Defense was horrible tonight... let's hope it was just young guys making mental miscues... and fix it asap O-line was mostly horrible too, but we expect that unfortunately

I know exactly who I'm taking to... I'm not referring only to complaints on little things... I'm talking about truly believing McCarron should start over Dalton... McCarron started a playoff game... how'd that go? Did we win? Point is... it wasn't just on McCarron that they lost... and it's not just on Dalton... Fantasy Football has destroyed a fan's ability to be realistic about the game... Fact is, the trenches have always decided football games. Period. You need good coaching and execution... u need good skill players, etc... But if you're getting pushed around, you lose... Go back and watch every playoff game... we lost on both lines... couldn't run consistently, couldn't stop the run... Even when we had a win against Pittsburgh, they found a way to lose... btw, Dalton didn't play... I actually do think that loss is on Dalton, because if he was healthy, they would've won.

Green has been hurt quite a bit... I remember early on second or third season, Green hurt his knee at Pittsburgh, missed a few games, Bengals still made playoffs .. And I'll add, personally I think Green has performed worse than Dalton in the playoffs... Dalton missed a throw to Green in Houston ... but Green dropped a TD down the sidelines against San Diego, not to mention Gio's game changing fumble near the goal line against San Diego... Point is, the team is to blame... all of them

And the defense was terrible in most of those playoff games too... to go along with poor offense... 2011 he's a rookie with a first year offensive coordinator... 2012 they're still young and learning to play at that level... Obviously as he got more experience he Had more to do with their success

I said "that's why he's the back up" as an over reaction statement to match you and others that over react about Dalton... We all know the truth... we all know why McCarron is the back up... Dalton has earned the right to be the starting QB and AJ has done nothing to take it away from him... period. The year AJ went to the playoffs, Dalton was having quite possible the best season of any QB in the league,certainly a top 3 season.

Well, let's support the guy and hope he and "the entire team" can win a Super Bowl... Remember, Anderson and Esiason didn't win a Super Bowl either... heck, they weren't even very successful getting to or performing well in the playoffs... they each had 1 magical season where all the stars aligned and they made it to a SB.... It's not because they're bad QB's... it's because it's hard to do, it takes an entire team effort and lets face it.... it takes some luck... I still believe if Krumrie doesn't get hurt, they win that Super Bowl... that was purely bad luck....

So Palmer was the reason against the Jets I guess... I've watched every playoff game... I've seen a team that was unprepared and out coached every time... A defense that played terribly below the level they played all season and an offense that played poorly, which includes Andy but isn't because of him... And you know it because I can tell from your posts that you do understand the game.... There's not "a reason".... Guess last playoff loss was on McCarron because he played poorly for most the game... his fault Hill fumbled and our defense imploded

There's not A REASON... period. That line of thinking will drive you crazy.... They haven't won a playoff game since 1990... there are several reasons! Dalton isn't even a top 20 reason why they haven't won... Heck, he's one of many reasons they've even made the playoffs recently.... he's not "the reason" and I believe you know that... We all know that... it's wishful thinking to say, "change QB 's and we'll win in the playoffs ".... It's not that easy... we didn't come close to winning with Palmer either and he finally won some playoff games last year with his third team...

Agreed... the worst part about this O-line... who are they? Do they run block better or pass block better? I don't see consistency from them whether they try to run or pass... Sometimes they get a nice run block play, but not often... Sometimes our QB has all day... but rarely... It's really frustrating.... is it coaching? Players? Most likely both?

If he has good hands at this level... he will be awesome... he's got unreal speed.

Fair enough... nor do I make things up... I said the interception wasn't behind the receiver.... it was a bad throw in that situation though... You and Futurecoach will get your wish though... McCarron will see game time this season... the O-line is so bad, now way Andy stays healthy for 16 games... not unless they improve drastically.
