  1. I have checked the Massey Ratings predictions from time to time throughout this year and it is crazy how accurate they are in terms of who wins. I'd like to know their exact percentage rate? The other unbelievable fact about them is that not only are they correct on who wins, but more times than not, they have the the difference in the scores correct. Sometimes within a couple points of their predictions.
  2. From all I have gathered, Marion County is legit. They appear to have the size, the power and more than enough speed/athleticism to not just win this game, but possibly make it to the finals. I know they have caught flak for some of their wins earlier in the year versus what some might consider lesser competetition. However, they took Bell County to the wire and blew Green County out of the water, and Green IMO will be playing in the semis next week. Western has as much athleticism as anybody in the state, regardless of class, but I think Marion gets this one by 2 TD's.
  3. Mayfield moves on. I expect this one to be close much of the game, though. This game is an all out war anytime these two teams meet up. Everyone knows Mayfield is a top 10 program in the history of Kentucky high school football, but I learned something the other day that was unreal about Mayfield and their tradition. 27 out of the last 30 years, Mayfield has played on Thanksgiving weekend, so basically, 27/30 years they have been playing in the State-Semi's. That is amazing. Some of you Mayfield faithful correct me if I'm wrong or know the exacts about that?
  4. I think his family was a huge reason he took the West Jessamine job in the first place? You talk about a whale of a coach, in my opinion, coaches like Wood are your best coaches. Why? Because they have gone into programs like Morgan County and West Jessamine, whom had never won before and then turned them into winners; and not just winners, but did a complete 180 with the programs. The situation at West Jessamine has to be tough, though. Because no matter how hard the kids and coaching staff(s) work, 9/10 years, the season is going to end by the 2nd round. That's at best. Lexington Catholic and Boyle County will continue to put a strangle hold on that district and region until they get tired of doing so. Wood, his staff at West Jessamine and the players should be highly commended on a job well done.
  5. Loads of talent and they also play very physical. Obviously, they are very well coached. Personally, I dont think it will even be a game v.s Oldham, and no disrespect toward Oldham, but John will just have them outmatched at every position. Cannon, for you and all the rest of the Bluebird Nation, I think this is the year that you all and John will finally meet up. They are very similar to Christian County in terms of talent.
  6. As of right now: McCreary Central(4A) Fleming County(3A) Dunbar(6A) West Jessamine(4A) Barren County(5A) South Warren (Will be 4A. New school in BG/Warren County to open in fall of 2010) Martha Layne Collins (Will be 4A. New school in Shelby County to be open in fall of 2010)
  7. If you want to see a bunch of athletes and big plays, Russellville and Paducah Tilghman should be fun.
