  1. Instead of being in Detroit, I will be sitting right next to you all. See you there. Let me know if you need anything from me.
  2. While Montana was 4-0 in Super Bowl starts, Notre Dame as a whole was 5-2. Thanks DF, you were right on Lamonica losing in SB II, but don't forget about Thiesmann who was 1-1 winning SB XVII and losing SB XVIII.
  3. I guess I will answer my own trivia question, since everyone seems to think it is boring or maybe too easy. While Alabama has produced a 4-0 record with starting QBs with three different men. The other school that is 4-0 did it with just one: Louisiana Tech - Terry Bradshaw
  4. 1. Dixie 4-0 2. Lloyd 2-1 with Villa remaining 3. Ludlow 1-2 or 0-2, not sure if first Villa game was their district game or not. If not, they have yet to play St. Henry and Villa. 4. St. Henry 0-2 with Ludlow and Villa left. 5. Villa Madonna 0-1 or 0-2, not sure if first Ludlow game was their district game or not. If not, they have yet to play Ludlow, Lloyd, and St. Henry A lot of basketball left, but Dixie is the #1 Seed and Lloyd is likely the #2 unless they drop a bomb against Villa.
  5. Big Ben broke the infamous record of lowest QB rating for a SB winning QB set by John Elway in his first SB win against the Packers in SB XXXII. His rating was around 52. In all fairness to Ben, he is the youngest starting QB to win the SB and his low rating was probably because of his youth in playing the "big game." He later had a QB rating of 93 in defeating the Arizona Cardinals in SB XLIII.
  6. Don't make someone do something if all it is going to be is "lip service."
  7. Although Cooper has been playing more inspired basketball as of late, this is Holmes' chance to break their losing streak. Holmes by 15.
  8. And as clutch as Tom Brady is, he lost a Super Bowl too. Let's not try to make Big Ben into Terry Bradshaw or Joe Montana just yet. Not saying the Steelers will lose, but I am just saying.
  9. I'd definitely rather have Crosby. You have to remember that Suisham didn't have a job in this league this year until the Steelers let Reed go. Crosby has also been allowed to attempt 50+ yard FGs, Suisham has not attempted any (which is probably the reason he wasn't a kicker in the league for 13 regular season games). Speaking of special teams as a whole, I would like to know how many return TDs the Steelers have allowed in just the last two seasons, I would be willing to bet it is a lot more than the Packers. And yes, I know, they just allowed one to the Falcons two games ago.
  10. Based on the current rule, HC has four open spots on their schedule to fill their quota for games. Rescheduling Brossart is probably going to happen, but not until after the All "A."
  11. Rank/Team(1st place votes in parentheses)/Poll Pts 1. Dixie Heights (6) 96 2. NewCath (3) 90 3. Holmes 71 4. Scott (1) 57 4. Boone County 57 6. CovCath 49 7. Campbell County 46 8. Holy Cross 27 9. Ryle 20 10. Simon Kenton 14 Others: Conner 9, Cooper 9, Lloyd 2, Walton-Verona 2, Highlands 1 I would be curious to know who voted Scott #1 and no, it was not me.
  12. I was home on leave from the Navy when that accident occurred and I can remember it like it was yesterday. What a tragedy and I see the reminder quite often during our many road trips in season. It is nice to know that something wonderful has happened to someone who lived through that.
  13. Coach Goetz called and said that Frankfort claimed they were over their limit on games. I was not aware there was a limit in the Commonwealth.
  14. Who was that? Of course, I was talking about players who played the position in the Super Bowl and started the game as such. BTW, Alabama is one of two schools who have a 4-0 record with starting QB in the Super Bowl. Who can name the other? Sorry, no prizes for the correct answer, just a virtual pat on the back.
  15. Need to ask the Cowboys about that. Try Super Bowl XXX, Dallas over Pittsburgh. Of course that was with Neil O'Donnell at QB.
  16. I am by no means trying to defend anyone in the Bengals organization, but from what I understand, Katie is the reason why Corey Dillon stuck around for longer than he did. I can also say that is the only instance of Katie being involved with anything specific in the front office.
  17. Aaron Rodgers becomes the third QB from the University of California to be a starting QB in a Super Bowl. The previous two are a combined 0-3 in the big game. Joe Kapp was the starting QB for Minnesota in Super Bowl IV when they lost to Kansas City. Craig Morton was the starting QB for Dallas in Super Bowl V when they lost to Baltimore and the starting QB for Denver in Super Bowl XII when they lost to Dallas. California is now tied with Alabama, Notre Dame and Purdue of Universities that have had three different QBs start in a Super Bowl.
  18. sorry about that...I was in a hurry to give a name to the game.
  19. You can also add that Zach Ryan was huge with all 16 of his points coming in the second half. Nice game for Zach.
  20. Actually it is 18 and they can only play 16 of those, because of duplicate numbers. Hence, the reason why we took a technical foul against Dayton in the first game to get all 18 players into the game. I do not know the reason why so many, except to say that #16, 17 and 18 are probably all good kids and Coach wants to reward them by dressing varsity.
