  1. I see Brandon on a weekly basis and im 6'1 aqnd he doesnt even look me in the eyes.

Hatton may not appear to be 6'1 because of his body type but his sports physical says he is 73 1/2 inches, so unless the doctor is wrong he is 6'1. If Hatton was only 5'10 then trammel would be about 5'6 and that is not the case. However his height really doesnt have any factor in this thread. It doesnt affect his athleticism or where he would rank in the state as a Freshman.

  2. My top 10.

    1. Quentin Snyder- Ballard

    2. Brandon Hatton- Dixie Heights

    3. Jackson Davis- Lafayette

    4. Jordan Green- Henry Clay

    5. Trey Grundy- Henry Clay

    6. D'Angelo Russell- Central

    7. Zach McNeil- Walton Verona

    8. Shane Hall- Johson Central

    9. Jalen Avery- Cov Holy Cross

    10. Nick True- Highlands

Good list but I would switch Hatton and Snyder. These boys are both extremely talented, however I have seen them play many times especially during the summer AAU and Hatton has a certain edge over Snyder. It is a tough call but I would place Hatton as 1 and Snyder as 2

  3. After seeing Hatton a few times this year Im impressed by his size and strength....but how much weight has this KID put on. He almost looks a bit over weight.

I would have to disagree about appearing a little overweight. Hatton has actually only put on about ten pounds since last season. He has put on inches but not much weight. He is a very solid built kid. He is broad built, but doesnt appear to me to be overweight.

  4. Was Dixie sleep walking through the 1st half? This game sounds pretty crazy but the #1 ranked team in NKY shouldn't be going to over time with Montgomery Co. But teams do have bad games and teams have good games. So was Dixie just not playing their game or are they not as talented as people say?

IMO, Dixie just didnt play at all in the first half. They were down a considerable amount of points at the half time. Also Montgomery Co. was on fire shooting the 3s. They just couldnt miss. I watched Montgomery County tonight and they struggled against a team that doesnt nearly have the same talent as Dixie. I believe Dixie caught them probably on their best shooting game of the season and also slept through the first half. I think at this point it is undeniable that Dixie has pure talent. They are definately a great ball club and dont feel they are overrated by any means.

  5. In '09 the KHSAA site shows he did average 10 per game but the regional game against Holmes wasn't reported, they have 142 in 14 games. In '08 he had 49 points but the district finals and regional first round game weren't included.

Last year Hatton averaged 13.5 ppg. Dixie played 28 games that totals 375 for the year. I don't know why but the last 8 games wasn't reported. Hatton's 7th grade year there were also games not reported and he ended up with right around 80. I can't believe some coaches are so bad with the stats being reported correctly. Kids play there tails off and deserve the correct stats to be reported.

  6. How many did Hatton have?

I believe he had around 25. I think he had four of those in the first half and the other twenty one in the second half. This game went into double overtime. Definately didnt see Dixie struggling as bad as they did against Montgomery Co. in the first two quarters. They eventually pulled it together and came out with the Win but wasnt expecting such a close game. Goose Cohorn was a nice spark in the second half. Prewitt(sp?) did an excellent job for Montgomery County. That kid was on fire today with the three. I think he had around eight three pointers in the first half alone.

  7. With a healthy Stewart and Crowley Highlands beats this team. Towles is not in basketball shape yet given he has only had about 6 practices but when he is no one in this region will be able to stop him in the post.

I would have to totally disagree. If Pike would have been shut down with a healthy Highlands team, then the other Dixie players would pick up what he wouldnt be able to do. That is a big "if" there. That is the great thing about the Dixie team this year, they are able to utilize several boys to be the leader on the floor. I would love to see a rematch(with all of Highlands boys healthy), but even with that I still see a win for Dixie.

  8. Name the kids on Highlands that were held back after the 6th grade? Im just curious because I know all of them and none of them have been. It was a joke about the fact that it that horse has been beaten so many times. You obviously think I was serious. Read between the lines Hoosierdaddy and dont be so quick to jump on the defense. The kid can play no matter what grade he is in and that has been recognized.

First off Hatton was not held back after the 6th grade either. Nick True is considered an exemption, don't know about the other kids. My point is Hatton is not the only kid playing in norhtern Kentucky and around the state that has been held back. Yet it seems like he is the only one that ever gets called out about it and I don't understand.

  9. But should be a sophomore. :) sorry I had to keep beating that dead horse. LOL

I just dont understand why so many times Hatton's name is mentioned, there is a comment about his exemption status. Many high schools including Highlands have exemptions on their teams. It is now a part of High School basketball regardless of each individuals reason why. Why can't we just talk about a child's talent and leave it at that? Hatton will be eighteen just like most of the boys he will be playing with and against during his senior varsity basketball season. This subject is a constantly brought up regardless of what the thread is about. These threads are set up to discuss specific topics, not to continue to beat a dead horse.

  10. Anybody have a boxscore on this game and who did NCC start tonight?

    Here is the box score

Dixie Heights 51, Newport Central Catholic 38

    NewCath (0-1) - Bueter 2 0 5, Hightchew 2 0 4, Ryan 2 0 6, Giesler 5 2 13, Doyle 2 0 4, Schulte 1 0 2, Gruenschlager 2 0 4. Totals: 16 2 38.

    Dixie (4-0) - Hassel 3 0 6, Trammel 1 5 7, Stansberry 4 0 9, Pike 1 0 2, Hatton 8 8 27. Totals: 17 13 51.

    NewCath 11 10 11 6 -38

    Dixie 15 15 10 11 -51

    3-pointers: N 4 (Bueter, Ryan 2, Giesler); D 4 (Stansberry, Hatton 3).

  11. He will be 16 freshman before this spring. I am not saying anything negative. Just stating a fact.

I don't believe this is a fact considering Hatton's birthday doesnt fall before the spring(official first day of spring for 2011 is March 20th). He is fifteen years of age and his birthdate is April 28th,1995. Hopefully that will clear up his age and we can stay on topic. Somehow when speaking about certain athletes age continually becomes a question. This should be everyones answer.

  12. Alright, since nobody else will say it, I hope you weren't the one keeping the book.

No I wasn't the one keeping the book. The team keeps it's own score regardless if someone from the tournament keeps it or not. This is where I was able to retrieve my stats on all the players.
