  1. I wouldn’t, but Masons not interested and in all honesty I wouldn’t hire a coach on the staff to replace Chuck, Boyle can’t settle for a unproven head coach they have to hire a coach with a proven track record of competing for state titles. Just my opinion
  2. I talked to Bill Mason this afternoon and he said his name is not on the list and didn’t sound interested at all, being told Hester is staying till his son graduates, wouldn’t be shocked if Jacob Tamme is involved I heard that rumor early last season, in all honesty I don’t think there’s a coach on the staff that could keep Boyle at the level their at now, if Brandon declines, and if I were Boyle I would go after some of the top coaches in the state with a proven pedigree of competing for state titles.
  3. You maybe right, although I think Bill would be the only in-house coach that would be successful and in saying that I’m not saying Chuck Smith successful.
  4. The only name that I’ve heard other than Brandon is Bill Mason.
  5. IMO Pardue has retired to fishing, and I’ve been told Hester is retiring from teaching but not coaching.
  6. Just got a text saying that Chuck told the team this morning that he was retiring.
  7. Heard this morning that the search for a new coach for Boyle has begun, haven’t heard anything official about Smith leaving but the source follows Boyle football as close as anyone.
  8. Just pure speculation on my part but would Brandon Smith leave South Warren to become the new OC at Boyle with Chuck staying on as HC for awhile longer with Brandon taking over in a few years?
  9. I hope you’re right, got anything to back it up or is it just your opinion?
  10. One of the assistant coaches told me yesterday evening that Hester was retiring from teaching but not coaching.
  11. I had a former boss of 21 years and he’s also a good friend tell me about 1 1/2 to 2 months ago that Chuck and Chris Pardue both were going to retire at seasons end and that Brandon Smith would be the next head coach at Boyle, did I mention that he fishes with Pardue on a regular basis and they’re pretty good friends, I hadn’t given it much thought until today but this guy used to be a board member at Boyle and is a reliable source, at the time I ask if this was the gospel and he said it was what he was hearing.
  12. IMO Highlands had a better Defense than Central, although JC maybe solid I don’t think they will have the speed of Highlands or Central, and neither one of them had the speed to cover Boyle’s receivers.
  13. If Boyle can control JC’s running game then I expect Boyle to score in the 40’s, if JC can sustain drives and eat the clock then I see a low scoring type game, I don’t think JC’s defense will be as good as Highlands or Central.
  14. I agree, it happened several times thru out the game and wasn’t called Central also had player’s hurdling the lineman on Boyle’s extra point and field goal attempt which I believe is illegal.
  15. Sure they did but Central had more negative yardage plays than positive for the game, it’s not a big deal I’m sure Rebelstat is pretty close with the numbers.
