Phelps transferred to Gallatin County. Von Handorf never intended on going to high school at Villa, and many up and coming junior high players have gone to other high schools. Maybe with a new coach they will be able to retain some of their junior high players.

I always though it would be interesting to have a season of "first one voted off" ... give them all another chance to actually play! Remember the lady a few years back who sang the song she wrote about survivor? No wonder they got rid of her first!!

Vonhandorf was never enrolled at Villa

The game was very exciting! Villa was down 10 with a minute to go and battled back. Villa junior, Troy Phelps, scored 10 points and pulled in 10 rebounds to ring up his 5th straight double-double. Troy also had a clutch 3 pointer to set up the last second 3 pointer by Cole VonHandorf, who finished with 20 points. Villa senior, Thomas Steinkoenig scored 9 points with 6 rebounds, and Villa senior, Andy Piccirillo scored 14 points. Ludlow has a nice team and is very well coached, but it was a great team effort by Villa on the come back. Just goes to show that it ain't over 'til it's over!

Villa senior Andy Piccirillo led the team with 22 points, which included six 3s. Villa junior Troy Phelps had 11 points and 11 rebounds for his 3rd consecutive double-double. Villa senior Randy Lund had 11 points and 5 rebounds. This was Villa's 4th game of the season and I believe it was Dayton's first. The Blue Lightning are back in action this Friday at home facing Calvary Christian, then travel to Ludlow on Monday December 10th. That should be a very good game.

Last year's top three scorers are seniors this year. The Phelps brothers are both about 6-7 to give them some size. The district will be tough but they should compete in D-3.
