Hart County receives and starts at their own 19.

First time I’ve seen this at a high school game. I love it.

This is my first trip to Hart County High School. Very nice facility here.

I think FS will need to win the turnover battle to win this one. They did that against Glasgow and won by 2 scores. They did not do that against Adair County and suffered a running clock before halftime. FS is very young this year and they don’t have much size in the line. The second half against Greenwood last week was the best FS has played all year. Maybe they are coming together at the right time. If Hart County doesn’t make many mistakes, they will probably win behind their superior size and experience. FS may have to dig into their bag of tricks to gain an edge. The bad thing for FS is, that even if they were to win the game and force a three-way tie for the district lead, FS will still probably be seeded third because of the RPI.

According to the KHSAA record book page the rushing TD record was 9. Don Gullet still has the overall TD record at 11. I assume maybe he caught or returned a few of those TDs.

Apparently this one was tied late until the Raiders got the go ahead score in the fourth quarter.

According to WBKO, Byron Kirkland-Lundy of Metcalfe County broke the state single-game rushing TD record with 10 rushing touchdowns in this game.

Final score Greenwood wins 31-30. Valiant effort by FS to come back from the 21 point deficit. If FS will play the rest of the year like they did in the second half, they could still surprise some people.

FS made a great comeback but the dropped pass on the conversion and the offside penalty doomed them. They should have taken their timeout before the conversion instead of rushing through it as they did. The one timeout was not going to do them any good on defense.

And an offside penalty seals the deal.

Greenwood recovers the squib kick and has it at their own 39. Will be hard for FS to win now.

Delk with a 50 yard run sets up the next play a 25 yard TD pass to Cason Groves. But FS went for 2 and the pass fell incomplete. Greenwood leads 31-30 with 2:09 to go. Only one timeout for FS.

Gators back on top after a 4 yard run by Freeland. Greenwood 31-24 with 2:53 to go.

Anderson around the right end for the conversion. FS has come back from 21 down to tie it up at 24-24 with 6:32 to play.

FS forces the Gator fumble and takes over at their own 39. Greenwood 24-16 with 8:24 to go.

FS punts to the Gators 35.

Delk intercepts the Greenwood pass and FS will take over at its own 21.

Colin Anderson 28 yard TD run for FS. Extra point blocked. Greenwood leads 24-16 at 4:13 in the third. FS showing some life after the half. It helps to not fumble the ball.

Greenwood stalls out after a holding penalty and punts to the FS 16.

37 yard field goal for Greenwood as the first half expires. Halftime Greenwood leads 24-3.

FS drives from their own 2 and eventually gets 1st and goal at the Greenwood 2. 3 plays and minus 2 yards later FS settles for a field goal. Greenwood 21-3. 1:30 before the half.

Jackson Freeland 43 yard TD run. Greenwood 21-0 at 10:28 in the second. The young and tiny Wildcats are outmatched.
