  1. Not only against eachother, but also during the summer playing AAU together. Perfect example is Trevan Brown fron Boone and Pike from Dixie. They know eachother's game so it's all in a competative nature. Hightchew, Hatton, and Cohorn played select baseball with eachother for five years together years back. Those guys are friends and it showed after the game with them three talking together. No harm meant by it. Brady is no different than any other kid out there, maybe just a little louder. Fine young man in my book.

Would agree Wingman. I cant imagine any of these fine men meant any harm or foul by anything done during the game or any incidents after the game. I think they all played hard and showed each other respect after the game. This has to be one regional championship game for the history books!

  2. Classless move by Hatton at halfcourt chest pumping to the NCC crowd.

I dont want to beat a dead horse so I will try and make this my last comment about the "chest pumping" incident. I did not witness him doing this but Hatton is an exceptional kid on and off the court. He has alot of commradity among his team mates as well as with other players from different teams. If anyone was privied to listening to his interview on the radio station he gave his hats off to the NCC team as well as their coaches. He also talked to Brady after the game telling him not to hang his head because he played an exceptional game as well as his team did. He is a very classy kid. I believe if the chest pumping exsisted it was a run of emotions and not directed to NCC. It was his way of expressing his joy of helping to lead his team to a ninth region title. Dixie and NCC should be extremely proud of the effort and perserverance they played with tonight. Both exceptional teams and proved today why there were the #1 and #2 seeds in the ninth region. Nothing to hang your heads about tonight NCC, you boys worked your butts off. Good luck to Dixie at Rupp Arena.

  3. Classless move by Hatton at halfcourt chest pumping to the NCC crowd.

Kids do this such a thing all the time. Heck you almost see it in every game game when a kid gets an and 1 call. Look Hatton just won the biggest game of his life and was very excited period. Qryche you just posted after the Dixie vs Highlands game how Hatton didn't do any trash talking. Now you want to call a fifteen year old kid classless. I believe you sir are the one that is classless period.

  4. You must not be 6'1 i see Brandon daily and see almost all of his games he is nowhere near 6'1.He is 5'11 at best 6'0 Zack is more around 5'10 with decent handles.

As Clyde stated Bran's height is not going to be a factor when colleges will be recruiting him with continued success. However, Hatton was at the doctors last week and was measured at 6'2. I do see him daily and that height is pretty accurate. His father is 6'1 and he has surpassed him. As far as Zach McCormicks height he was 5'10 over the summer. I just saw him a few weeks ago at a Dixie home game and he is as tall if not taller than Hatton. He has taken a major growth spurt. Again none of this will be a factor in whatever recruiting is done or as to how many points he will score through out his high school career.

  5. I think Zeke Pike needs to get some credit for this win. In that last couple of minutes when Highlands got to within two, Pike made one big play after another to get the win. Several key rebounds and then the steal and follow up basket. Pike's competitiveness that often hurts him came through at crunch time and would not let Dixie lose this one.

Give credit to the Bluebirds and a great job of coaching by Flynn. He righted the ship, put on the press, switched up the offense a little with some focus on the inside and all of a sudden a blow out is a ball game. Dixie lost their intensity at half time and really never got back on track until Pike made some plays at the end. Trammel put on a show of point guard play in the first half but struggled a little in the second. Same with Hatton. Stewart kept working despite being shut down most of the game and all of a sudden in Q4 the shots started to fall for him. It was a very interesting game.

Despite allowing Highlands to out play them in the second half and almost losing a huge lead, I still say Dixie is the favorite to win it. They have no weaknesses on their team. Very solid in every way.

I agree Pike came up with some huge plays that help seal the deal. I thought that Pike, Hatton, Trammel and Stansburry all played very nice games for the Colonels in one aspect or another(defense/offense). I do think that in order to win the regional title, they must not become so complacent in the second half of their ball games. They took a huge lead in the first half , shutting Highlands down at the basket. They must maintain that intensity and mentality the second half of the game. Hopefully they will learn from this game and shut Boone out Saturday night and advance to the finals. Good luck Colonels!!!

  6. Stat lines for Stewart and Crowley in the NCC game.

    Stewart 12/18 2/4- 26pts 10 rebounds. 66% FG shooting

    Crowley 10/16 0/0- 25 pts 62.5% shooting 5/9 from 3

Id say this will be needed on Thursday night.

No offense Qryche11 but I am hoping not! I want to see my Red Colonels come out on top. I do think it is going to be a very good game and much closer than their first appearance.

  7. I am rooting for Dixie to win the 9th because Trammel is one of my favorite players and after bouncing back (no pun intended) from his injury it would be a great way to cap off his high school career. Coming up thru the ranks he was a PG who scored in bunches but he has been able to change his game and become the floor general that Dixie needed to make them the best team in the 9th.

Me too, expecting and hoping Dixie takes the regional title. Trammel is a kid that I truly enjoy watching! He is a senior and would love to watch him be part of winning the ninth region title. They have the boys to do it, lets hope they can all stay healthy and continue on their winning streak!

  8. Box Score:

    Villa Madonna - Smith 2 0 4, Kurzendoerfer 6 4 20, Weickenannt 1 1 3, Haynes 1 0 2, Steinkoenig 0 1 1, Phelps 2 0 4, McLean 4 3 11. Totals: 16 9 45.

    Dixie (24-3) - Hassel 2 0 5, Trammel 4 1 9, Bruns 2 0 4, Stansberry 4 0 8, Evans 4 3 11, Pike 9 0 18, Cohorn 2 0 4, Hatton 7 1 15, Ruehr 0 2 2, Justice 1 0 2, Muntis 2 0 4. Totals: 37 7 82.

  9. I believe Hatton had fifteen tonight. He actually was shy 54 points coming into tonight, which I believe makes him 39 points needed. If Hatton hits this it would be a pretty nice accomplishment for this fifteen year old kid. It was nice seeing all the Dixie players getting minutes tonight. Chevy removed all his starters with 7 min and 20 seconds left in the fourth. There was alot of players subbing in and out tonight. Dixie will need to go deep in that bench to make a run for that regional title.

  10. I could see St. Henry beating Lloyd in the first round of the 34th District and advancing to 9th Region tournament. Despite only 4 wins going into Districts St. Henry got Zach Barnett back recently and some of the younger players have been playing well lately.

I would agree. I could definately see St Henry sitting in the final game at Districts and blowing past Lloyd.
