wow! Walter, watch what you type!:taz:

Perhaps, but they'll have to beat those 2 teams for me to believe that.
Give them time to get everyone on the floor and gel and they will
-
Campbell County 58. Dixie 51
Holmes vs. Dixie TBD
Dixie missing 3 starters... game at Campbell County, where the home cookin is good
Dixie at full strength beats them
-
St. Henry lost to Dixie by 6, Campbell by 5, & Holmes by 4. Their only lopsided loss was to CovCath.
Dixie is better than both Holmes and Campbell
-
First off, St Henry was never in the game. If Rabe does not get hurt its a 20+ win for Dixie. When he was guarding Goetz, Goetz did not score.
Once Rabe went out of the game at the beginning of the 4th quarter a few things happened.
1.) St Henry started to press
2.) St Henry coach put in a "goon squad" (classic hockey move)... that's why the 2 bigs were out... I was sitting right behind the St Henry coach and could hear him... he was telling his guys to give the hard fouls, but to not get the intentional
3) the refs switched the way they were calling the game... they were calling super tight fouls in the first half, but then started letting St Henry get away with "hack-a-shaq"... the refs really started holding their whistles and multiple Dixie players were getting hit in the face and even knocked down...
4) I don't know why, but Dixie went to a 2-3 zone after Rabe went out... St Henry has no real speed, nor the athletes to hurt Dixie in a M2M... but Dixie played zone and gave up too many open 3s... St Henry hit a goofy amount of them
Again, I came away less impressed with the Cru... Dixie at full strength beats them by 20+
One last thing... several parents and players saw the St Henry player laughing as he walked away from Rabe while he was on the floor hurt and crying
-
I was not impressed with St Henry and I have zero respect for their coach after this game.
-
I was beginning to think there at the end Chevy was going to have to pull out some magic. the theory that St. Henry didn't match up with Dixie was about to go out the window..
Dixie was up 15 or 16 when Liam Rabe got hurt with more than 7 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. On top of that Rabe played sick the whole game.... he puked 4 times in the locker room at halftime.
Rabe had 13 at the time and just hit his 3rd 3, but one of the refs whistled off on a bogus 3 seconds call.
I'm the wrong guy to be poking right now Danny

I went back and looked at some past winners... I won't single anyone out, but there are more than several who were not "the best player" in the state of KY the year they won.
-
I think we should amend that. Silly senior rule. Mr. Basketball should be the best player, but I digress.
How is "best" defined?
• best stats?
• on the best team (beats the other candidates teams)?
• commits to the best college?
-
I'm thinking you're missing that Jalen Perry's team defeated Drew McDonald's team when they went head to head.
Oh, my bad, I forgot that once one candidate's team defeats another candidate's team they are no longer under consideration
-
Your a fan of Drew and your close minded
Who? Me?

I think you're exactly right on those being the top 3.
Are you guys just ignoring Drew McDonald's numbers??
-
If those 2 were playing for HHS right now where would you think they'd be ranked in NKY Walter?
-
Ben Weyer comes to mind. I seem to remember there being a big debate when he left HHS after his 8th grade year? Qryche might know, but wasn't his sister a standout soccer player for the Birds with his older siblings all going to Highlands?
I remember the QB being a darn good basketball player... Hoge (sp?)
-
Back to the thread topic... I think CCH can really name their score differential.
-
Its really hard to define. Is there another Nick Ruthsatz or Brandon Hatton out there in the grade school ranks? They just dont come along as often as we would like.
How many good players that were in the pipeline for HHS basketball left prior to Freshman year, or stopped playing altogether? And did they avoid HHS basketball because of coaching, and/or football?
My son is a Senior now and I remember HHS being pretty good at basketball in middle school.
-
The last time Highlands beat CovCath with any consistency the Birds had exceptional players like Jeffrey Vories, McGraw/Simpson, Neltner, etc. I have not seen any of those type players in the past 4-5 seasons.
Why do you think that it is this way? What do you think has caused it?
-
Easy on that humble pie ...Go Colonels!
Dixie has a good team and I call the prediction like I see it. I've seen St Henry play a couple of games and every Dixie game. Dixie has a good team. Predicting a score has nothing to do with being arrogant, as much as it has to do with knowing how teams match up.
-
Dixie will play this game without their starting center, Bolin, but will have Isbel back.
Andrew Hedger had a great game against Dunbar, scoring 15 points in the championship game. Hedger likes playing against tough, physical kids like Kunstek. Hopefully the refs let them bang.
I'll take Dixie by 15+
-
The Red Colonels visit the Cru Friday night in a big district seeding game.
The Cru are coming off an impressive, hard fought, close loss to Cambell County.
Dixie is on a 4 game winning streak and coming off a championship at the AIT.
Who wins and why?
-
After seeing both teams play in person this past weekend at the AIT, Im going to take Rowan by 10 or more.
I have to agree with this. Rowan has 3 very good guards.
The one with blonde hair (#10?) is really, really good. Reminded me a lot of Zach Pangallo from NCC.
And their bigs are solid... rotated 4 big bodies.
