  1. Lafayette has a lot of good athletes(non of which are seniors) on the basketball team. It has been a struggle for the coach to get them to play together as a team and understand his system but maybe that is now happening. Notice earlier in the year they lost to Tates Creek and then a few weeks later(around Christmas) they beat Tates Creek fairly handily.

  2. Bubba Johnson: 28 carries, 218 yds, 3 TD's, 1 rec, 23 yds.

Not a perfect game from either side. Both teams had 4 turnovers.

Lafayette had close to 400 yds of offense, 7 red zone possessions and only 3 scores.

Lafayette holds Dixie to 2 first downs in the 1st half and only 150 yds total offense for the night.

Lafayette dominates the 1st half, comes out in the 2nd half very un-interested looking and almost lets Dixie back in the game.

If Lafayette wants to continue their season then they will have to learn how to play 4 quarters.

Good win by Lafayette but still a lot of work to do.

  3. Lafayette had to play a 3rd string QB(their normal starting slot rec) vs Madison Central when they got beat. It still counts as a loss and obviously hurt them in the rankings. However, Male loses every week and stays in the rankings? A loss is a loss and it should affect the rankings whether there is a 3rd string QB playing or a missed call by the officials.

What I dont understand is how a team can continue to lose and stay in the rankings when other teams win close games(Lafayette) or win blowouts(Boone Co) and they fall out of the rankings?

Im gonna have to side with the "big name school" theory!!!

  4. I would assume that losing the week before and barely beating TC is the reason.

So losing to Madison Central dropped them to like 8th or 9th, but winning a close game with their #1 cross-town rival, Tates Creek, equals not being ranked? I just dont understand it?

Dont get me wrong, I dont mind Lafayette being unranked. I kinda like Lafayette playing the underdog role. Their 3 best games were early in the season when they were the decisive underdog going into the game...Mason Co, Bell Co and Lex Cath.
