  1. Walsh threw 112 pitches

    Huesman threw 14

    Game total was 126 pitches

Your are correct, Huesman did indeed throw 14 pitches in relief of Walsh; however, you are incorrect on Walsh's number of pitches. He had 115 thru 6 innings and then threw 7 pitches to one batter in 7th inning who happened to hit a double. We can go back and forth on this but even your funky math of 112 this early in the season is tooooo many.

  2. Just not worth replying to this claim! Al I can say, if you know of anything going on illegally at CovCath notify the KHSAA!

They won't do anything anyway. I know for a fact the year Maile's team (09 I believe) was beaten by BW in the Regional, a few of those players didn't pay full tuition. I heard in inner circles the shortstops father claiming he put that team together, that he paid for a few of them to go there so they could win a state championship. Heck one of the freshman football players that same year was on a full scholarship. He went to BW thru 8th grade, was recruited out of Spartans football to go to CCH, went there freshman year and came back to BW his sophomore year. Notifying the KHSAA does nothing. Heck, NCC had a kid transfer in halfway thru his senior year since he was kicked out of his previous school and still played baseball that year. Since they don't enforce the rules on a consistent basis, they should just get rid of them in the state, IMO.

  3. A few years back I think there was a proposal that would prevent kids living out of state from playing football in Ky. Fortunately IMO it wasn't adopted. No offense to the person proposing the idea, but I thought it was pretty weak.

It would have been fine to attend school in Ky; compete for academic scholarships; compete for Valedectorian honors; play in the band; participate on the debate team; etc., etc., etc., but not be able to participate in high school sports. I considered the proposal a litmus test of whether those supporting the proposal were more interested in wins and losses than installing the values gained from participating in high school athletics.

I've never understood the line of thinking that kids located just across a state line are somehow genetically superior than those living within the state boundary.

That's how it is in OH!

  4. See, and I think the two are totally related. Obviously a stupid idea, I guess orchastrated by these two, leads me to believe they aren't smart enough to grasp the sublties of teaching the finer points.

As far knowing what transpired, maybe, maybe not. Maybe someone should call the FBI if we think it's a conspiracy. I'm acting on the information I've been given.

What you call overzealous, I call cheating. Apprantely, so does the OHSAA. High school coaches shouldn't get, "overzealous," about recruiting kids into their program, they should worry about coaching up the ones who are already there.

Apprantely you see things differently, as you compare, UK and Colerain's coaches??? One group is coaching at public high school, with enrollment boundaries. Part of the other's job is to recruit the best kids. Apples to apples here? Am I missing something.

I was acting and speaking on the information given to me as well. Obviously we see things differently.

  5. Be happy for others that have success from NKY. You don't have to hate on everyone. The Scruggs kid isn't at any weights.....FACT, Im there weekly. Koz didnt go recruit in Avondale........FACT. One of the volunteers on the staff worked in Avondale in the boys home and helped get him out of a bad situation to better himself......FACT. That is a success story. What have you done to better anyone? All I see Spartan on here doing is throwing out jabs at people. Do you need a hug or were you picked on as a kid to have this kind of hate built up in your heart? As for the 43 points that BW won, in hindsight, it was the best thing that happened. HC was exposed and what all good coaches do, they fixed their problems. Anyone that knows football wouldnt say that the outcome would be anything less than a great game if the two teams were to meet at the end of the season. Since they cant, stop talking about it. We will enjoy our championship. You can enjoy another great season without a title. Have fun with that Spartan

I do know football and it still would be a blow out; however, this won't matter to you because you'll believe what your going to believe. By the way, I think this thread was about Colerain football until someone else brought up HHS, BW , Trinity, and St. X. So let's get back on track.

  6. It makes me laugh when a non-informed BW fan gets on here and complains about kids living out of district. BW always has kids out of district that are main contributors on their fball team. Vocke, the tackle that moved to Florence from Woodford Co, would you like to name more players that don't live in Ft. Mitchell? Do you hear any HC fans complaining of that or making excuses for our loss when BW beat us? Of course not! We take the good with the bad and try and better ourselves. Many BW fans are the same way and I respect them for that. Unfortunately, non-informed fans like Spartan make the rest of the BW fans look bad. Luckily, I know not all BW fans share your same, non-informed, ill-logic views. Thank God for that

The kid from Woodford lived with his dad in Fort Mitchell. My own kid visited him there so get your facts straight. Vocke came his freshman year and pays tuition. There are many who come to BW and pay tuition. Its a great academic school. Some play football, some are in the band, some play other sports, and others just want a better education. We don't however go out and actively recruit. Your probably getting your supposed facts from a former BW fan and now a hater. He needs to wake up. I have a personal friend over at the boys club in Cincy who told me about Koz. I personally asked Koz and he admitted to me. So go blow smoke elsewhere. And there is a significant difference when people live out of district and pay tuition then when kids come from out of state. That is against rules unless they move to your state/district. Don't worry, KHSAA won't do anything anyways.

  7. Well, I do know my facts. Scruggs was a second hand fact from a parent, didn't see it with my own eyes. Koz going to Avondale....fact, seen it with my own eyes. Before you make blanket statements about the affairs of HHS or BW, come with some facts of your own. I can't speak to what happens at X and Trinity because I live here in NKY, but then again, maybe you can.

  8. Don't get all high on the hog because you finally made it to Dec. Years past, you were hanging 'em up a week or two into the playoffs. You better pray that the KHSAA doesn't go back to 4 classes! And I know it burns a hole deeeeep in you to yet again lose to BW and by 43 big ones!!!! Especially since you supposedly had a team that many HC people said was more athletic than BW. I guess you forgot about it since it's a yearly occurrence:sssh:

  9. First thought on the whole thing is if Bolden didn't know about it, I'm two things; shocked, and saddened.

I find it really hard to believe he had no idea this was happening. REALLY hard to believe.

But if indeed he didn't, I'm saddened that Colerain has to hire assistant coaches this stupid. Can't be good for the kids to be around coaches so dumb, that they recruit and break OHSAA rules behind the head coach's back. Not sure how they can actually instruct kids the right way if they're dumb enough to decide this is a good idea on their own. I would have thought Colerain would be able to hire better, more professional assistants.

I guess we'll find out eventually, because if I'm Bolden and this is really how it went down, there's no need to suspend these coaches. They're fired.

While the two aren't related, and are 16 or so years apart, this isn't the first time Colerain has committed a major OHSAA violation. In most opinions, they cost themselves the 1995 state championship by using an ineligble player. Had to vacate their spot in the state title game. That mess cost the AD his job.

I don't think their ability to instruct kids is somehow related to them committing an infraction of high school athletic rules. I don't think we really now what transpired; leave it at that. About hiring them, they probably are very good coaches who got overzealous in getting a kid into their program. Heck UK hired someone who had infractions at two other schools.

  10. I dont believe that they are concerned but I am sure they appreciate your concern.

Has anyone seen Scruggs lifting with HC as it has been said or are we just going to keep saying this without confirmation?

I got it from a parent of a kid at HC about Scruggs. I know for a fact Koz was going to the Boys club over in Avondale and recruiting. It's weird you're not refuting the Cincinnati basketball player. Maybe one of these years you'll get enough recruits to make up that 43 points from this year!

  11. Highlands and Beechwood are public schools, just like Colerain, Campbell County or any other public school. Why do people seem to think that "independent" puts them under some different set of rules, or some advantage.

    IT DOESN'T!!

I think if anyone should be concerned at any NKY school, it would be Holy Cross. Doesn't one of their basketball players live in Cincinnati? I know he's ranked over there. And what about the Scruggs kid from Holmes who is working out with the HC football team?

  12. Those schools are both in the same district. That's really interesting. Sounds like the coaches were set up. How brazen of the coaches to go to the parent's house of another kid at the smaller high school in the district. Clock can't be ticking on the coach, because his brother is the AD. Looks like Colerain's Colerain's alleged cesspool is about to flood. One coach is apparently suspended for the year, and the other back just before practice begins. This can't be isolated, nor tolerated. Weak penalty.

I believe both are suspended for 2012 season. I'm not sure where you're seeing one comes back before practice starts.

  13. Other rule changes:

    1. Legal Reception - players much make catch and touch down in bounds, regardless of contact.

    2. Approval of on-field corporate advertising.

    3. Limits on below-the-waist blocks.

    4. Prohibiting the kicking team from blocking until the ball has broken the plane of the receiving team's line.

So, according to rule 4, when a team kicks an onside kick, the receiving team can go get the ball before it travels 10 yards without being hit by kicking team? I'm assuming 'the plane of receiving team's line' to be 10 yards.

Secondly, what was changed about below-the-waist blocks?
