Final from Breathitt County.

Wolves and Bobcats will meet Thursday in the night cap and last game of the quarter-finals. Both teams split regular season, Wolves won 65-56 at Lee County while Lee County won at the Wolves Den 85-72. Wolves are out for revenge after suffering the 85-72 defeat to the Bobcats and make it back to the semi-finals for the second year in a row, while Lee County is looking to advance past the quarter-finals and onto the semi-finals for the first time in a very, very long time.

Patriots and Bulldogs will tip off on Thursday at 6 PM in the first game. These two split both games this season with KCC winning 53-49 and Hazard 52-51. Hazard defeated Knott County Central 46-40 in last year's regional tournament but Knott County Central is 6-2 against Hazard in the regional tournament.

Pirates and Cougars hook up in the night cap on Wednesday. These two haven't played since 2022. Both teams are 2-2 against each other in the regional tournament. Powell County is the hottest team coming into the post season. Letcher County Central is out for revenge because last time these two met in the regional tournament, Powell County won 47-46.

Commodores travel to Jackson on Wednesday to open up 14th region tournament play. Perry County Central defeated Breathitt County 84-55 earlier in the season. Breathitt County ended Perry County Central's season last year in this same regional tournament.

Perry has won 4 of they're last 5 games. Breathitt County has done the complete opposite, losing 4 of they're last 5 games. Breathitt County is 5-4 at home this season. Breathitt County eliminated Perry County Central from last season's regional tournament. Will the same fate happen this season or will the Commodores get revenge and send the Bobcats home? Knott County Central has won 3 straight and 10 of they're last 11. Hazard coming off a double digit loss to they're crosstown rival, Perry County Central in the 54th district championship game, has to have a bad taste in they're mouth. Bulldogs have won 9 of they're last 11 games. GM 4 - Wolfe County vs. Lee County: These two split both games this season, Wolfe County 65-56 (at Lee) and Lee County 85-72 (at Wolfe). The final week of the regular season has came and gone and just like that we are now in post season play where we will see a lot of teams seasons come to an end. Weekly Notes: Hazard and Powell County went toe-to-toe in a good ol' fashion slobber knocker as good Ole JR would say when calling a WWF match, Seth Caudill finished with 34 points to lead the Hazard Bulldogs to a 75-70 win over the Pirates. Hazard would go undefeated last week, winning all 4 games. The Patriots of Knott County Central split two games last week, falling in a heart breaker to Wolfe County 48-46 in Campton. The Patriots would bounce back and cruise past the Black Bears of Harlan County 68-47. Wolfe County picked up two wins last week with one of them being a big monster win, defeating Estill County 80-55 and defeating Knott County Central 48-46. The Wolves spent too much time celebrating the big win in the Wolves den that they got ambushed by some Bobcats from Lee County in a 85-72 loss to Lee County. Perry County Central and Letcher County Central went toe-to-toe last week as well at the John C. Combs Arena at Perry County Central. The Commodores would come out victorious 66-56. Breathitt County has gone 2-4 in they're last 6 games. 1 and 3 in they're last 4. Even though they have already punched they're ticket to the 14th regional tournament, that's not a good standing going into post season play. We are now entering the final week of the 2025/26 regular season. We've seen a lot of ups and downs this year across the state. Most districts tournament pairings were finalized last week. Weekly Notes: The Pirates of Powell County won all 4 games last week and now have won 9 straight. They are absolutely on fire right now. The Pirates stand at 6-0 in district play and have won every district game, fairly easy. Jeff Honeycutt returned to the sidelines at Breathitt County last week, this time as he brought his Knott County Central Patriots into the Fairce O'Woods Coliseum. The Patriots and Honeycutt would leave Jackson with the 66-49 win. Since the loss to Knott County Central, Hazard has won 3 straight, defeating Belfry last Saturday and then Letcher County Central and Harlan Ind. Coming into Sunday (2/15) when they fell to Martin County 93-80. Bulldogs have a tough road to close out the season especially with 3 games in 4 days. After they're 64-61 loss to Estill County, the Bobcats returned the favor and derailed the Engineers 84-76 but since then have lost both games they've played. The Good news is the Bobcats are undefeated in district play and due to a 3-team district, the Bobcats have already punched they're ticket back to the 14th region tournament.
