  1. I thought he didn't start until after the Districts [the Holy Cross game].
  2. IMO people from Covington just relate to Dickie more. He had to overcome more than just the other teams defense. He over came the inner-city of Covington and the temptations that came from peers. He let nothing get in his way. No disrespect to Schloemer, but as an inner-city kid from Cov. growing up Dickie was the one in the projects running Basketball camps and reffing little league games. He was a GREAT HIGH SCHOOL PLAYER, but an even better man. Jack is also a legend in Covington, but Dickie was starting PG for the CATS, and he always reached back to the kids. Thats why we attach to Dickie because what he stands for as a man.:notworthy:
  3. I've always felt the same way with Burt Pouncy. Who played for Holy Cross.
  4. Right by the 12th street bridge going to Newport {by the flood wall}. It's called Dicky Beal Drive I think.
  5. I don't think Riley is D-1. But in two years who knows ? I think he can play at NKU. We can disagree.
  6. IMO what hurt Riley is playing behind Jefferson and Avery. This was his first year starting people really didn't get to see him until the sweet 16. As far as his handles, he can handle for sure no question. Maybe not D-1 RIGHT NOW. Two years of JUCO I could see him in the swac or some conference like that. To say he can't play at NKU is a strecth. He is as good as both Brenden and Jordan Stowers who both played for Nku.
  7. I agree the kid can shoot. He has unlimited range when he gets his feet set.
  8. LMB I have to disagree with you right here. IMO the only thing Euton does better than J.J. Is shoot the set shot from 3. No way he is a better offensive player. The only way Euton scores is off the set shot or getting put backs against smaller defenders. Give me one thing that Euton does, that J.J. can't. J.J. can also shoot the set 3 (not as good as Euton) but he can knock it down. J.J. is better off the dribble, better at finishing at the rim, better at handling the ball, better mid-range game, and is the better passer of the two. So what makes Euton a better offensive player?
  9. A man of his words. Was that one of the Basey's cutting him up ?
  10. I agree that they have big roles to fill left by three seniors. Just as this year they had roles to fill left by seven seniors and it goes on. But knowing all these young men personally and seeing the work ethic that they have developed over the past two years I have no doubt that they will get better. I will be the first to say if you think the big 3 for Holmes has already peeked you are sadly mistaken. The best is yet to come from them 3 and Rice. And yes I'm a big Holmes Homer my glasses are as red as Clifford the big red dog.
  11. I never once said the other 9th region teams won't get better. I just think Holmes will have a better team next year than they had this year most people in Covington feel the same way. I will admit I see through red glasses, but the Bulldogs has proving me right more than once. They have proving me right 4 out of the last 5 years.
  12. Thanks GT sound right after looking at some film on Kilpatrick. I've been hearing Oklahoma is looking at Pittman.
  13. IMHO I think the gap between Holmes and the rest of the 9th will get wider next year. Holmes as a team gets bigger and deeper next year. Projected starting lineup EP 6'7, Rice 6'6, Rico 6'5, J.J 6'4, Mayfield 6'0 all could grow an inch or two also. Keyvon younger brother D. Rice is 6'3 as a freshman can already flush it anyway you want, has a nice all around game. Him, Slusher, Mcclendon, and the big young freshman 6'6 could all be big for varsity. One more name Collins. Im not sure Collins will play a lot next year but he is for sure a star in the making at Holmes. His handles are serious.
  14. If he ends up at Xavier and they beat us with him. I will lose my mind. I know who ever gets him is getting a stud for, 4 maybe 5 years. Depends on if he red shirts. GT I have a question, how do you think Johnson stacks up compared to Kilpatrick?
