Big game tonight as the Wildcats of Newport visit Hebron to take on the Cougars of Conner. This will be a big night for the Cougars as this is Senior Night. Can the young Wildcats come in and ruin Senior Night for the guard heavy Cougars who have 4 seniors averaging double digits in scoring? Newport is averaging 62.5 points a game and Conner just a little better at 65.3. This should be a showdown with I believe 859 Sports in the house with the play by play and live feed. if I don’t get to distracted I’ll try to update the score at the end of each quarter.

Going back to January of 2018, Conner is 11-0 vs Ryle.

Very physical game in Taylor Mill today. I think the size of Hamiltons front court impacted the Cougars today. The Hamilton Big Blue were very patient on offense and they made Conner work on defense. This game went back and forth with both teams leading multiple times. Conner had the lead with around 3 minutes left but the Big Blue battled back and hit some big shots down the stretch. I’m not making excuses for Conner but I think the game last night against Boone County took a little out of them, they just looked a little sluggish at times. Hamilton Big Blue I thought played well and have some nice players.

Alumni night at Conner and the Cougars get the win over long time rival Boone County. Bonne started the game strong and took an early lead over Conner. Landen Hamilton picks up 2 quick fouls in the 1st quarter and is brought back to the bench by Coach Otte. Boone County ends the 1st leading 17 - 16. Conner starts to get it going in the second and pulls ahead to end the half 40 - 29. 3rd quarter Conner starts a little slow and Boone cuts the lead down but Conner makes a little run and ends the 3rd quarter 55 - 44. 4th quarter Conner plays to their strength and finish the game 73 - 58. Nice game by Boone County’s Maddox Jones who finished with 24. The young man had the “old man’s” inside game working from the post and made some nice jumpers from 15’ in.

Mason County (Feb 3) game will be a tough one also and will be Conner’s senior night.

Wow…30 free throws. Never thought I’d see the day a team took more free throws than Cov Cath.

Also Landen Hamilton scored his 1000th point in this game.

First win for Conner vs Covington Catholic since 2008 and the first win for Coach Otte verses his mentor since taking over at Conner. Hamilton and Kramer both with a big game..

Conner hasn’t beat Cov Cath since 2008. If the Cougars are hitting from behind the 3 point line and take a lead going into the. 4th quarter it could be a great night for the Cougars.
