  1. Air Raid? So they threw for 471 on Male because they couldn't run on them (-28). I agree that's outstanding on the #1 team in the state but other than that they had one game over 200 yards against PRP. Most the other games were in the 85-120 range. Manual per game averages (rush 149 pass 157) looks like a balanced offense to me. I don't think 157 ypg would be in the top 5. I'm more impressed statistically by their yards allowed. Very impressed.
  2. Add D2#3 Greenwood at D1#2 Hopkinsville which would only be an upset by seeding. Looks to be one of the best matchups in the first round due to their close rankings and differing style of play.
  3. Yeah Ram, it's hard to compare b/c it looks like they play a totally different style. But Manual in no way will have more speed, size I'll buy. Also for Southaven, that would be #7 in the state of MS with two of the teams above them being (Starkville #6 nationally) and (South Panola #16 nationally) who won at home against Southaven 38-27. McCracken would probably lose 7 out of 10 against Southaven. I'm in now way arguing that Manual is even an underdog in this game, but more on the lines that McCracken has played talent on their level.
  4. You also gotta try to understand this team a little bit. Trust me they are hard to figure out. They seem to play to the level of their competition. They are not an emotional bunch. I think the growth has been limited by the offensive play calling. The fans are tired of it and I hear the players are tired of it. The OC is scared to run slants or throw over the middle!!!! Z. Hughes running curl routes??? Are you kidding me!! Run him on slants and let someone try to keep up with him. Screens all game not gonna cut it against this defense. Central Hardin beat us last year b/c the DC outcoached our OC. Way too much other stuff to get into without becoming too negative. Anyway, we know the potential is there. IMO, the OC called the best game of his career against Southaven and it showed. Keys to the game for McCracken: Pass protection Turnovers need to be even or -1 Distribute the ball (target at least 6 different recievers/backs) Limit the penalties (too many holds, and especially the stupid personal fouls) Minimize the damage in special teams (Kickoffs for us, looks like they have a great punt unit) Try to show a little life in the run game (use Moore, R. Jones, Hughes, and Q. Jones - fresh legs)
  5. Thanks for the support!! Speaking for most fans here, you know we will be pulling for the Cards. It would be nice to get at least one win and see the Mustangs play St. Xavier. It would work out perfectly b/c then we could start following the Cards against Russellville. Not gonna be too much to see until then:)
  6. To make things interesting I'll go with D1#3 Fort Campbell (3-7) over D2#2 Adair County (8-2). First, Fort Campbell played a much tougher schedule. They have some playmakers but obviously not as many as those great FC teams of a few years back. They played Russellville tight losing by 2. Although they got blown, out they managed to put up some points on Pad Tilghman and McCracken. Looks like they are playing a little better towards the end of the season. Beat 5A Barren Co, a team comparible to them, last week 31-7 I admit I don't know much about Adair County, so no disrespect. The schedule was full of terrible teams except South Warren. Casey County not too bad, but then they lost to them 7-25 in the last game. Wonder if they played full strength? If so, how is the confidence? Or, did they lose a key player? Anyway, I saw how a weak schedule didn't help Caldwell against Mayfield last week.
  7. You need to get some game film of Southaven, MS!!!!!!
  8. Which Henderson shows up determines the score. The one that lost to Mad-NH 0-49 or the one who beat Owensboro 44-18. I saw them play McCracken and didn't think they were as good as last year. Honestly feel McCracken would beat them 8 out of 10. Yes, they moved the ball and killed themselves with turnovers. But, the Mustangs were without R. Jones, Z. Hughes, and T. Daniel and I call that a push for the turnovers (which McCracken had 3 as well). Score was 42-19 with a garbage time TD with 4 seconds.
  9. Yep, 3A was watered down. I remember watching that game and it was an awful first half. Something like 8 turnovers between the two teams. IMO, PT and Somerset were the bottom 2 teams in BG that year. Mayfield beat PT 21-9 and LexChristian (one of if not the best 1A passing QB's i'd ever watched) pasted the Cards. Ft. Campbell beat PT 53-7.
  10. I wish the young man a great recovery process, and just wish he was healthy to play. I've heard he is a great RB and would have loved to watch him perform. Plus, if the Mustangs can get the win I prefer watching teams at full strength. Also, hoping for Morgan Alexander to be back on the field for the Mustangs.
  11. I don't know much about the situation, but I'd place a large wager he will not play. From the looks of it, he was injured in the second game of the season. If it's true that surgery was involved, sure would be incredibly quick to be back. Professionals athletes have all the world best doctors, facilities, and therapy and still don't make that kind of progression.
  12. Pass complete to the 2yd line. Arnett to Kennimore. Hernandez runs in the TD. 40-12 Mayfield
  13. Clean game, few penalties and one turnover by CC. 5:40 remaining
  14. Mayfield keeping it on the ground moving chains across midfield
  15. Sindelar pressured and hit, tried to make a lateral and picked up by Mayfield and returned to the 24
  16. Mayfield keeps it on the ground 3 times to eat clock. Punts to CC 41
  17. 3 and out. Punt to Mayfield 26, returned to 35. Card penalty pushes it back to 25.
  18. 1st down Mayfield on CC 26. Bright with another TD run!! 33-12. 11:36 4qtr
  19. Long free kick picked up by Bright at the 15 and returned to Caldwell 37
  20. Sindelar sacked for s safety. 26-12 MHS. 1:36 3qtr
  21. Caldwell starts at 27. Incomplete on 1st followed by a holding penalty. 2nd and long pass dropped by Pepper. 3rd and 27
