  1. The foul on Preston should have not been called. The WVU had the ball but could not done anything with it due to the time frame. The offical knew time was running out and gave them a chance to win. I'm an ex offical. We can call a foul everytime down the court...but don't. Let them play it out.

But to be fair, Preston cannot be so stupid. His last shot was not a good one. He had time to dish it, even after he shot and missed he had time to run over and foul the guy. yes, I said foul and he did. I just wouldn't have called it.

Why not? A foul is a foul is a foul IMO. Each second of a basketball game is no different then the second before.

  2. True, and Bama didn't play La. Tech, Idaho, Utah St., New Mexico St. either. Again USC didn't play those 4 teams mentioned, they played a tougher schedule. Take the 4 schools previously mentioned and play Boise's schedule. Heck, UK would be favored in 10 of the 12 games on Boise's schedule. Nebraska could run the table, WVU could run the table, Iowa,

Right, USC lost to POWERHOUSE Arizona, perennial title contender Stanford, and the untouchable 7 loss Washington Huskies. Go ahead, you are still only at 2 teams named...18 to go...

  3. I can and did. If they played an SEC schedule they would lose min of 3 games.

Again, VT doesn't have to get up for just one game. They had this game, Miami, GT, UNC, BC, ect... Boise has to get up for VT and Oregon St, 2 games against ranked opponents. Name me one top ten team that wouldn't go undefeated with Boise's schedule.

    Virginia Tech?

  4. With the schedule they have played, since 2006, I can name you 20 schoools that would have went undefeated too. Bama, Florida, Texas, USC,

I only see four schools there....and of those 4, Bama went 6-7 in 2006 so I don't know how you can say them. USC last year was an absolute disappointment. Florida with Tebow would be comparable, and maybe Texas...you have 18 more schools to name...

  5. Since 2006, Boise St. Has lost a total of FOUR games. Let me say that one more time...FOUR games since 2006. THREE of which came in one season. So, 3years of the past four, Boise has lost a total of one game. I don't care who you are, who you play, where you play, or when you play. That is pretty darned impressive. Some of you people make it sound like Boise St can't play with the big boys because they whip up on all the small guys and that's just too easy. What else are they supposed to do? Go undefeated and win a couple BCS bowls? Check. Start off the season with a win against a top 10 team from a BCS conference? Check. Be the winningest team of the decade? Check. What more do you guys want?

  6. He's also "trying to win the game" by leaving off the most productive hitter in the league over the 1st half. Food for thought...

I ge that, but Votto plays first base and only first base. Howard, Gonzalez, and Pujols ALS just play first base. If the game didn't matter, Infante would absolutely not be on this team. Manuel wanted some versatility from a player so he can mix it up and do some different things at the end of the ball game. Votto should be on the team...but not over Infante. It's an apples oranges thing.

You try to win the game by taking your best players. Infante couldn't carry Votto's jock.

And for the record Infante came to the plate as the tying run, and struck out in yesterday's game against the Marlins.

I am aware of that. For the record Votto struck out and made a complete fool of his self yesterday. And like I said earlier, you reds fans should have zero beef with Infante. It's Howard who I would be upset about.

...If he was really trying to win the game and wanted Infante then Votto should be on the team instead of Howard. You're contradicting yourself

I agree with you that Votto should be in over Howard, but that in no way makes me contradict myself.

  7. Infante bats 379 with 2 outs and RISP. Infante has been clutch all season long, case in point, the walk off 2 run single against the Marlins yesterday I think. Infante can literally play all 7 positions in the field and play them well. He is the ultimately utility guy and Charlie Manuel loves him. Infante is a winning baseball player who has EXPERIENCE coming off the bench with the tying run on in the 9th with 2 outs after setting on his butt all game long. He has experience being a clutch pinch hitter. That's what Manuel sees in Infante and that's why he is on the team. He is trying to win the game.

  8. So you arrest the guy, and take him in, and he's out in an hour after paying $25. What does that do?

It does quite a bit. I can guarantee you that BP is pretty darn embarrassed about being arrested. An arrest will stick with someone mores then a speeding ticket, I can tell you that. Next time BP gets behind the wheel of a car he will surely be thinking about what happened the last time. A ticket would have meant next to nothing to the guy. For what it's worth I am a cop and have been in situations like this many times. I'm not sure what I would have done, but I feel confident that the officer in this case made a decision that was thoughtful and honest.

  9. What about Antoine Walker?

Of course, everyone makes mistakes, but just because you're in the NBA, or played in the NBA, doesn't automatically make you covered for ever.

Antoine made more then enough money to be well off. It was his own doing that are causing his problems. He has noone to blame but himself. Bad example.

  10. I wouldn't attribute too much of his success to Cal. He helped mature him, but those who followed Bledsoe in high school knew he had that type of potential. UK fans and others simply hyped up John Wall which overshadowed Eric.

Coming out of high school, several analysts thought Bledsoe was probably the more fundamentally sound pg between the two. He simply lacked the quickness and explosion of Wall.

Can you show me that? Also, Cal turned him into a 2 guard...and he still turned into a "1 and done". Thats amazing to me.

  11. Like some have said in this thread all of his players that he gets at UK won't be 1 and done.

Bottom line is UK lost, if we had won the National Championship none of this would have been talked about. I like what Cal brings to UK, UK played their worst game of the season and lost by 7. UK played awful and WV shot lights out.

Exactly. OP hasn't mentioned Dodson, Hood, and Orton, who will most likely not be going to the NBA this season. Orton may go, but it is not likely. And if he does, can you blame him?

  12. This was Cal's FIRST YEAR as the headman of the Cats. I dont think you can call that a "trend". He hit the perfect storm with Wall/Cousins. Those 2 were GREAT. I dont think any coach in America would have turned those 2 down if they wanted to go to the same school. Now you look at Bledsoe. Who, at the beginning of the year labeled Bledsoe as a "1 and done". Not many. So how can it look bad on Cal that he turned Bledsoe into such a great player that he became a "1 and done" type player?? I will love this team as much, if not more, as any other team in my lifetime. It was astounding watching them grow up and learn to play together. I wouldnt trade it for anything. It was one heckuva ride.
