  1. Allows him to come back and pitch on Thursday should Ryle make the championship game.

Don't you think it would be tough for him to come back on 2 days rest. I know he would be able to based on rules but would he be effective? How many pitches did he throw thru 6?

  2. So tell me please, what Ninth Region HS baseball team and their coach, has won a state title since 1997 (15 years)?

Now tell me please, how many current Ninth Region HS Baseball coaches have coached a Ninth Region HS baseball team to a State Title?

Oh and do you want to tell me who the Ryle, Conner and Cooper Head Baseball coaches played HS baseball for?

Yea, get rid of a coach who has over 800 wins, has won countless 34th/35th District titles, Nine Ninth Regional Tournaments, a state title and won 20 or more games for 26 straight years.

You could only wish you were as successful at your job, as Coach Krumps is at his!

BTW CovCath has won the Ninth Region twice in the last 11 years!

Lookout! TOG is on the loose!

  3. Congrats to Coach Max and the Dixie team. I enjoyed watching this game even though I didn't have a dog in the fight. Cov Cath kids and coaches have nothing to be shamed of. They had a tremendous season, even though it didn't end the way they had hoped.

The turf field is the ultimate equalizer, in my opinion. Cov Cath isn't "Cov Cath" on turf, if that makes sense. It's much more difficult to utilize the bunt on the turf, and that will always be something Coach Krumps' teams do to be successful. However, Stansbury was solid today and my hat is off to him. I never thought anyone would go seven today, especially on that surface. Impressive.

That's one of the reasons I do not like playing at Freedom in the regional or all A. Teams are used to playing on grass fields all year and then you play on a fast surface. I think the surface takes away from small ball and makes average fielding teams better. Can't say it makes a difference on fly balls.

  4. The season didn't end as I/we wished but indeed it was a great season!

I want to thank Coach Krump, Coach Eck, the players and their parents for allowing me along for the ride. You don't spend the days, the months and years with these kids and not have your heart broken when you see the pain in these young men eye's, after the game.

Congrats to the Red Colonels and Mr. Stansberry, he pitched a heck of a game and here's wishing you all the best for the rest of your season.

I will not be posting stats and such for this game today as my hearts just isn't in it at the moment.

I don't think anyone's heart is in it when they lose! I thought this would be the outcome if CCH drew Dixie in their first game.

  5. Brossart - 10am

    Mason County

    Clark Co - 12:30pm

    Nicholas Co

    Bracken Co - 3:00pm

    Bourbon Co

    Harrison Co - 5:30pm

    Scott

All first round games played Monday at Montgomery County High School.

The semi-finals will be played on Tuesday at 5:30pm and 8pm with the finals on Wednesday at 6pm.

I wish all regions would schedule this way. Monday, Tues, and Wed. Back to back. It is a better judge of pitching depth. I also like that they play it on high school fields. JMO

  6. Tacky...... Don't know your intent behind taking a stab at NeverWrong, but the game between St Henry and Lloyd was something that neither team should be degraded in. Yes, Lloyd "went home", but it really was probably one of the best district or regional games that you will see. On that night, it was two very evenly matched teams. Excellent pitching, very few errors, clutch hits, small ball execution, 11 innings of ups and downs....

I guess "you did call it after all" but I don't see the need to "crow about it" like it was in the bag for either team.

Get off it! He didn't have a problem saying St. Henry wasn't worth anything earlier in this thread. Your right that the Lloyd game was a good close fought game; however for a team that, how'd he put it ....'They will not be close to Lloyd or Dixie this year!'... that wasn't tacky at all! I wouldn't have said a thing about the game other than Neverwrong had to make his uninformed statement that St. Henry would be garbage. The problem I see is NeverWrong is never right!

  7. Just a thought though: Conner beat CCH on May 8 this year pitching Maines. He's very good, no question. Not sure Conner has another pitcher that can keep them in game against CCH. Do they give some thought to throwing off on Monday and try to hit their way to win over Highlands? I don't see how you don't at least consider it. Conner can hit, without a doubt. I think the rest of their staff should be more than able to keep them in the game against HHS, while Maines really gives them their most (only?) legit shot to beat CCH. Again, not saying it's the way to go, but it has to cross Arlo's mind.

You're assumig CCH will beat Dixie. I'm calling for the upset. Dixie over CCH.
