14th Region: Week 11

We are now entering the final week of the 2025/26 regular season. We've seen a lot of ups and downs this year across the state. Most districts tournament pairings were finalized last week. 

Weekly Notes:

The Pirates of Powell County won all 4 games last week and now have won 9 straight. They are absolutely on fire right now. The Pirates stand at 6-0 in district play and have won every district game, fairly easy.

Jeff Honeycutt returned to the sidelines at Breathitt County last week, this time as he brought his Knott County Central Patriots into the Fairce O'Woods Coliseum. The Patriots and Honeycutt would leave Jackson with the 66-49 win.

Since the loss to Knott County Central, Hazard has won 3 straight, defeating Belfry last Saturday and then Letcher County Central and Harlan Ind. Coming into Sunday (2/15) when they fell to Martin County 93-80. Bulldogs have a tough road to close out the season especially with 3 games in 4 days.

After they're 64-61 loss to Estill County, the Bobcats returned the favor and derailed the Engineers 84-76 but since then have lost both games they've played. The Good news is the Bobcats are undefeated in district play and due to a 3-team district, the Bobcats have already punched they're ticket back to the 14th region tournament.

Letcher County Central is starting to play some good basketball, having won 3 straight and 4 of they're last 5 games.
