  1. I don't remember the last time we ran the shotgun???
  2. That is pretty impressive. That's Austin Dotson. He is 6'5, maybe 6'6, and considers himself a baseball player. But he plays a pretty mean tackle for a junior.
  3. Stud, hard worker, great football player and great kid.
  4. By the way, that's a great article Watusi....thanks for sharing. PCN knows how special this group of hogs are and we've been bragging on them all season long.
  5. Shout to Belfry Middle o-line coach Herbie Dotson, too. Coach Dotson groomed these young men thru middle school and even as 8th graders their technique was a sight to see. Herbie Dotson truly is an unsung hero with regard to getting these guys ready for high school football, and he's an even better person.
  6. 1A - Beechwood 2A - Mayfield 3A - Belfry 4A - Johnson Central 5A - Bowling Green 6A - Male I'm pulling for Pikeville, NCC, and Pulaski Co. to pull their games out, but my head tells me to go with the 6 above.
  7. He is...it's sarcasm. He's a LexCath fan thru and thru. I think he loves the bulletin board material that a few posters are giving the Knights. This Pirate fan expects a heckuva game.
  8. Has the schedule been finalized yet? I can't find it anywhere.
  9. I'd definitely agree on the comparison to Ironton. The best teams I remember seeing us play up until now we're Danville '93, Ironton '93-95', and Ashland with Juan Thomas (can't remember the year). This CM team is as good or better than all of those teams. In fact, although I know I'll catch flack over this on this particular website I'm going to make this statement because I believe it to be true. I watched every KY state title game last year and I didn't see one team that this CM team isn't capable of beating. I'm not saying they'd win but they are on par with that level of play. In fact, they'd have beaten every 1A-5A champ imo.
  10. That's as impressive a team as I've seen us play in 20-25 years. I really didn't expect them to be that good. This year in KY I'd only guarantee one team beating them, Male.
  11. What if you're name wasn't The Guru and you started this thread? You'd be laughed at and berated slightly before your banishment. Smh Chuck couldn't make it at UK and probably wouldn't have been there if not for one or two special players at Boyle, along with Joker's jokeresque decision making.
  12. All of the kids you mentioned came up with big plays on special teams. I can't stress how happy that makes me because our special teams play had been consistently abysmal up until a couple years ago. The improvement in that facet of the game has paid its biggest dividends in our biggest games of late.
  13. Tusi, as indecisive as we are (I'm assuming we both could see it go either way and we've watched a video), imagine if you're a ref and have to make that call quickly in a highly contested game lol. I don't envy them at all on that particular judgment call. If I'm a ref I'm warning Bentley about excessive blocking and if he does it again I'm throwing the flag, but again, I don't know how the rule specifically states handling the call. If I'm the BHS tight end coach I'm handing out a helmet sticker on Monday for finishing the play.
  14. It goes into slow motion on the video as soon as they get near the BHS players...in real time that sequence happens a lot faster than it looks on here. Should it have drawn a flag? I don't know if the rule states a warning shall be issued first or not on excessive blocking so I'm still 50/50 on that. Should the BHS sideline have gotten flagged? I'm gonna say absolutely on that one.
  15. A couple of times early in the first half but it was limited for the most part.
  16. I don't know if I agree with you guys on that one or not. I highly doubt Bentley was looking down at the sidelines during any point of that exchange. But I see a BIG problem with the kid in street clothes approaching the NCC player as he was returning to the field. I'd like to see more of that video and I'd say if Coach Haywood does the kid might not be off the bench next week either.
  17. Oh yes, yes it is true and I'm not the only person who witnessed it. And I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it. Their emotions were high, they'd just controlled the first half of the game against the defending 3A state champs and they went into the locker room pumped up. By the way, I don't need your consent or approval to clarify what was said. Get over yourself mam.
  18. i was standing in between the NCC locker room and the gate they entered the field from (50 ft max) and heard none of the garbage this Peyton is talking about. NCC came into the locker room mouthing about how Belfry was out of shape, that the 2nd half was theirs, that EKY football was weak, and they proceeded to get took to school the entire second half. NCC was ready to play, they controlled the first half imo, but the game is 4 quarters and they never had an inkling of momentum in the 2nd half. The frustration was apparent. They're a well coached team, with some outstanding athletes, but for the better part of the game Belfry won the battle up front and that's where it matters most. The refs did let it get out of hand by not whistling plays dead in a timely manner. There were a couple bad calls against both sides from where I was standing, but the bigger concern to me was the lack of professionalism by the officiating crew in seeing that their passiveness was creating unnecessary tension among two teams who came to leave it on the field tonight. It's a shame, but it happens often.
  19. I'm not nitpicking and it may have been inferred by most, but clarity is a pretty big deal in this instance. Read literally that first post could create confusion when none is needed. The only thing that's really changed is that there is a specific date in which a kid can't be a certain age before each grade or they'd be ineligible and that a student has to sit out during a year they're held back. It still all boils down to not being 19 be four Aug. 1 of your senior year, which has been the rule since the Bronze Age.
  20. In your original post it didn't say "prior to Aug. 1" when referring to the 14 year old 7th grader or the 13 year old 6th grader. By not stating that information it implies that a child couldn't participate with other 7th graders if they turned 14 after Aug. 1 or participate with other 6th graders if the turned 13 after Aug. 1. Think about it a second.
