating I have ever seen. 1 if you can't keep up with the play, time to hang up the whistle 2 if you can't see what iis going on in a play it's time to hang up the whistle 3 if you don't know the rules it's time to hang up the whistle 4 if you are doing it for extra money and not the love of the game it's time to hang up the whistle OK about the game, Ncc haha hard working team that never once gave up. They fought until the very end of the game. Cooper had some really good chances early that they did not convert on, I thought that Cooper was the better team last night but as we all know the best team doesn't always win. Hey dblyellow you guys are in better shape than Cooper, I'll give you that.
  5. Highlands is a middle of the road team IMO. I would say thatthat right now they are a tough game for Cooper. Is it really about the competition or the team you play on V/S the team you play against? Here's how I see things, if I played for Holy Cross and played teams at the same level as us and had 25 goals and never did we blow anyone away does that mean I'm not good because we are not in the same matches as let's say a cov cath? I personally think you have to work harder to get those goals because you have no supporting cast to get you the ball at the right times. If the same team played the same matches as cov cath and I only score 7 goals no one give me credit because I haven't scored enough. It's a double edged sword. Again this is just my opinion I definitely see how competition comes into play and playing better teams makes you a better player, my question is what if you put that kid from Franklin on cov cath or St. Henry how many goals does he have with a better supporting cast? This isjust another one of my opinions but what do I know....
  6. A few things I would like to weigh in on HC has a great coaching staff The team is obviously playing pretty good this year, 2-1 loss against St Henry is a good result. Hc hasn't won the all A regional in 25 years because it wasn't around for them to win in the 90's. Good luck to HC the rest of the season
  7. Every Tim I post something you guys have to come on hear and give me a hard time. I was just stating that when the almighty school from fort Wright takes it on the chin they never give credit to the opponent. As for McDonald winning with cov Cath that's hilarious...... He doesn't belong in the same paragraph as Jeremy, that's why he is an assistant and not a head coach now. Not to mention at a school that lost to Dixie and has never won anything. Good luck next week when we meet on the field
  8. I don't think that is very true, or fair to say. Although I'd like to think it would be correct I highly doubt it. Jeremy is a fantastic coach and fits in perfect to the style of the players at Covington Catholic. How about we delete this thread? It's kinda silly
  9. I believe that there are some parents that do know more than them. I just don't think those are the parents that are screaming obnoxiously from the stands.
  10. I was not at this game last night nor do I have any insight on it. However in reading the last few posts I would like to ask why AGAIN we let referees dominate our threads? You know as well as I do that they make mistakes, so do the players and so do the coaches. Let's agree to not yell or badger these men and women during games. There are very few left and if want to play games we need them. Good or bad we need them to be there, let's just hope they are consistent.
  11. I had the pleasure to be part of that program for many years. I would have to say that DBLYellow is not a good example of the ncc family.
  12. Snow won't score 15 goals or have more than 5 assists. He is lazy and selfish..... I watched them play highlands, he scored ona few free kicks and stood in H for the rest of the game. Imo the rest of the team watches him the entire game because they know he's not going to pass the ball. Deadly free kick though
  13. I believe that you are missing a few ncc players on here Justin Randle Cam Hoover Chad Brewer Kyle Blesser
  14. Ok 600 boys and can't field a regional championship soccer team in 5 or so years? So the question of why would you choose Cov Cath over Ncc for soccer is valid. I believe the assistant coaches boy was a St. Joe kid, ask them.
  15. With an excuse that will never die!!!! Why is that every time they lose a game they have excuses? Has it always been like this or is this new? They have the top talent every year and continue to fail, and when that happens it's everyone else's fault. They have roughly 800 boys in the school and haven't won a regional soccer title since 2009 or 10. What are the reasons for this? Can anyone she'd some light
  16. I will give her your regards I never said that her yelling at a coach was acceptable, I was just wondering why fans are permitted on that side of the field.
  17. A few questions Groinpull why is it that you keep coming up with excuses to why your team didn't win? Can't you ever just admit that another team played better than yours on that day? Why are fans permitted to sit behind the coaches? That's Bush league!!!!!!
  18. Ncc freshman team has a very solid group that works very hard to win.
  19. There's also the issue of Cooper just starting to compete with better teams. Since this is the case it's a little harder to get the Dunbar, Henry clay, trinity's to schedule a game. There for you try to get your foot in the door playing other not so top notch teams then fill in games with other schools such as Calvary, ncc and st. Henry. It took me 2 years of regional final appearances to even get the big teams to return an email, so you play who you can and make the most out of it. A game like Cooper/ Calvary takes the place of a training session, instead of competing against the same guys you've been with since mid July you get to see something different. In my opinion (I don't know much) it's not a bad thing to have a game or two like this. Gets kids in that don't normally play and gives others a rest and a chance to cheer for their teammates.
  20. As for the goal Cooper scored on Highlands, it looks to me that the defender redirected the ball not the GK As for the man marking talk, about 5 years ago a kid named Austin Juniet played for Ncc. He was man marked at the beginning of most matches, his coach adjusted to this by making him check to balls to drag defenders forward and open lanes for threw balls. Once the opposition would figure this out he would then become a goal scorer, I believe he finished his senior year with 29 goals and 20 assits. If kids are coachable and have that much drive and talent you really can't stop them from becoming a factor in the game. That's just the opinion of a coach that doesn't understand the game....
