Pirates and Cougars hook up in the night cap on Wednesday. These two haven't played since 2022. Both teams are 2-2 against each other in the regional tournament. Powell County is the hottest team coming into the post season. Letcher County Central is out for revenge because last time these two met in the regional tournament, Powell County won 47-46.

I believe Powell County will come out on top in this one. The Pirates looked really sharp in the district tournament and are playing well. They start a veteran lineup of four seniors to go with high scoring sophomore guard Conner Morguson, and all five starters can put points on the board. They don’t have to rely on 1 or 2 players to carry the weight. And although they aren’t loaded with height, they have mostly 6’2 range players, that are definitely not vertically challenged, particularly district MVP Bryson Edwards.
