Has everyone already heard about the young boy that was trying out for Western Hills Basketball Team having a heart attack and dying during practice today? My thoughts go out to his family, team and schoolmates, and friends!!!

8th region Cats Pause preview

Agreed. Owen has NO players ANYWHERE NEAR D1. -
That is not what I said. I said they are my pick for the dark horse in the 8th. They have a great core - they are ALL "team" players unlike one of the guards from last year. And they have all (even their younger varsity players) developed so much just since last season. I said that they were going to cause alot of upsets. I don't think ANY team is unbeatable. I just keep it real. JMO

Top 10 players in the 11th Region
Ballr71 replied to FANOFTHE11th's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
It really is hard to narrow it down. But I will take Vance Hall in place of 3 or 4 in the list. -
A mystery that will be solved soon.

Those guards graduated. There are NO ball hogs left. All guards left are real team players!!

Agreed. Sawyer Williams is a sophomore and has more talent than either of the other two had at his age. And he has not yet reached his full potential. He will be a BEAST HIS senior year. D1 baby!!! -
Yeah, none of the guards left are ball hogs. They know when and how to throw to the bigs. Lewis especially. He's the only one out of Kelly, Lewis, and Osborne that has started Varsity (all of his Junior year). Kelly and Lewis are seniors this year. Osborne I think is a Sophomore.
-
True. So true.
-
Agreed!! And it will be a new/fun/exciting season for ALL teams!!
-
Yes, were being very technical. Several returning Varsity players - Shelton, Culligan, Lewis, Kelly, Osborne, and Williams. That's THIS season! Cannot wait!! Oh, and Lewis, Kelly, and Osborne are SUPER guards (for whomever was stating Owen has no guards). The others are the bigs - Shelton that can step out and hit the three, Williams who DOMINATES the inside, and Culligan 4th or 5th in the state. Will be a fun season!!
-
Thank you. Finally someone saw the same game I saw. My point being - Lewis is going to be a force this year. Not alot to talk about since no one remembers him from last year. But when he played, the team was a better core.
-
Weren't we talking about this year's players? lol:banana:
-
No. Owen was up by two at the half. You all need to get your facts and then come back. And after half - Owen had a two, then Anderson went on a 15-0 run before Owen scored again.
-
You need to recheck your memory my friend. Owen was up by quite a few at the half. And they have several gaurds. Kelly, Lewis, Osborne, and four bigs.
-
You are absolutely right. It will be interesting.

Update on Shelby Valley's Elisha Justice

Yes, that would be wonderful for anyone!!! Good luck to him!!! -
Agree (with Simon Kenton being a possible shoe in and an unstoppable force) and disagree.....I don't think Anderson County is going to be as strong and undefeatable as everyone thinks. I watched Anderson vs most under-rated team in the region last year. Owen was down 19-0 - Blake Lewis came in like a little knat, stole the ball from C.J. twice only make simple layups both times, firing his team up to play tighter defense and better offense, Owen came back to take the lead and keep the lead til after half-time. Coach Duvall put the senior back in from the first half while Lewis sat the bench. I'm telling ya - Owen could turn out to be an unstoppable force this year.
