Backdoor- I think you may have some false information. I do not recall seeing eithier coach at any RA Jones games over the past 3 -4 years. Additionally, the kids at this school are not coached in the summer by Coach Downs the coaches at RA put them in a summer league. I cannot speak for whether or not they are involved in the Ockerman program but as far as the other feeder school RA Jones i have seen no evidence to support this, thus my comment "I do however wish Coach M had a presence in the feeder schools to help motiviate our up and coming players" -

Well said and I agree. I think this all stems from the fact he is adjusting this year and people are making the assumptions as to why. No coach knows everything and is conintually growing throughout the years. Coaches who are stubborn and refuse to adapt are the ones that will never be succesful. I do however wish Coach M had a presence in the feeder schools to help motiviate our up and coming players. -

I think we can throw out his first 3 years considering that school has had maybe 2 -3 winning seasons in the last 15. Lets stick to what he has done at Boone to be fair. Sometimes Coaches have to get a start where you can and sometimes the talent isnt there to produce the wins. Not saying Coach M is good or bad because I don't have enough info to form that opinion. -

Agreed you have to have and generate interest at a young age. Presence and involvement is the best way to do this. -

Have we gotten an answer to this statement? One of the biggest keys should be working with your feeder schools to make certain you have a solid pipeline of athletes streaming in with the skills needed to be succesfully at the HS level. -

So Mike Gabbard is listed on WKU's rooster for the fun of it? If I am not mistaken that is a D1 school! -

Why does it matter if they played college ball? If they had talent they had talent period! What they choose to do with it is their choice. -

Very good point! No argument there. But this is a team sport. Just playing devils advocate here for debate purposes. I have no issues with coach M. -

Have been and disagree but again I am not at practice so that may sway my opinion being at practice. We haven't seen enough of the others to make that determination based on games alone. Practice may tell another story but I have seen one of them in game situations and IMO feel needs more PT. -

wow... apparently you have taken my comments as offensive...I am not sure what practice has to do with my statements above. I am not at practice and apparently you aren't there eithier. IMO the best PG on the team is sitting on the bench. He is quicker, more atheltic, and goes 110% all the time and makes the other teams d work. Not takeing away from the other PG's i just feel he is a better PG choice. I am not at practice and not the coach so its not my call but my opinion. As far as great talent at every level, its what you do with it and the results obtained. I am simply saying IMO i think that talent that has come thru should have resulted in a couple of state tourney trips. -

Like I said didn't say he was a bad coach just trying to see the justification for one of the best statement. He has had a ton of talents come thru the boone program the past few years with no state tourney trip. I agree the win at NCC and the gameplanning this year has been good. I do think he could utilize his bench a little better this year as i think there is some talent not being used. -

I wish i could have watched that game I heard it was a very good game. As Far as Giesler did anyone else notice how he should have been called for a lane violation when boone was shooting Free throws. He was clearly in the lane on the release. Unless the rules have changed i thought it was on the rim you could box out. I asked a few people and they saw it too and thought the same thing. -

Any bandbox gyms left?

I am not sure Silver Grove qualifies? It has only on side of the gym seating but no balcony. -

Maybe i started the post a little harshly with "How many learning experiences do they need?" This was probably why it came across as an attack. -

I watched the games at the Henry County Tourney... "we have to play smart basketball and execute almost perfectly as well as rely on the other team to make mistakes in order for us to win" this is what most teams have to rely on. I watched a win and a loss. Heart is not "run around and scream and yell and pound our chests on every play" that is poor sportsmanship. Heart is aggressive go get it never die attitude. I didn't see this in those games. I am simply saying the games i watched i saw no urgency, no attacking of the basket, and at times they just ran through the motions. As a graduate of BCHS i want them to do well and hope they do, as a coach I am just telling you what i saw in those games. -

How many learning experiences do they need? I have only watched 2 games but seems to me there is a lack of heart on this team. No urgency, no will to win. It just seems like they run through the motions. -
Well said and as a coach I totally agree.
