  1. St Henry was in the 33rd district with Ryle, Conner, Boone, and previously Simon Kenton until 2007. They had some very good and talented teams in the early 00's (01-03) and mid 00's (06-07). I gotta believe if they played in the district they do now with some of those teams they would have won a lot more championships.
  2. Tends to happen when the assistant AD is the track/cc coach and the head AD is his best friend...
  3. Someone's sensitive. And why no names? This is a thread about St. Henry with no doubt people from St. Henry in it. If they don't know their principal, assistant principal, and athletic directors then they're a little of base with bashing the administration. And I only brought them up to prove a point that they did attend games when I attended St. Henry. Nothing wrong about that
  4. Well that's completely different from what you said before. You said nothing about banquets or games. No doubt they're aren't leaving because of that. When I played there Otte, Gish, Grau, and Harden came to games.
  5. Agree to an extent but the administration did have something to do with Bieger, Terrell, and Mullins leaving. The administration is also responsible for the Collins hire. Anybody that knew Collins track record knew he wasn't in it for the long haul. Only until something better came around. And the administration is also responsible for finding a coach who is committed to the program. So in a way, it does fall on the administration.
  6. It's not all on the coach to do fundraising. It's on the coach to organize the fundraising. It falls on the parents and players to participate and make something of the fundraising.
  7. There is never anybody stopping you from using a good old fashioned rake and edger. Pull some some weeds, level things out, take care of your dirt and grass, clean things up, etc etc.. You'd be surprised how far that will go. As far as moving a fence and things of that nature, while it may be wanted, it certainly has no bearing on having a good looking field.
  8. The argument of St. Henry only giving money and caring about certain sports is a tired one. I went to St.Henry. I played both baseball, basketball, and soccer. St. Henry has never been and never will be a "baseball school". If you want the field to look like it did then I suggest you take after the coaches and kids that built the field into one of the best in te region. Even before Walts money, Bieger was there and he is who built that field into what it was. Let's just say I doubt he had the money that Walt did. So, if you want the field to go back to what it was then get your butts out on the field and work on it because I can guarantee you, your not going to get any help from the administration.
  9. Any rumors or thoughts on who would be a good fit at St. Henry?
  10. What is Rameys first name?
  11. Mike Bricker at Champions... That says enough
  12. Heard there may be a little more to that story than what we know. Rumor around Erlanger is that St. Henry got Collins background check back and they were not to impressed with it.
  13. So where does St. Henry go from here? Any ideas who they may go after?
  14. Well if digging up a guys past and arguing about it on a forum is your idea of fun then have at it.
  15. Here is a crazy idea.. Why dont we stop arguing about whether Dave is good/bad/ugly/etc and just see what happens. I am pretty sure that no matter what your opinions may be that St. Henry has found their guy for the time being. So lets let the cards fall before we judge.
  16. That would be interesting. I know Craig very well. I feel like St. Henry may go with someone a little older and more experienced however.
  17. Agree 125%. He is one of the best out there. But... St. Henry parents and administration couldn't handle coach Bieger or Terrell.. I doubt coach Myerhoff would last very long out there.
  18. Anybody hear of any of the possible candidates for the job?
  19. Considering most of the hours he spent on the field was when nobody else was around i wouldnt call it supervising. That guy put in A TON of work on that field. And if your "Andy" comment is implying that i am Gil's son Andrew you would be wrong.
  20. Am I the only one that is completely thrown back by the "practice soccer field" and the way that facilities are used today. It seems as if baseball and softball are the only outdoor sports anymore that practice and play on their own field with the exception of schools who have turf. I can somewhat see why a school with football and soccer would want a practice field because that would completely tear up the grass. But St. Henry has no football team. I just wonder what the soccer team would be saying if they started to build a practice baseball and softball field??? And then you have schools like Boone or Lloyd who have their teams practice in the outfield of the baseball field so they can save their grass.. What would the administration do if come February 15th the baseball team was out on the football field so they could "save their grass"???
  21. Speaking as a St. Henry alum who played for both coach Bieger and Terrell, that field was built by the coaches and players. Countless hours of sweat and hard work. The kids used to be on that field working until coach Bieger had to bring his truck up to the field and turn his lights on. Warning track, cut outs, edging, fences in front of the dugout, trees planted behind the outfield fence, wind screens, etc etc was all the work of the coaching staff and kids. And a HUGE part of all of it was Gil Hitchcock. That man was there with coach Biegs and Terrell and works and unbelievable amount of hours on that field. I have to agree after going through the program that the administration does not care about the baseball or softball programs very much at all. There were times while I was at the school that we got kicked out of the gym for intramural volleyball IN THE MIDDLE OF APRIL! I also know more than a few people that are on the board there and sadly enough KyWonder hit the nail on the head. I also thought it was funny that they were charging 5 dollar admission this year when I was always told that Paul Kramer told them that if his name were on that field they were not to charge admission. If that is true, I would sure hope Mr. Kramer doesn't get wind of that!
  22. Sooooooo...... Can anybody send some answers to my original post and talk about how the teams are doing. The SWOL and Knothole debate can be debated on another thread. Just to throw my knowledge of the issue in though I can tell you to ask any high school coach in NKY what league they would like to have their kids playing (regardless of talent) and they will tell you without a doubt SWOL or select ball. Its more than just talent. Its who your playing against, where you play, how many games you play, coaches, players you play with, etc. Its night an day the difference between Knothole and SWOL. Many high school coaches see Knothole as a cancer in NKY now. My meaning by this is that these kids play Knothole and win a city championship and think they are the best of the best and that there can not possibly be somone out their better than their team. Well.. when you get into the SWOL and your playing the Midland Redskins, or traveling and playing East Cobb or the Indiana Bulls, Ohio Yankees, etc.. you find out really quickly you a small fish in a very big pond. Some of these kids are good enough to play college ball at the D-3 or junior college level and many of them never do because they think theyre being screwed over if they dont go D-1 or D-2. There are many ways of looking at the issue. Just my thoughts..
  23. With high school ball now finished, what are some of the are summer teams looking like? Colonels 18u 16u, Bluegrass, Bucs, ATY, etc...
  24. That makes for 2 D-1 athletes, 1 D-2, and 1 D-3 athletes in the Kuebbing family.. Pretty cool
